trade Aiyuk for sure. But Aiyuk went public with a trade request.
That started this whole mess. The niners do not have to trade Aiyuk, but made the mistake of allowing.Aiyuk's agent to explore a trade.
They called his bluff and were caught off guard

Whatever it is, split the gd difference and play some football. Don’t let this be a petty ego thing about who “wins” because the actual truth is that BOTH SIDES will take GIANT L’s if it doesn’t get done. It would be the football equivalent of the old Car War acronym MAD (mutually assured destruction).
And hopefully both sides can stop negotiating in the media.
If the report they were asking for 2 firsts is correct.... that would make sense if they were never wanting to trade him. Put out an outrageous demand knowing the Steelers will never meet your demands
Truth Is, WR Brandon "Aiyuk" for two first round picks is officially on the table as one of the options from the Pittsburgh Steelers. "Aiyuk" knows what "game" this really is behind the scenes. Also on the official table is WR Davante Adams coming to the San Francisco 49ers from the Las Vegas Raiders if "Aiyuk" only nets the San Francisco 49ers just a 2nd Round Pick.
