Tested the ZF6 for a few miles. If you need any heel guidance, or have even slight overpronation tendencies, note that the ZF6 has *serious* lateral bias and does not handle medial pressure from your foot well at all. While some can get around this by only doing fast workouts - and the ZF6 *is* designed and marketed as a speed training shoe, so this is completely fair so far as design goes - you'll be limited to *only* speed workouts if you have any heel guidance needs or even slight posterior or midfoot overpronation tendencies. And that's only granted you actually supinate more at speed. This of course especially relevant for heel strikers, somewhat for midfoot strikers but probably not at all for forefoot strikers. If you supinate naturally, this will probably feel heavenly to you, and just fine if you're absolutely 100% neutral in your pronation. I had to return them despite being a 90% neutral runner, because my heel kept sliding inwards and collapsing the medial heel. Thanks for the video.
It's like someone at Nike sat down and watched a hundred reviews of the ZF5 and designed the ZF6 to resolve all the issues. It's so good! Night and day better than the ZF5.
@@MrMoevawda it is wide but hugs your foot, it felt narrow first time I wore mine, but after wearing it around the house it broke in so fast fits like a glove.
@MrMoevawda I went with my normal size 8 and they are fine. I have plenty of room in the front end. I laced them right up to the final loop to prevent any heel slip
Just got the Kipchoge color way and still early on and did first run on the treadmill. At first feel it definitely feels light compared to previous versions I owned (ZF3 & ZF4) which were heavy and ran like bricks. This one definitely is a complete overhaul for the better. To me initial thoughts are it feels like a higher stack Voomero 17 that you can pick up the pace in. Fit was true to size and comfortable. It's so far a nice shoe and also felt comfortable in slower paces. Like the look but this is what the ZF should've been 1-2 versions ago and Nike is behind the 🎱 when it comes to the super-trainer category compared to the rest.
Not quite as bouncy and wild, but def the best shoe of this type since the Tempo, though I have to admit I'm just going on memory of that shoe, been a while since I had it here to use!
I have a couple pair of the Tempo Next % with life left in them. The Zoom 6 doesn't feel anywhere near as bouncy nor does it have the propulsion. And the fit is entirely different - fits more like a court shoe to me; super built up upper/heel collar.
@ that’s disappointing to hear. I’ve been looking for something like the tempo since it’s been gone and nothing has felt as good for me. It just had speed that others don’t.
@@Rockondevilthe closest I found is the AF3. But for lower price, the Mach X2 is pretty great. (And I absolutely love The Cielo X1...it's $$$ but well worth it.)
@ I should try the AF3. It has the similar look. I have the AF1 but my forefoot hangs off slightly and gives serious rubbing/pain. Only shoes to have ever done that.
on my long run this morning i spotted an old woman (in her 60s or so) wearing a pair of these, she seemed to be jogging at around a 10min/mile pace or so. I wanted to stop and ask what she thought but she seemed to have liked them since she was running in them for well over an hour lol
We might try and do a podcast on the topic, but deals are local (our audience is split across a few countries) and can go in and out of availability so might have to focus on shoes we'd expect to drop in price - classics like the Glycerin, Pegasus, Kayano etc
Thanks for the honest review Nick, I've still got a pair of Tempo Next% but know that they will need to be replaced eventually, so these look like a possible option. Are there any rumours of a replacement Tempo Next% ?
@@daveburns3955 my 2 cents; I have both shoes and the Z6 is nothing like the Tempo Next %. I love the Tempo, the Z6 feels ok for protective thick underfoot, but no rocker feeling or bounce and the upper couldn't be more different (feels like a court shoe upper). But it's super comfy for walking!
Very interested. I have the Endorphin Speed 4 and while it works great as a speed/track shoe, it doesnt offer as much protection as I would want for up-tempo long runs. Looking at the Mach X 2, Superblast 2, or this as my next potential super-trainer
I have the Speed 3, and agree it's too firm for long miles, and a little too squishy at high speed. I returned the Superblast 2 (No roll, prob better for heel strikers where the heel has the spring). I like the Zoom 6 much much better (I have a fairly narrow low volume foot), and I also love the Mach X 2, but proper lockdown on it is a little less comfy)
I'm trying to find out whether the insoles on the 6 are easily removable as I replace with my custom insoles. They are on the 4 but not on the 5 whereby they're sewn in IIRC. Any guidance appreciated.
I bought this shoe, completed some decent Milage and really didn’t like it! Felt flat and lifeless! I also have the magic speed 4 and far better for the purpose of a training shoe, zoomfly 6 tried tested and sold on
I'm kind of a heel striker and I LOVE this! The cushioning is great and the transition to the forefoot is very smooth and comfortable. It's not terribly wide at the heel though.
@johnholst txn but i have the zoom fly 5 and it was the best shoe for me as a true hell striker but i tried the alpha fly 3 and it was terrible for me and they look like the zoom fly 6 this is why im asking
Been waiting for this. I always wait for the Run Testers reviews before making a decision
Same here
Appreciate it, thanks!

