Thia Megia is a Filipina-American born in the San Francisco Bay Area. She can understand Tagalog but can't speak it according to her official YT account.
She was a contestant on America Got Talent Season 4 and was one fot eh heavy Favorites to win. She remains the most controversial Top 24 finalist to be ousted in the show this season.

She has an amazing control of her voice and a gorgeous vibrato. I could listen to her voice for hours... it actually sounds like candy. Super talented girl - I wish her all the best on AI.

She has a jazzy sound, uniquely identifiable to her. If that voice comes out in the radio right now, I would be able to tell it is Thia singing.
Charice is no doubt amazing and nothing less. However, I love Thia so much too. Her voice, something about it grabs you and draws you in. Makes you wanna listen to her more and more. Perfect example of a soulful singing without having to belt and go all diva like. I love both Thia and Charice!!!

@touchstone48 This is what happen. Each cities where the David Foster & friends concert was playing has two singers that competes to be a finalist of the singing contest. Thia competed in Vancouver and she won. That evening all the finalists from the other cities were there also. David Foster then picked the ultimate winner and it was a young man who was an opera singer.

THIA/CHARICE: Why do people always compare? Can you not just be happy for both of them? Isn't it enough that BOTH of them tries to ENTERTAIN all of us? Each individual has their own TALENTS and it's a blessing to us coz THEY SHARE IT. We're lucky that WE CAN HEAR, SEE & FEEL these awesome TALENTS that they SHARE to us. Let me clear this once and for all. David Foster had a signing contest and he invited all the finalist to come to Vancouver to compete. Vancouver was the last stop of the "David Foster & Friends concert." Thia was a finalist and yes David Foster screwed up her name and where she is from. The winner was a young man who was an opera singer.

they did... for one week they got to choose any song they want.... but most of them messed up, i forgot what thia chose.
and besides, even if there is a theme, they can still choose any song they want. for example, the Beatles and Elton John. TONS of songs to choose from
Competition wise, purely from performances & display of strengths, James has done the best. During the two weeks where they really did get to choose their own songs without themes and producers to guide them( or restrict). James did 2 songs that showed his strengths and both just as good as each other. He is not my favourite voice though. Thia's voice is my favourite =). Second favourite is Jacob =) (best song in top24 week + Motown, but not in personal idol week)

@luckynumba7ivory Man, they're both good. Thia's on top ten now and the judges is always amused by her naturally good performances. Scotty is my favorite too.

If she showed this on AI, I'm sure she would've gotten a lot further. I agree, she needs to get on The Voice. Her tone is everything. I want to see her get big. :(

Thia, Lauren, Pia, Casey, Scotty, Karen, Paul, in my opinion had their best performances in Top 24 week, where there was no restriction and no producer influence.these ppl knew how to show their strengths.
