Let it be known Mast, I mainly watch you for your lighthearted commentary. To many try hard like myself, just nice to hear someone having fun and being good at the game.
Never thought I'd be in a Mast game, I was the Trapper in this game and it was my first time playing him. I was trying to figure out how to play his kit for most of the game as a Goo/McGinnus main it's really different.
Calico is super fun from what little I’ve played her, I like rapid recharge on the 2 because you can just keep sticking to people constantly while sneaking in unparryable melee damage. If they fix it getting caught in the geometry it’ll feel SO good. You compared it to a worse Yamato 2 but the fact that it’s a worse Yamato 2 *with charges* matters, it makes you such a pest to get away from. The 3 is fun too, throwing it down right as you engage to get the debuffs on the enemy is fine but it’s extra fun when you get an enemy to chase you back to somewhere where you already had one or two up and then turn on them. The days of car wash Calico were hilarious but the ability is much healthier now. I’d actually say the 1 is the odd bit out of her kit, it’s probably there so she has some kind of range option but the fact that it carries people away from you when you mostly want them close is a bit awkward. Her kit could feel cohesive if it had some functionality together with her 3, like marking enemies to take more damage from it or making it so the enemy you hit with it is prioritized by the ward for a bit no matter who you hit. But yeah, I love Calico’s kit and hopefully they cook just a little more. Would be crazy if she got like some spirit scaling on her melees lol.
if they change either the 1 or the 3, then her kit would feel much more cohesive. depending on how you look at it you could argue that either one don't quite fit her intended playstyle. I would love if they changed the 1 so that the cat doesn't originate from Calico and runs forward, but instead starts behind an enemy and runs toward Calico - this would allow it to push targets to you and get them into melee range. and as you mention, some kind of spirit scaling melee damage would be super cool and unique for her. maybe they could add it to her 2 in some way - like landing 2 gives her a few seconds of added spirit damage/scaling to her punches? idk, I just think there's something here that could make her more unique. overall her design is really damn good.
Her 3 should do the same thing as the turret, but originating from the cat on her shoulder for a shorter duration. Kinda like a weaker, longer range single target abrams book. Actually more like geist 2 with less healing that can swap targets.
I think spirit snatch isnt meant for the actual melee champs, but for the spirit champs that get up close and personal, to get them to “get in there” Bebop and Viscous proc it with abilities, yamato, pocket, shiv and warden all sneak light melees in. There should be some more incentive on melee champs tho
Last time i tried in sandbox, weapon and melee damage modifiers don't work on Calico's pounce. I also feel like her primary fire is not worth using against other players, altfire is so much more damage. Also, her cats benefit from Heroic Aura passive AND active.

I think your underestimating Calicos 3. In most other moba's vision items exist available to everyone generally, however this is the first thing to my knowledge in this game that can provide vision. The fact that its first upgrade makes it invis is crazy a free vision ward every 30s for 90 that cant be seen that alone for to me makes it her best ability.
I think it's easier to get into than other mobas honestly. There are a lot more mechanics and things to keep track of but you just pick them up as you go.
While I do agree on Strike being more than plenty and Snatch not being as fantastic, just dropping a 3K on an item that already boosts the most significant damage a smidge further (incl. for teammates) doesn't seem like a bad idea, no? Do I just not DL's econ? hhhh
Yeah idk what Mast is talking about Snatch is goated. Its basically a spirit armor in a purple slot since you are taking resist and damage and giving it to yourself
I wont even flame you for playing this dookie MAST, you threw up three Smite vids and many of us appreciate it (I still think you should just be playing Smite 1 btw).

How were you able to enable the UI on enemies to show what abilities you can cast on them? (like the red diamond w/ the ability) :p
That only shows for abilities that have an auto lock feature, Shivs ult for example. Same with vipers venom!

her wards dont attack automatically like mcg turrets, u have to shoot a person for the ward to help you/ deal dmg in some other way
