In 1981 I had a 4yr old son who had an accident and passed away. 5 months later my 7 month old son passed away on Christmas eve. I was so Greatful I had baptized all my boys.
Thank you all!! I definitely put my Trust in God. Since 1981 I've had several other Heartbreaking deaths in my family. I've always put my Trust in God to get me through!!
I know this video is a year old,but Catholic here and I was baptized as a baby when I was just 4 months old. I then went on to receive my first communion when I was in 3rd grade. Now I recently graduated high school and I’m older (18 years old) I have decided . Tomorrow is my confirmation day so tomorrow night I will get confirmed in the faith and receive the Holy Spirit in a special way . The gifts of the Holy Spirit and also become a fully initiated Catholic. That’s why we have Confirmation for when we are much older so we can decide and accept Jesus as we move forward. Ultimately I still accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and after tomorrow I’ll be a confirmed Catholic
My parents baptized me in a car when I was 10 day old because they didn't think I would live but God is awesome and gracious he let me live he saved me not only spiritually but physically also, because of my baptism.
I honor your parents who have decided to give you baptism in a car considering the danger that you are facing at the moment. I have heard of some stories like yours wherein their parents administered emergency baptism to them while they are facing the danger of death. And all of those stories ended up with the child being saved from danger after they were baptized. It just shows that Christ not only allows Baptism as a means to channel spiritual salvation into a person but also allows the sacrament to channel physical salvation.
@@lukegroves5506 So you don't believe in emergency baptisms Do you think a baptism should only be done by a priest? What if you don't have a priest to do the baptism then what? You'd let the child go the'll? If you can do an emergency baptism in an ememergency situation why won't you?
@@sarahmulvey9560 you were not saved by baptism alone Hate to tell you that. Just fact There is no such thing as emergency baptism for a infant that can’t decide upon it on one’s self We are to be baptized for forgiveness of sins upon Hearing the gospel Believing the gospel Not a second before

If your heart is sizzling for Christ & you have absolutely no doubt about the truthfulness of Christianity, then you would want your entire family be included in the Faith, even your babies, simple as that ! I was a Moslem at the time but absolutely loved to see my babies getting baptized in the Catholic Church some 30 years ago.
I’ve heard other explanations but never one like this using the Old Testament circumcisions. You made it so easy to understand that if one doesn’t get it it’s because they don’t want to
Yaaa circumscion required different requirements it’s heretical to compare the two and form theology where the apostles didn’t I’m fact are you aware the apostles taught baptism was for beleivers only that can acknowledge and hear and make an informed decision There is not one instance of child baptism anywhere in the Bible whatsoever. Catholicism is evil. Not every one in it but it is heretical I’d steer clear

This has been most helpful. Thank you. I've returned to the catholic church but am married to an evangelical husband who loves the Lord but struggles with the ritual feeling of mass. This will help me explain baptism of infants so well. Thanks!
Thank you so much Father Josh for mentioning the scriptures, so when I tell my beloved about the importance of baptism in infants, I'll have a very strong base.

Thankyou Fr Josh for this! I absolutely love your insightful video and they explain a lot. I especially loved the "Did Judas recieve Holy communion?" video. You're an amazing priest.
I think infant baptism is very important to bring eternal salvation to our little ones. Even in the Old Testament; The covenant with God had infant babies to be circumcised in order to be introduced into the Jewish faith. Fr Josh has an amazing take on this on the ‘Ascension Presents’ channel.
@@goranbreskic4304 I looked it up. In fact it was for that reason when it got more popular. But it happened before that in some cultures. Possibly for the same reason in each but I'd have to dig into every historical nation to find out. Not that interested in it honestly.
Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit) Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then received the Holy Spirit from heaven. The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Which baptism makes you a member of Christ’s Church? The New Covenant conversion process is described below. (Born-again) Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.) Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment) ============ Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says? What did Peter say below? Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text. Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage? Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13) “baptize” KJV Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.) Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5) Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. It's always a mystery. GOD gives out to us all what is good for us, and we don't know where it came from. Like when a kid is given a bicycle as a present, the child doesn't have to know where the money to buy it came from. The child starts happily biking on the bike, and the parent rejoices in having given that present to his little boy or little girl without having awaited till 18 or adulthood.
Thank you Father Josh. And it doesn't end there. After the baby is baptized the mission of the community starts, especially that of the parents and godparents father. So actually, for me, baptism of a person is not fir the baby or the person being baptized but moreover for parents and godparents and us to learn and teach our faith. We cannot teach if we do not know our faith. Sadly that is what has happened. Godbless you Father Josh.

