    21/11/4/1/4 shooting 80% from the free-throw line this year.
    He won rookie of the year and was runner up and defensive player of the year and he has openly said that he was not satisfied with his play this year. Not only that but it has been said that he absorbs and just wants to learn and has a great work ethic. Now he’s going into the summer and one of the most well front offices that know how to develop players. And he’s going to be playing in France with the four-time defensive player of the year as his teammate who undoubtably is going to teach him things. Do you understand how crazy he’s going to be next year?

      After the All Star Break, he played 22 games and had 23.5/12/5.5/1.5/4.5 with 34 minutes. It proves his production didn't fall with more time on the floor. With a good PG and more spacing, next season will be something. DPOY and MIP. The draft will say if Pop's tanking was right. Spurs can be a playoff team. No doubt.

    • @OhDuur
      @OhDuur 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@Ebriel0000000 good point those stats are already his base for the next season. I don't think he's going to make more than 4 blocks per game because players in the league are going to avoid him more and more (they already started tbh). But I'm convinced he'll be above the 25 pts if they get a good PG in the team. 12 rbds and 5 to 6 assists sound reasonable

    • @GuillaumeRx
      @GuillaumeRx 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@OhDuurhe’s going for 25-27 ppg.
      Then 12/5.5/4.5/1.5.
      Seems realistic, confident, almost conservative.
      Summer NBA training, draft, organic improvement and understanding of the game from him and his young team.
      Better team cohesion.
      Mentorship from Batum and Gobert in the Olympics.
      +3 minutes per game (+10%), and minus the 20 games of experiment/tanking with no PG.
      I can see a leap ala sophomore Lebron or Luka.
      Oh, and he’ll probably shoot 35%+ on the whole season (which he’s what he was at after the ASB) at the three with better shot selection and training, plus the game slowing down for him with experience.

      There’s a 0% chance that happens. He could potentially become good enough to where he COULD drop 100 but I don’t think he has it in him to shoot 50+ shots in a single game - especially considering that he is on the San Antonio Spurs who are historically centred around ball movement. Although, that could maybe change when Pop retires.
      To be honest, I don’t know if the record is gonna be broken anytime soon because if somebody has 80, they’re getting quadruple teamed. Players don’t want to be known as Jalen Rose or Mo Pete (I know they’re good players but Kobe’s 81 kinda tarnished their reputation, especially Jalen)

But if Victor Wembanyama also wins the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award next year or anytime in the future, this distinction will put him in a category with ONLY Michael Jordan. The only award that LeBron James doesn’t have in his house is the NBA Hakeem Olajuwon Defensive Player of the Year Award because it’s been in Michael Jordan’s house since 1988. To be honest I feel like most generational bigs are expected to average close to 20 and 10 their rookie year.
    His length and movement made me expect 3 blocks per game so that didn’t necessarily surprise me either.
    His durability seems to be better than plenty thought and is what surprised me the most.
    He still didn’t improve the win total though, definitely has a bright future regardless and deserves his flowers.
