  • This is the final part (2/2) of my Ford Bronco purchasing saga - you can find the first half here: • I ordered, cancelled, ...
But, long story short - after two years of waiting and riding an emotional rollercoaster, it all ended with the fireworks of my dealer trying to... you guessed it, trying to sell my Bronco to someone else. Luckily, I busted them before they could, and a circus ensued. _

Great video. So, I just took delivery yesterday on my Badlands in Cyber Orange (upcharge color lol). And what you discussed in the video is spot on. Oh yea, they went ahead and put that paint sealant crap on the vehicle without even asking me if I wanted it. And I stood firm and refused to pay for that unauthorized add-on. And yet, car dealers 'wonder' why they get such a bad rap... lmao

Glad it was finally delivered. You know, I just watched Fargo, and there's a scene where the dealer pulled this exact crap - I felt dirty afterwards, clearly their oldest trick in the book: ruclips.net/video/B2LLB9CGfLs/видео.html

If you are standing in a car dealership you can be sure of one thing, that the time is bullshit O'clock.

Oh yeah, big time. Of all the non-value add things in car manufacturing, dealers have got to be the worst offenders. They literally add nothing good or valuable to the experience.

to add to the conversation, the Tesla approach to selling cars is preferred IMO... dealership salesmen "games" are just tiring and outdating. Hence why even non-telsa approaches like Carvana are attractive* over walking into a brick-and-mortar shop

Totally agreed - apparently, dealers have some kind of lobby and even protected themselves under certain states rights. I hear that Tesla has to fight said lobby and/or isn't even allowed to sell their own damn cars directly to customers in certain states. The good news is that Ford seems to be picking up this 'sell through gallery' tactic, at least for its electric division - ruclips.net/video/nGinvE8FkCg/видео.html

Correct me if I'm wrong but Carvana tried to pull a Dick move recently. Saw that on Steve Lehto's yt chan but I could not recall the details.
Other than that I kind of agree with your point.

@@SerbanCMusca-ut8ny I looked up Steve's channel and he's got a bunch of Carvana videos - Carvana selling stolen cars, Carvana shipping wrong cars, Carvana missing paperwork/titles, Carvana losing license to sell cars in Illinois for the 2nd time, etc. lol

That's the color I saw at the Chicago Auto Show - beautiful!
Two times begging you for a 5 out of 5? ... you've found their Achilles heal, corporate must see those, too.
Next time they ask you what they can do for you, be more demanding: "Fire Dick"
The nearest I've come to an infuriating experience like this was once I rented an apartment in France only to see *my apartment* relisted the following week at a higher price in the same source I had found it originally.
When I called the owner on it, he basically said, "of course we did that - what's wrong with trying to get the most money out of the property?" (aside from me showing up in a foreign country thinking I had rented an apartment only to find someone else living there? I guess nothing, you slimeballs)
Last laugh department: I had the pleasure of them calling a month later asking if I was still interested in the apartment. What a pleasure it was to inform them I had found a better apartment for less money and how sorry I was their apartment was now sitting empty when they coulda had me as a never-missed-a-payment-in-my-life kinda tenant.

Ooh nice - that's called "Cactus Grey", our favorite color from their options by far. Yeah for sure - I was surprised that anything came of a survey, so I guess Ford may have some sway over dealers in this way, which is nice. There was a part I forgot to mention, that there was a 2nd follow up survey after my phone call with Todd, and I basically lit them up on that survey again, and this time, I said that I don't appreciate the numerous attempts to make me an accessory to their crappy survey system which apparently only punishes the salesperson you dealt with (even though there are far more dealer-centric questions on those surveys).
And your experience is far more infuriating, that's having a place to live versus NOT having a place to live just because someone decided they can make like 5 extra Francs/Euros. Money is a stupid concept to be honest lol, it turns everyone into a dick.