Christ was asked the same question by the Apostles. He gave them what we call the Lord’s Prayer. (Matt. 6:9-13) Also, you seem to believe reciting prayer can’t be from the heart. Where did you get that idea? Some of my most prayerful moments, where I feel closest to God, are in the recitation of prayers such as the Rosary.

I was baptised as a baby by sprinkling. A time ago I joked about debaptism as going into water for swimming. I rejected Jesus and Christianity until a few Month ago. Do I have to be baptized again?
As I've been looking at videos from different priest view points on infant baptism, all the videos cut 1 Peter 3:21 short. The full verse in the ESV is "Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but vas an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ". The baptism is an appeal to God for a good conscience, a baby can't do that... I'd be curious to see an answer on this one.
Jesus healed the paralyzed man because of the level of faith of his friends. In the matter of baptism, it is the faith of the parents that initiates grace for the child.
IM ONLY 12 BUT I KNOW THE TRUTH. FAITH AND BELIEF MUST COME BEFORE BAPTISM. CIRCUMSISION IS NOT BAPTISM. BAPTISM IS NOT A TICKET TO HEAVEN. IT IS SIGNIFYING TO THE CHURCH THAT YOU YAVE BEEN SAVED.
What do you think happens to children who are not baptized? for example. if they die during childbirth before the birth or otherwise is not baptized. I am a Christian, but not a Catholic, and am curiously examining the Catholic faith.
Mark 10:14 - Jesus says to let the children come to Him for the kingdom of God also belongs to them.😁😁The Bible is silent on your question thus the Church had the question of Limbo. And it all Rests on the Mercy Of Christ.
Let’s just start with this question: were the parents of those children desired for their children to be baptized at some point in those children’s lives (let’s not be stuck whether those children will be baptized when they’re young or adult)? Was it the parents’ intent that they raise their children in the faith. If yes, then we can believe that God saved those children. If the answer is no or never been thought about, then, God will save those children in ways He alone knows.
That’s why the Bible doesn’t teach infant baptism! Christian baptism is for those old enough to understand and believe in “the good news of the Kingdom of God.” (Acts 8:12) Its linked with hearing God’s Word, accepting it, and repenting-Actions that an infancy cannot take!
God still finds them and leads them back to Himself anyway. He will use individuals to make it happen. Remember that Confirmation completes Baptismal Grace.
@@SDJ992-q9t the same can be said for older people. 6 months you can be living a good Christian life and that can all go away due to sin or whatever reasons. It doesn’t take away the fact you’ve been baptized.
@Mislene. That can happen to anyone. They’re still baptized children of God and if they fall that’s due to their thoughts, actions or inactions & if you know people like that we are called to help them back into leading a Christian life.
Nowhere in the Bible does it talk about a baby being baptized. Not was Jesus himself baptized as a baby. Don’t follow men bro study the word and follow Jesus. A lot of people are out here misleading people. The answers are in the scriptures. Take the time to do your own research and beg for guidance from Yahweh in the name of Yeshua(Jesus)
We believe that God works through extraordinary circumstances. It is our firm belief that there’s someone else who desires for a child to be baptized. But then again, it depends on why the parents didn’t see it as necessary. Do the parents believe that Baptism as an infant is not necessary or Baptism in general is not necessary? They only believe that it’s not an urgent necessity but still desires it later on, the burden of sin falls on the parents but the child will be saved because there was a desire. But if it’s Baptism at any stage of life in general, then let’s find out why they don’t believe it’s necessary. As for us, let’s do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission.
These people are so sick on their interpretation Yiu summed it up. A baby is born and parents have no faith at all. Does that baby die if not baptized. ? Wow One must believe befire baptism A baby can’t believe Yes baptism is part of salvation Only to one who free will choses Christ
Will Catholics baptize a baby even if the parents aren't confirmed but still want their baby baptized? I'm the grandmother and will commit to their spiritual life but our church is denying baptism because the parents aren't confirmed Catholics? Why should the baby have to pay?
