My 1981 MR50 was standing for years I want to drive it again I found that it's compression is lw 60psi so I need to do this too. How much did this cost you? I need a 2 oversized piston kit. It doesnt want to start. It have good spark and a new carb. I'm scare to take off the cylinder head to see what piston it takes. I will need the cheapest one that would work. Oem will be too expensive
what precautions should I take when riding after a new installation ? should I ride with low rpm and avoid uphill rides ? should I let the bike work for 15/20 mins for the parts to adjust or ?
start it, let it idle, 15 min later shut off, let it cool, do it again 2 times, let cool, take for a spin, avoid high rpm and 2 rides later it should be good to rip
As in making sure to lubricate the parts before reassembly to help prevent any scoring on the inside of the cylinder bore. So just wipe the piston and rings in 2 stroke oil before putting in the barrel.
Not really, I think the transmission is sticking BC the rollers don't have enough weight to change down to a lower gear ratio. I can temporarily fix it by fitting a strong contraspring however it looses its torque and the same problem occurs again after a month
Eeyy help me!! In 6:20 you have the piston on the rod! And at 6:50 somewher there you put it out again and u say smthng for the piston rigns explain this to me i must put first the piston rings in the cylinder or no
Just put the rings on fist, then install one gudgeon pin clip and slide the gudgeon pin through the con rod and piston. You can then Install the second gudgeon clip as seen at 6:50
Place the first ring on top of the piston. Gradually push it down until it reaches the second groove ( if it has two rings) then repeat for the next ring but put in the groove closest to the top of the piston Yes there are two retaining clips beside the piston that you need to put on after is is installed on the rod and gudgeon pin. You may then squeeze the rings tight to the piston so that it sides in the cylinder much easier. Note 4 hands help this operation. If you are unsure about any of this that I have explained I would recommend looking at a different video as I wouldn't want you to mess it up. Hope this helps
@@THECOOLGUYBOB yes you help me something else umm the piston rigns has any symbol says me wich one is for which groove? Or i take any ring i want and put it anywhere i want

@watermelonwatermelon6513 thats what I figured, did exactly that and looking forward to new mods
@@evansteph good, wish you best, and that was exactly how i was breaking in my 80cc watercooled 2 stroke.
@watermelonwatermelon6513 arent 2 strokes usually 70cc?
@@evansteph i have an old mtx 80 dirtbike, its a honda from 1983 with a 6 gear manual, pretty fast racer!
Hello, I have a scooter called Yamaha basic jog model SA24J it has a 49cc cylinder, can I change it for more? And how much can I change?
Nice video! I have the same scooter
Thanks dude, good choice it never lets me down
Do U know if those rims fit the 04/05 zuma?
You said soaking the piston and cylinder in 2 stroke. What do you man by that

@@THECOOLGUYBOB thank you👍😁
Nice video! Did you ever fix that problem of power loss when warm? Got the same problem.

@@THECOOLGUYBOB What rollers do you have?
@@THECOOLGUYBOB it might be carburator settings
@@drinksnag500 I'm running it rich atm just to be safe as I cracked a piston a few months back although the plug looks good ( golden brown)
