You people have no taste in music. If i was going to rate this song I'd call it Nickelback quality garbage . Music was softer than a baked pretzel and the lyrics sound like they were written by by a toddler.
I honestly agree shes sounds better live same with the rest of their musicians idk i feel like they probably did that on purpose tho when you see them live makes you wanna go back to hear them again
In my opinion, this song and Back From the Dead are anthems of Halestorm! I hope that everyone starts to see that rock isn't dead and we need to take care of one another.
Lzzy's vocals always impress, but lets give it up for Josh & Joe's guitar work, and Arejay's incredible drumming - every part of this band is top notch
I can remember when Lzzy Hale was just a young teenager playing in central PA. Now she is almost 40, which she will be in October next year, and is a 2.5 decade veteran of music that current young teenagers inspire to be one day. Time goes by too fast because a teenager Lzzy Hale seems like yesterday to me here from central PA.
Agree, I remember seeing them on City Island long ago (when their Dad played bass) and thinking "that kid has one HELL of a voice" and look at them now. So happy for their success.
Good Lord, Lzzy...I'm an old school rocker..I'm pushing 60, and I'm a die-hard Dio fan. But you, you... You are the most talented rocker I've ever seen. Keep it coming.
Absolutely fantastic. I listened to it twice and had two very different understandings of the song. The first time around I wasn't paying nearly as much attention to the lyrics and it felt like an anthem about being on stage feeling like a priest (or another religious leader) thinking about their congregation and the feeling of wonder, power, and responsibility it gives. That time it felt like a fantastic pump-up song. The second listen, I paid much more attention to the lyrics, and man... that changed things. It felt like it was about rising up from depression or another mental or physical ailment and getting back to being you and how looking back and thinking about all the voices in your head and how what they say to you drastically changes depending on your mental state. It also gives a sense of control back, as she says "Outta hell up to the steeple". It hits hard... Thank you, Lizzy...
This is how I look at it as well. That exact verse always gets me, because it’s about fighting back and ties into another song on the new album “Back from The Dead” with the verse “Hell couldn’t hold me down” and this song is like a continuation, a part two for the story about breaking out of hell and restoring your own inner power and taking back that power. This song absolutely represents strength and determination and gets me through when I want to give up the fight.
I had no idea who they were when I saw them, they opened for Godsmack. They blew me away, so I became a fan. Lizzy's a great performer and the band is really tight.
I saw them open for Godsmack a while back. Halestorm are headliner in my eyes & ears. They rocked that sh*t hard and had the arena pumped. Definitely one of my favorite concerts.
Damn you haven't heard a lot of thing then, not saying she has a weak voice it's far from the truth, but she don't have that strong of a vocal compare to simmilar singers.
My son and I saw them last week (8/14/24) here in Albuquerque. They played this. There were lots of people with t-shirts that said "This is my Church" on the back. Lzzy has the most powerful voice I've ever heard. I must see them again!
I may be 50 now, but I have seen 50 concerts and they were the last concert we saw. Due to my disability it may be the last concert I see. But it was worth it. They rock. I haven't seen a better band in 20 years.
Halestorm came to Alaska of all places, and Lizzy belted it with such passion it brought tears to my eyes...and Arejay was incredible on the drums with is oversized stick solo. Amazing band!
Sorry, not sorry, this is going to be a mini novel of a comment; so here we go. Second to last meet and greet w/ these beautiful souls in Detroit was brief but I choked up and told Lz zy she was able to somehow get in my head and put into words what I often feel but couldn't quite say it in a meaningful way. The minute I got teary eyed she reached out and held my hands, thanked me and hugged me. I won't ever forget it. That is as real and as genuine as it gets. After the show; I got the notification my meet and greet pics were uploaded. Props to Judy for capturing the moment. It's framed and one of the first things I see every day when I get home from work. I'd love to hear about other freak fam experiences. After all; this is my church and these are my people. 💗
It stopped raining in my head today I finally feel like myself again Redemption's here at last Back where it all began In the place where God and the Devil shake hands This is my kingdom This is my cathedral This is my castle And these are my people This is my armor This is my anchor It's been a long road outta Hell up to the steeple For this is church and these are my people A choir's singing in my heart today (whoa) Like a thousand angels breaking the silent parade To the ones I call my own I'm back where I belong In the place where God and the Devil call home This is my kingdom This is my cathedral This is my castle And these are my people This is my armor This is my anchor It's been a long road outta Hell up to the steeple For this is church and these are my people This is my kingdom This is my cathedral This is my castle And these are my people This is my armor (this is my armor) This is my anchor (this is my anchor) It's been a long road outta Hell up to the steeple This is our church You are my people This is our church This is our steeple This is our church You are my people This is our church This is my steeple This is my steeple This is my church This is my steeple
I heard this for the first time today. They rock and thinking about getting this on CD. I bet they sound good live. Please give the whole band credit not just lead singer.
They aren't just good live, they are better live. The energy and passion are unparalleled. The whole band is awesome but the power behind Lzzy's voice is AMAZING.
Absolutely rock out to this on loop since it dropped. This song reminds me of the arena rock anthems of the 80’s but cranked up to 11. I can’t help but smile when singing along and I get to the “These are my people”. I can imagine it being written while on stage for that fist show back after COVID hit. That’s how it feels to me. Getting home after a long time away. I can’t wait for the whole album and hope I get the chance to see you someday.
So you would compare this to Motley Crue "Dr Feelgood" Whitesnake "Here I Go Again" or Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar On Me"? I dont think so, seriously, this song is average at best, generic music, generic lyrics, maybe the CD has better songs, but this is boring
Halestorm has been one of my favorite bands for years now and I definitely cant get enough of Lzzys I get goosebumps when I hear her sing and fellas in the band you kick ass as well, also this Guitar riff is phenomenal.
Jesus is my kingdom Jesus is my cathedral Jesus is my castle "And these are my people" Jesus is my armor Jesus is my anchor … It's been a long road outta Hell up to the steeple For this is church and these are my people - Jesus
This song is a truly perfection to the stage, i can picture it in my head with perfection. Lzzy's pointting to the crowd and saying the chorous. Just can't wait to see it live, absolutely stunning
Saw Halestorm at the Gov in Adelaide. It was one of the best live concerts i've ever seen. The band puts in 110% every time. Not a dull moment watching them, Halestorm are forever evolving. Long live 🤟 and roll ❤
This song rocks. Glad you got back to roots. From York, Pa, miss the skid row or Cinderella or Dio covers. I grew up on those bands and love the influence.
This is my music, it makes me proud These are my people and this is my crowd, This is my kingdom This is my cathedral This is my castle And these are my people 🤘
I saw you at Knotfest in Melbourne. I believe I am very lucky to have been working at this event to have seen you. You are right up there for me with Disturbed. You guys were the most amazing band of the night. I just thought you were bloomin brilliant ❤❤❤❤
Your concert was the first thing that brought me out of my solitude after these past 2 years and I can't tell you how much I appreciate you and the community you've created. Lets fucking go people!!
That’s what I feel lately even with all the pain from the past years from a lot of people..but there is shifting is happening. I ll sing this song all time next week .
I think this is going to be an amazing "crowd song" in concert. "This is my church"... point to the stage... "These are my people".... pointing at the crowd.... the last breakdown, Lzzy will talk up the crowd.... it'll be great.
I think steeple means long road uphill Like the steeple chase (horse race) because back in the day that is how you could see a civilization in the woods. So it has nothing to do with Christianity It was adopted. Cuz I don’t think those buildings were built as Christian churches originally So far that is my opinion