baptism should be reserved for those who first make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. This view is known as believer’s baptism, or “credobaptism.” Jesus was baptized by John (Matthew 3:13-17; Luke 3:21) and taught His disciples to baptize those who repented of their sins, believed in Him, and received salvation in His name (Acts 2:4, 38; 9:17-18; Matthew 28:19). Those who hold to believer’s baptism see it as an important initial act of obedience that a person makes after accepting Jesus as Lord-baptism is a public testimony of faith. And baptism by immersion clearly shows one’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (see Acts 2:38-41; 16:29-34; and Romans 6:3-4). Pouring or sprinkling, the method used in infant baptism, fails to illustrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Hey bea, if your love for Jesus is super strong & also believe in the truthfulness of Christianity, then wouldn't it be stupid not to include your entire family in the Faith, even your babies? @@BeatrizMartinez-dy3oy so baptism is for all, young & old, tall & short, male & female. We are all to be included in God's family. It's our responsibility as Christian parents to include our kids or even infants in God's family by the simple act of baptism. Common sense suggests that we can't submerge a baby, so pouring or sprinkling methods are used which are perfectly fine with God.
@@BeatrizMartinez-dy3oy You as a Christian dad are responsible to include your kids in the Faith regardless of age, whether it's in the book or not. People baptism is for the remission of sin. Babies have not sinned. Jesus says let them come on him . He saying don’t keep them away from him let them come and hear. Difference between children and infants. Baptism requires repentance. How can an infant repent from sin when the infant hasn’t sinned?
There is original sin, but I agree with you that babies do not recognize sin. We get baptized when we understand our sin and accept Christ’s forgiveness! 💗
Psalms 51:5. A sinner at CONCEPTION. That’s pretty radical but the Bible is radical and if you believe in the Bible then one must recognize original sin. We are all born with it, babies included.
where it is written that the word of god is some scriptures which were constantly changed by the church itself to fit their needs? its impossible that the word of god speaks about papers which later become a book, why because they did not exist in the time of the story itself....also in greek its "logos" of god and not word, so you need to know a little about plato to understand what the writer really meant. Such fundamental failures over thousands of years means either nearly all religious people are dumb and ignorant or deceivers/deceived
When people ask the disciples, what must we do to be saved, they would answer, "be baptized and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and repent of your sins". How can a baby acknowledge Jesus Christ when he doesn't even have reason yet? How can he be saved when he doesn't know what he/she is saved from? A newborn doesn't know that he is in need of a savior. Shouldn't you wait to get to the age of accountability to seek salvation?
Gen. 17:12, Lev. 12:3 - these texts show the circumcision of eight-day old babies as the way of entering into the Old Covenant - Col 2:11-12 - however, baptism is the new "circumcision" for all people of the New Covenant. Therefore, baptism is for babies as well as adults. God did not make His new Covenant narrower than the old Covenant. To the contrary, He made it wider, for both Jews and Gentiles, infants and adults. Job 14:1-4 - man that is born of woman is full of trouble and unclean. Baptism is required for all human beings because of our sinful human nature. Psalm 51:5 - we are conceived in the iniquity of sin. This shows the necessity of baptism from conception. Matt. 18:2-5 - Jesus says unless we become like children, we cannot enter into heaven. So why would children be excluded from baptism? Matt 19:14 - Jesus clearly says the kingdom of heaven also belongs to children. There is no age limit on entering the kingdom, and no age limit for being eligible for baptism. Mark 10:14 - Jesus says to let the children come to Him for the kingdom of God also belongs to them. Jesus says nothing about being too young to come into the kingdom of God. Mark 16:16 - Jesus says to the crowd, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved." But in reference to the same people, Jesus immediately follows with "He who does not believe will be condemned." This demonstrates that one can be baptized and still not be a believer. This disproves the Protestant argument that one must be a believer to be baptized. There is nothing in the Bible about a "believer's baptism." Luke 18:15 - Jesus says, “Let the children come to me.” The people brought infants to Jesus that he might touch them. This demonstrates