You are one of the best reviewer of running shoes on the internet
Thanks very much!
I have these and im loving them. Knocked a minute off my 5k for a new PB today. They feel really good at 4.30/km pace
Hows the space in the front of the shoe? Is it wide enough?

Nice shoe and a decent price tag … will pick up a pair
yupii, finally you put a card with the runner details! Probably not the only one suggesting it :). Thanks!
My favorite runners 🤝🏾
Thank you Nick 👌

Definitely been lacking a shoe like this for a few years, since the original Endorphin Speed came out really
Can you please compare them to the Mach X2 and Speed 4?
The Tempo Next % is my favourite shoe and I’ve been missing it so much since my last pair passed on.
You might’ve sold me with that final comment.

Curious to see if these could make a good “budget” marathon racing shoe for people running in the 3-4 hour range.
Actually i think it does. It’s friendlier for slower paces
First comment!
Can you guys do a Black Friday best deal related video? I love running shoes but today’s prices are insane!

Which shoes are better at faster tempo. The Fly6 or the Endorphin speed 4?
Hmm… hearing lots of good things about these. I realise it’s plate vs no plate but how do these compare to the Superblast 2? Grip looks good.
Could you speak also about the grip? I am looking for not slippery ones as I run on marble (yep), sometimes wet pavements of Turin, Italy
The biggest negative I’ve seen is the soft foam and plate in the forefoot make the forefoot harsh at longer distances.
Zoom fly 6 or Endorphin Speed 4? Looking for a dedicated tempo shoe for a rotation
Very interested. I have the Endorphin Speed 4 and while it works great as a speed/track shoe, it doesnt offer as much protection as I would want for up-tempo long runs. Looking at the Mach X 2, Superblast 2, or this as my next potential super-trainer
5 years ago endorphin speed would have been considered plenty of protection. Goes to show how soft this generation is now

How stable is it?

Hello, is the zf6 suited for a mid-frontfoot striker with a little overweight (85 kg) 😅 ? Thanks a lot!
Hello. How does it compere it with the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 ? Regards
is the Nike Zoom Fly 6 better than the Saucony Endorphin speed 4?
Will do comparisons like this in the full review, too early to say until I've done a range of runs in it
@@TheRunTestersthank you Nick. I really appreciate all the reviews you guys all do.
Some said they felt some uncomfortable feeling/pain in the forefoot area - any feeling/experience in a similar way?
you didn't watch the video did you?
No pain nope, found it very comfortable
Is the upper the same as the Pegasus Turbo 1?
I bought this shoe, completed some decent Milage and really didn’t like it! Felt flat and lifeless! I also have the magic speed 4 and far better for the purpose of a training shoe, zoomfly 6 tried tested and sold on
I have the Magic speed 4 as well - not the best super trainer out there but ASICS just has a knack for making comfortable performance trainers.
@ I agree and the fact you even put it the supershoe category pays it a massive compliment, as it’s a training session shoe .
Looks very much like an Alphafly... More slap, slap?!?
Not as noisy as the Alpha but still slappy
Waiting to see these on shelves in America?
Running Warehouse had had for sometime now...
Is it good for heel strikers?

Can men use or wear women shoes? Is that the same durability or performance? Cause some colors are not available at men shoes 😅
Hopefully Nike continue to produce some more decent non elite trainers. Love my AF and VF’s but other than these they’ve lost interest.