She makes my hair stand up. Between this song, and I am the fire. She’s a fucking god send.
Something about Lzzy screaming in my ears helps me pick myself back up and keep going!
She gets into my soul! ♥️
You people have no taste in music. If i was going to rate this song I'd call it Nickelback quality garbage . Music was softer than a baked pretzel and the lyrics sound like they were written by by a toddler.
Lzzy Hale one of the only singers that has a voice 30x more powerful in person

Trusty an amazing performer - the complete package! ❤
I heard that. Can't wait to see her in concert!!
@@jeffgregson5320 I've seen them like 11 times. She nails every note live. Met her once, too. Gorgeous up close and personal.
Id love to see them live🎉

I saw them in Reading in 2018 with In This Moment. Absolutely fantastic

I absolutely LOVE her voice. Harmony and power combined.
Lzzy Hale... What an absolute badass! 💪🤘🎸
Great song from a fantastic band. I was so impressed with this band HALESTORM in concert. Lizzie seems to perform like a goddess.
This sounds like old school Halestorm yet had a new flavor. I love it
Rock truly is their kingdom right now, no one is doing it better and no one has done it this good for this long in forever.
Absolutely fantastic. I listened to it twice and had two very different understandings of the song. Lzzy Hale is timeless. Halestorm has been around forever, but it feels like I first heard her voice a few years ago. Nearly 15 years!
Well I'm just hearing her now ,) so I'm YOU 15 years ago about 15 minutes ago and she's fucking amazing 👏
You give my heart chills. Bone chilling screams Miss Storm. I love you. You are an angel.