that the receipt of grace is not dependent upon the age of reason. Acts 2:38 - Peter says to the multitude, "Repent and be baptized.." Protestants use this verse to prove one must be a believer (not an infant) to be baptized. But the Greek translation literally says, "If you repent, then each one who is a part of you and yours must each be baptized” (“Metanoesate kai bapisthetohekastoshymon.”) This, contrary to what Protestants argue, actually proves that babies are baptized based on their parents’ faith. This is confirmed in the next verse. Acts 2:39 - Peter then says baptism is specifically given to children as well as adults. “Those far off” refers to those who were at their “homes” (primarily infants and children). God's covenant family includes children. The word "children" that Peter used comes from the Greek word "teknon" which also includes infants. Luke 1:59 - this proves that "teknon" includes infants. Here, John as a "teknon" (infant) was circumcised. See also Acts 21:21 which uses “teknon” for eight-day old babies. So baptism is for infants as well as adults. Acts 10:47-48 - Peter baptized the entire house of Cornelius, which generally included infants and young children. There is not one word in Scripture about baptism being limited to adults. Acts 16:15 - Paul baptized Lydia and her entire household. The word "household" comes from the Greek word "oikos" which is a household that includes infants and children. Acts 16:15 - further, Paul baptizes the household based on Lydia's faith, not the faith of the members of the household. This demonstrates that parents can present their children for baptism based on the parents' faith, not the children's faith. Acts 16:30-33 - it was only the adults who were candidates for baptism that had to profess a belief in Jesus. This is consistent with the Church's practice of instructing catechumens before baptism. But this verse does not support a "believer's baptism" requirement for everyone. See Acts 16:15,33. The earlier one comes to baptism, the better. For those who come to baptism as adults, the Church has always required them to profess their belief in Christ. For babies who come to baptism, the Church has always required the parents to profess the belief in Christ on behalf of the baby. But there is nothing in the Scriptures about a requirement for ALL baptism candidates to profess their own belief in Christ (because the Church has baptized babies for 2,000 years). Acts 16:33 - Paul baptized the jailer (an adult) and his entire household (which had to include children). Baptism is never limited to adults and those of the age of reason. See also Luke 19:9; John 4:53; Acts 11:14; 1 Cor. 1:16; and 1 Tim. 3:12; Gen. 31:41; 36:6; 41:51; Joshua 24:15; 2 Sam. 7:11, 1 Chron. 10:6 which shows “oikos” generally includes children. Rom. 5:12 - sin came through Adam and death through sin. Babies' souls are affected by Adam's sin and need baptism just like adult souls. Rom. 5:15 - the grace of Jesus Christ surpasses that of the Old Covenant. So children can also enter the new Covenant in baptism. From a Jewish perspective, it would have been unthinkable to exclude infants and children from God's Covenant kingdom. 1 Cor. 1:16 - Paul baptized the household ("oikos") of Stephanus. Baptism is not limited to adults. Eph. 1:1; Col. 1:2 - Paul addresses the "saints" of the Church, and these include the children he addresses in Eph. 6:1 and Col. 3:20. Children become saints of the Church only through baptism. Eph. 2:3 - we are all by nature children of wrath, in sin, like all mankind. Infants are no exception. See also Psalm 51:5 and Job 14:1-4 which teach us we are conceived in sin and born unclean. 2 Thess. 3:10 - if anyone does not work let him not eat. But this implies that those who are unable to work should still be able to eat. Babies should not starve because they are unable to work, and should also not be denied baptism because they are unable to make a declaration of faith. Matt. 9:2; Mark 2:3-5 - the faith of those who brought in the paralytic cured the paralytic's sins. This is an example of the forgiveness of sins based on another's faith, just like infant baptism. The infant child is forgiven of sin based on the parents' faith. Matt. 8:5-13 - the servant is healed based upon the centurion's faith. This is another example of healing based on another's faith. If Jesus can heal us based on someone else’s faith, then He can baptize us based on someone else’s faith as well. Mark 9:22-25 - Jesus exercises the child's unclean spirit based on the father's faith. This healing is again based on another's faith. 1 Cor. 7:14 - Paul says that children are sanctified by God through the belief of only one of their parents. Exodus 12:24-28 - the Passover was based on the parent's faith. If they did not kill and eat the lamb, their first-born child died. Joshua 5:2-7 - God punished Israel because the people had not circumcised their children. This was based on the parent's faith. The parents play a critical role in their child's salvation. By the way, infant baptism is also practiced by the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Assyrian Church of the East, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Church of the Nazarene, Reformed Church in America, Episcopalians, United Church of Christ (UCC),😊😊
