I’ve loved this whole series, I hope you document some of your other walks across countries! What app do you use to track where you’ve been staying and route?
Oh, and I just used Maps.Me as it is reasonably detailed and allowed me to download the maps onto my phone ahead of time. I didn't use it to find accommodation though - that I just did on the fly.
I was trying out my equipment and thought if I made my emergency space blanket into a sleeping bag I could travel with my Summer bag instead of my winter bag to save weight. I went to sleep and I woke up 2 hours later with the inside of the space blanket/bag soaking wet and my sleeping bag about to become a soggy mess. I was warmer, but the Mylar has no breathability. I read about people saying "Don't put your sleeping bag inside the Mylar" and ignore them thinking they didn't know what they were talking about. I was wrong, I learnt my lesson. 😀👍
Oh wow, I had no idea. But then again, I'm not surprised I didn't; and the advice does on the face of it make sense. I can't remember if my clothes were damp in the morning... perhaps they were a bit.
i got caught off guard, thinking it was getting close to the end but not prepared for it to be the last episode. When I saw how close you were to the end and that there was still 5 or 6 mins left in the vid, i started to get anxious wondering if it was in fact your last episode. i felt sad. for a moment i had a strange sense of empathy and perhaps felt some of the emotions you felt getting close to the end of such an amazing experience. the sense of accomplishment, the inability to at that moment process the enormity and scale of the trip, the relief, happiness and sadness. To add to the strange moment, I had a meta experience whereby i felt you were traveling there on my behalf - what i mean is, i watched another vlogger cycle from north to south japan a few years back and some of the scenery you showed i recognised from his footage. so, it felt like i was actually visiting and thinking wow, so i'm actually here where he was only a few years ago - hey wait a minute, im not actually here lol the power of storytelling and the sharing power of the net - incredible. im going to stop now as i will soon, if not already will start to sound a lil... less than sane. can't wait and also very sad to see your last instalment. :) :(
Mate, you're too kind! I'm genuinely glad you empathise with the series. And trust me, I felt the same anxiety editing the episode. Even to the extent that I am putting off editing the final one haha. It has taken me as long to edit as it did to walk, so it's like I embarked on the trip again...
Thank you. I did very little planning beforehand, if any. The only thing I would typically map out would be the following 3 days or so, just to ensure I had access to food and water (and ideally a place to sleep). I knew I had to get a visa extension after three months so closer to the time I started looking into this.

Thank you so much! My hike across Slovenia will be coming soon - fortunately that was a much shorter walk so it won't be as long...

The rainbow in the sky is called a sun dog.
You always nail the music and imagery. It was cool seeing the wild life. Fun fact: All rainbows are circles!
I'm always worried about the music, so I'm glad you like it! :)
@@LetsTrySomethingNew The music has been awesome really assisting the story and scenery. You're a talented and inspiring individual. 😀
