- Check out this awesome carbon fiber travel guitar by Journey Instruments: journeyinstrum...
Also, they have more traditional wooden travel guitars, which probs sound even better. Consider that if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of indestructability for a better sound.

Thanks so much for taking the time to do this! One day we'll make you proud, Sam 💙
“I’m going off to college and this is all I’m taking. Bye mom thanks for raising me”
🤣
Bro you have the most straightforward and to the point videos while still being great and funny! Its actually really refreshing!!
what is my face doing in a video about a carbon fiber guitar lol
also thank god you like my guitar more, I was sweatin'
I don't think you ever have to worry. You make lovely instruments!!
Good job bro, what a great way to promote your sponsorship.
Could be pretty nice for a festival, or meeting in a park or whatever. I like it
The fucking Pog Evan Emoji is dope
3:45 bee stings don’t phase me. Whipped by a snapped string is true pain
I have fun watching a commercial haha excelente my bro you really have the touch ✨ (sorry my english)
Great video as always bro. Quick question if you don't mind. What strings do you use on your main guitars? You may have mentioned in a video but I don't remember. Thanks dude!
Cool concept and I'm always happy to see classical guitars getting some love and innovation. Two things for me though, first like you said the sound quality definitely takes a hit, but the size of the whole thing isn't even all that smaller. It's a very cool guitar though and like you said it has its uses!
Here in Mexico there's a luthier called Gabriel Hernández, he builds wooden concert guitars for traveling. The neck also disasambles and you can put it in a case. I don't have one myself, but I've seen and heard one of those guitars and they sound great!
If I can actually leave it in my car that would be great. Would be nice to get some practice in on my lunch break.
Absolutely! One of the great perks of carbon fiber is, like Sam said, not having to worry about heat, cold, humidity, etc
Good honest review Sam 👍
Sending healing power to your elbow 🩹
The guitar couldn’t handle the magic.
You don't need to loosen the strings. Mine stays in tune most of the time. Some slight tune ups.
Can't wait to buy one of these so I can put it over my head
Just like God intended
Oh wow that's pretty cool. I don't know if I've seen any travel guitars with the classical headstock before. I haven't really went out looking for them before though lol.
My favorite implementation of the travel guitar is EO-guitar. It folds in half and uses a mandrel to keep consistent tension on the strings. It doesn’t try to make any compromises with sound quality vs compactness, it’s all about that small. Which just means it’s a better traveler!
Googled it, I think it might be the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
@@airixxxx oh but he a smol buddy tho
Snap dragon with evertune seemed really cool too
@@jonw3462 Hadn’t head of them until now, but their Snapaka looks pretty handy! My argument is any full-body travel guitar is too big. The more compact you fan make it, the more likely i will actually travel with it. No one should expect these to sound good, I just want to be able to practice in a hotel room on a full sized fretboard.
@@GuitarJammer if you've never played an evertune bridge it's a game changer.
Googling it again, for £550 that's actually decent, I don't need it but I'm tempted.
Most evertune guitars are around 1k
Only downside is 24 length neck over 25.5 but that's not too crazy, plus it has a zero fret for better intonation and action.
How much do the eo-guitars cost?
I think it sounds pretty good. It doesn't have the volume and projection of the "classical" guitar, but overall pretty clean
I don't know how I missed this, but I appreciate the no-BS review.
arghh, literally just bought a travel guitar! Didn't see this
Thanks for making me spit my coffee out. 👍 good stuff dog 😆
keep going with the videos you rock man!
Yo Sam Bam! Of all your videos where you skool kids on what techniques to use, there's one I haven't seen. How and what do you use to humidify your guitar? Are you willy nilly with just keeping it inside the case or do you have out the case but with some sort of humidifier. Curious what type of hygrometer you actually use. Share the wealth fam!
Sam - can you explain the elbow support you're wearing please? I find the placement of my elbow tendons on the guitar edge leads to discomfort and a bit of stiffness all up along the arm. Does the support help?
It looks like a nice sleeve! Can you link it or tell us what kind please? Thank you.
Protip: just cut the end off a sock
@@GoatFelon hey, thank you for the tip. That definitely helps more than using nothing. I have been cutting off sleeves and socks but Sam's looks like it has a kind of pad in there which would further alleviate the discomfort of the corner of the guitar on the right arm. I think his is a Luva. I've been trying to find it.
I don't really use them myself so I don't know what's out there, but I bet you could layer a few socks up if needed haha. Would probably save a few bucks
@@GoatFelon maybe I'll try and take your advice before I spend 30 plus dollars haha. It looks like the nice padded ones are expensive.
Nice review
Whats the weight of the thing ?
Your guitar is called Zanarkand??
what about a 3/4 guitar??
Mr. Natural is all that i capt from this vid. PEACE
Hello SAM, do you think is possible to play on classic guitar the OST of lady maria in bloodborne? your classical guitar skill is crazy but that is one hell of song to try and make every note, new fan of your channel by the way.
While it isn't as resonant as your wood guy, it really doesn't sound bad at all.
That's a lot of damage!
Hey Sam! You're so cool! Can you please explain *why* the Zanarkand sounds better than the Overhead? I can definitely hear the difference but I've always wanted to know what causes that. Thanks! Please keep up the great work!
The sound quality / tone of a classical guitar comes from the material it is made from (mainly just the top material) and how it was constructed. The player is also a factor, but that variable is the same in this comparison. For classical guitars we generally only use Cedar or Spruce (what Zanarkand is made of) for the guitar top, because the characteristics of these materials create nice sounding guitars. Carbon Fiber doesn't have the qualities we are looking for when selecting good guitar materials, so guitars made with it won't be able to achieve the same sound quality as a spruce or cedar guitar. The durability of CF is the main selling point here.
@@evankingmaguitars Awesome, I went to the player with a question and got the answer from the maker! Thanks for your succinct explanation.
@Narshe J for a classical guitar, it is great for the neck or back and sides, but you wouldn't really want to use it for the top for the same reason mentioned above.
I actually didn't dislike the sound of it, certainly not as resonant and dramatic as the wood one but still sounded pleasant
nice vid, you can easily take some plastic polish, or some turtle wax and rub the back of the neck and bring it to a gloss finish. I do it to all my necks becuase I have dry hands as well
Damn what happened? Xd
"No views" so i must have been first , right?
KLOS >>>> journey
I liked it but I had to unlike it cuz it was at 69 and I'm sorry
I can now like it without ruining the funny number