@@biblealone9201 Actually I agree with all of this! I was actually trying to copy Your response to keep it for study but RUclips won't allow this. Here's the problem, I also believe in baptism as a covenant but when I spoke to a Catholic priest about this he says it's not a covenant; it's for actual salvation. I'm all in for baptism as a covenant, but I'm still sketchy on the salvation route because I do believe you have to acknowledge Jesus and know what sin is and know what you're being saved from before the salvation part comes in. But as far as a covenant, yes it's absolutely biblical!
If the child dies before the age of reason, before he or she can understand what sin and salvation is, would the child then be condemned not to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? I am not a theologian, nor am I well-versed in Bible studies, but I believe that God who desires that everyone be saved would not want those children to be lost just because they died before they reach that age where they can accept salvation. This is where the faith of the parents (and godfather/godmother) play a role. It is by virtue of their faith that the child first receives salvation and forgiveness of their original sin, until the child reaches the age where he or she can rationalize for themselves whether they'd like to fully accept or renounce that gift of salvation.
CIRCUMCISION and BAPTISM isn't not the same.❗️ circumcision acts as an outward physical sign of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people. BAPTISM in the Bible expresses an identification with Christ's death and resurrection-the old self was crucified with Christ (through the waters of death), and now followers of Jesus have risen with him in “newness of life” (Romans 6:3-11.)🙏
Protestant denominations have man made rules that those elders chose for no particular reason other than to fuel their interpretation of the scripture. In this case a non-biblical expectation that only adults should be baptized when this is not mentioned in scripture anywhere. Ironically before protestants everyone was Catholic until the orthodox schism in 1000. Then protestant reformation in 1500’s with more and more denominations appearing every year each with their own doctrine that doesn’t agree with any other denomination.
Circumscision was the sign of God’s covenant with the NATION of Israel. That covenant was not individualistic and did not relate to water baptism in any way. Additionally, water baptism is an ordinance that symbolizes REPENTANCE. Submersion represents the death of the old man of sin which ACTUALLY occurs through repentance. There is no magic in the water. It is not possible that coming into ceremonial contact water could ever be sufficient to join us to the likeness of Christ’s death. Being born again is only possible if the old man of sin dies. We are born again when we are regenerated by the Spirit into a new creation in Christ, the former things having been done away with through the baptism of repentance. Since repentance is an act of the decision of the will, it must be done as an adult, or after the age of accountability. Water baptism profits an infant nothing.
Y’all shouldn’t… there’s no authority for it and it came out of nowhere close to 200 years after Pentecost The apostles didn’t practice it why on earth should we. It’s for believer’s who hear and can acknowledge and make an appeal babies are safe till they can acknowledge and make that decision and his providence will keep them safe or do what’s best if they can’t Heresy
No..baptism and circumsize are 2 different things, baptism is for forgiveness of sin.. also..you are using the old testament when the law of moses was in effect..now is the time of grace..Thank you jesus.. and Crist himself was baptized as an adult.. we all know Crist was here showing us by example..also..the bible in the new testament sais.. to repent and then get baptized in the name of Jesus for forgiveness of sin. He also responded in a verse saying we must be like children because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Meaning children are saved because they dont know right from wrong.
Baby baptism is not a church teaching but a ROME teaching. A misrepresentation taking on the form of literal materialism for something that was completely spiritual based.
Hey Bobby, if your heart is in tune with Christ & you believe in the truthfulness of Christianity, then wouldn't it be stupid not to include your entire family in the Faith, even your babies? Don't let your church teachings pollute your heart & mind bro.
Baptizing unbelievers is Satans proudest accomplishment Thinking you were saved before baptism is also Satan’s proudest accomplishment. We have to repent before we are immersed in Baptism for the forgiveness of our Sins (plural) People read Roman 16:16. The church that christ built has been revealed in that scripture. If your church isn’t found in scripture, then get out. It’s man made. The only real way to know if your a member of the lords church, read the book of Acts, does your faith teach exactly the way the Apostles taught? And if you call yourself’s Catholic, Baptist any name other then Christian, you definitely not in his church
@@lynncantrell2782 I assume you are a true Christian, love Jesus with all your heart and mind & believe that Christianity is the only way to God, so based on that, as a parent wouldn't it be stupid not to include your entire family in that Faith, even your babies? I know I would. It has nothing to do with Catholic or protestant.
@@hamidrabiipour9707 babies can’t be baptized. You have to believe first and then repent before baptism.Babies can’t do that. Also baptism has to come from us. We can’t force it. Has to come from the individual to want to be baptized. Baptism is for the remission of our past sins. No such thing as original sin. We never was born of the sin of Eve. Did I get my sins from my own parents? No. We were born into the world of sin. Which means we will sin, but we are not accountable of our sins as young children
@@hamidrabiipour9707 we teach our children about God and Christ by taking them to church. Of course we include them In our faith. Baptism comes from God not man. The only thing that happens to babies when Catholics do the baptism ceremony, they get wet. Christ does not wash away their sins because they have no sin to wash away
If the Catholic religion and community of people are so wonderful and correct, children would be taught about many traditions and schools of faith and be allowed to make their own choice to join or not join whatever group they want. Infant baptism steals the free will of the child to validate the beliefs and world view of parents.
That’s what confirmation is for. You do that when you’re a teenager. You’re old enough to decide whether you want to confirm your Catholic teachings and beliefs
@@michellebernal5668 um...my Catholic school just said we were 14 and it was time for the whole class to get confirmed, except for the Jewish kid. I never understood what we were doing, just that this is what they said we were doing.
This is foolishness I’ll provide verses to debunk all this when I get off work for those truly interested in the truth 189 😂 ya after persecution and at the end of the age when the apostles stated the church would go astray and split
Way to take 1 Peter 3:21 way out of context to support your doctrine. No not period...read the entire verse. You manipulate the scriptures to prove your doctrine rather than making your doctrine fit the scriptures... I guess OT baby girls didn't get saved since they weren't circumcised. So sad how you have to manipulate the scriptures to try and fit Catholic doctrine. Once again nobody would ever link the church in scripture to the Catholic church if you didn't have the Catholic church telling you that's the Catholic church.
Hey Todd, If you believe in Jesus & the truthfulness of Christianity, then you would want your whole family to be in the faith, even your babies. It has nothing to do with bible knowledge, it has everything to do with Christ knowledge & be in association with him. Just think about it a bit.
Tell me who doesn’t manipulate scriptures. Why are there so many denominations, so many translations of the Bible? Who to say which denomination has the right translation.
Jesus said in Mark 16:16 " He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" a baby cannot believe. In Acts 2:38 Peter said " Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins", a baby cannot repent and does not have sin. In Romans 10 we are told to confess, a baby cannot confess. A baby cannot believe in the DBR of Christ. Col 2:12 says " You were BURIED WITH JESUS IN BAPTISM IN WHICH YOU WERE ALSO RAISED with him THROUGH FAITH..." baptism is a burial and you are raised up in baptism, sprinkling is not baptism, you cannot be buried or raised when sprinkle. Also it said you were raised through faith, a baby cannot believe. In Acts 8:3 it says, " Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he DRAGGED OFF MEN AND WOMEN and committed them to prison". The church is made up of MEN AND WOMEN, a baby is not a man nor a woman. Ezekiel 18:20 " The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father...." if a baby inherits sin, then that means Mary was a sinner at birth......and Jesus said unless you become like a little child, you cannot inherit the kingdom of God.......
No no no No one is saved by baptism alone This guy keeps quoting bring babies But nowhere is it scriptural Let the children come to me Jesus wasn’t baptizing when he said that Infants cannot believe or repent. One can’t save Another by performing a ritual against their own free will Wow
Hahahahaha you must be reading a Protestant bible if you can’t find those verses. Jesus and the apostles mention the need for baptism several times in the gospels
Gross misunderstanding of the scriptures. When one is baptized, they are making a pledge of a good conscience towards the person one is to follow. It is a conscious act, of announcing being a follower. If one is baptized unto Christ, it means one is announcing one is becoming a disciple of Christ, or follower. It involves circumcision of the heart, which only God does. This happens when one experiences regeneration. This happens according to Gods timing, not ours or the person in the video puts it (John 3:8). As far as the 8th day, no one in the Bible was baptized on their 8th day after being born. This person in this video has a gross misunderstanding of the scriptures.
Context of the word. Father is used in English for many things. There are even people called Jesus. Nobody is worshiping a priest. I find protestants to be stupidly amusing
Because YOU are teaching a false doctrine. Infant baptism is NOT in scripture. Baptism is for saved people only. How can a baby come to God as a sinner in a repentant state knowing that they've sinned against God and need His salvation, then believe the Gospel and call on the name of The Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. 2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." KJV. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" KJV Romans 10:8-13 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." KJV.
You are perfectly right on infant baptism. Unbiblical But what else is new with Catholics The use scripture when Tvey want. But honestly could careless what scripture says. Most of them admit that. They are the church. They believe. Wrong. But they think they can write it all as we go along. That the pope, priest ,bishops can write anything new Tvey want too. Catholicism Satans masterpiece
@@lukegroves5506 Its all horrible. People NEED to get out of catholicism. There are many brethren who expose it. For anyone in catholicism compare the CCC Catholic Catechism with the King James Version. Not to self promote, but on my channel I've got videos that I hope that The Lord will guide someone to the truth where I mess up. But the SCRIPTURES DON'T mess up. I use a lot of scriptures to refute catholicism in my series of videos.
Acts 16:15 (RSVCE): And when she was baptized, with her household, she besought us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us. Acts 16:33 (RSVCE): And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds, and he was baptized at once, with all his family. Acts 18:8 (RSVCE): Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with all his household; and many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized. 1 Corinthians 1:16 (RSVCE): 16 (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.) Where does it say that infants were excluded in a household baptism?
Baptism is absolutely for no one incapable of hearing the gospel. If Yiu can’t hear tve gospel Then Yiu can’t believe it. And if you can’t believe it Yiu can’t respond to it It’s that simple Your whole household. Lol Every household goes not have menbers so young Tvey can’t hear and believe They have inserted that infants were part of the household. But no proof In this instance or any other conversion No example of a infant or anyone else being baptized prior to hearing the Gospel We can’t believe what we haven’t heard and understand. That’s why we are told to go spread the gospel to the world So that they might believe Go make disciples, baptizing them A infant can’t be a disciple It is with great intentions a parent wants to get their kids to heaven Duh But raise them in the way of the Lord Teach them. So that they too may bekieve It’s crazy how they understand baptism so well yet twist it to play on parents feelings. Like they can save little Johnny By the way. Baptism. Comes from word Baptiso Meaning full immersion A little water on one’s head is no baptism at all. Infant or grown All tve way down into the water just like we are told. And are taught. By every example in scripture

Fantastic presentation. Many, many thanks Father.
I’ve heard other explanations but never one like this using the Old Testament circumcisions. You made it so easy to understand that if one doesn’t get it it’s because they don’t want to
Yaaa circumscion required different requirements it’s heretical to compare the two and form theology where the apostles didn’t
I’m fact are you aware the apostles taught baptism was for beleivers only that can acknowledge and hear and make an informed decision
There is not one instance of child baptism anywhere in the Bible whatsoever.
Catholicism is evil. Not every one in it but it is heretical I’d steer clear
@@unknown-zy6dp are you aware that it says in scripture that the whole household was baptized. But what does that mean? Wouldn’t kids of any age be considered as members of the household? It doesn’t say only if you have some form of cognizance

Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit)
Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing.
(Born-again)
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
(A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment)
============
Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?
Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13)

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.)
Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
(See Eph. 4:1-5)

And in household they don't have bath's ;) so poring baptism is in account here.

If a baby can be saved based on what the parents decide then no one can be condemned for what their parents did not do.
I was baptised as a baby by sprinkling. A time ago I joked about debaptism as going into water for swimming. I rejected Jesus and Christianity until a few Month ago. Do I have to be baptized again?
Nope! Just a good confession. You will be home!!

They go to heaven. Babies go to heaven.

Okay but what about the ones who have been baptized as babies but doesn't believe in God when they are older ??
If a baby is not baptized because the parents simply don’t believe it’s necessary
Does this mean the child is not saved, confused
These people are so sick on their interpretation
Yiu summed it up. A baby is born and parents have no faith at all. Does that baby die if not baptized. ?

Did you get any more info on this question?
Well then how was a female brought into a relationship with God ????? Prior to baptism ??
baptism should be reserved for those who first make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. This view is known as believer’s baptism, or “credobaptism.”
Jesus was baptized by John (Matthew 3:13-17; Luke 3:21) and taught His disciples to baptize those who repented of their sins, believed in Him, and received salvation in His name (Acts 2:4, 38; 9:17-18; Matthew 28:19).
With all this proof in favor of infant baptism why protestants against baptism of infants. What proof do protestants have to support their claim?
Protestants cannot agree on the matter. Martin Luther and others upheld infant baptism while Baptists and others like them forbid it.
Baptism is to wash you of original sin and enter you into the new covenant with Christ.

There is nothing in the Bible about a "believer's baptism."
Luke 18:15 - Jesus says, “Let the children come to me.” The people brought infants to Jesus that he might touch them.

@@ExposingThePharaohs when they are old enough, they can renounce this gift.

CIRCUMCISION and BAPTISM isn't not the same.❗️
circumcision acts as an outward physical sign of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people.
BAPTISM in the Bible expresses an identification with Christ's death and resurrection-the old self was crucified with Christ (through the waters of death), and now followers of Jesus have risen with him in “newness of life” (Romans 6:3-11.)🙏
Hi Fr. Josh! Just wanted to know why in other sects they have a "dedication day for infants" instead of baptizing their kids..

In Acts 2:38 Peter said " Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins", a baby cannot repent and does not have sin.

Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.)
Where does it say that infants were excluded in a household baptism?
Baptism is absolutely for no one incapable of hearing the gospel. If Yiu can’t hear tve gospel Then Yiu can’t believe it. And if you can’t believe it Yiu can’t respond to it It’s that simple
Your whole household. Lol
Every household goes not have menbers so young Tvey can’t hear and believe
They have inserted that infants were part of the household. But no proof
In this instance or any other conversion
No example of a infant or anyone else being baptized prior to hearing the Gospel
We can’t believe what we haven’t heard and understand. That’s why we are told to go spread the gospel to the world So that they might believe
Go make disciples, baptizing them A infant can’t be a disciple
It is with great intentions a parent wants to get their kids to heaven Duh
But raise them in the way of the Lord Teach them. So that they too may bekieve
It’s crazy how they understand baptism so well yet twist it to play on parents feelings. Like they can save little Johnny
By the way. Baptism. Comes from word Baptiso
Meaning full immersion
A little water on one’s head is no baptism at all. Infant or grown All tve way down into the water just like we are told. And are taught. By every example in scripture
