All the unnecessary things in life that you are spending money on, I would save your money and focus on buying any 360 games or consoles that you want today. I am grabbing every game that I wanted as a kid but did not get, and most are very cheap. But there are a bunch that have risen in price like crazy, it is only going to go up from here.
People forget the 360 had, and honestly still does have solid exclusives. Not as good as the original Xbox, but far better than the “exclusives” Microsoft has now. Games like Ninja Gaiden 2 (that is still a one of a kind action game to this day) alone was enough for me to buy a 360.
Ninja Gaiden 2 has a sigma version on PS3, and it's part of the PS4 trilogy now too. But the biggest difference between the 360 versio , and the one's the PlayStation eventually got, is the gore. There is way more blood and dismembering in the 360 version.

Actually brilliant, sir! I saw some of these games for the first time and your analysis is really spot on for the ones I have familiarity with. The Xbox 360 is never going to die (physically, they might) but because of the fans, the exclusives, and wide spectrum of releases (physical and digital) it will remain a classic for another 25 years.
I have an RGH xbox 360 and I've been looking for people to play OTHER games, other than black ops 2. I have an Xbox one x, but recently I've fallen back in love with my 360, I just wish it was easier to play with more people through the system link.
To anyone who has a 360 slim please don't buy a stupid external hard drive. Just upgrade the old one it takes any laptop sized 2.5 Hdd and you just need to fit it on the connector and add spacers on each side so it can't wiggle

Despite all of the problems that occurred with Xbox 360 in the beginning, I have to say that the Xbox360 generation of gaming has to be one of my favorite of all time!! Everything about it felt so new, fresh and fun at the time and all the games for the most part were quality.
Fantastic video - I love this format - a bunch of mini-reviews of games that probably flew under people's radar at the time. I loved that you gave Steel Battalion a chance. I honestly didn't.... I should go back and play it, it looks not bad. Same with Ninja Blade. I think I played demos of both and never really played them after that.
Based video as always esp on you mentioning Neverdead, Ninja Blade, Deadly premonition and Steel Batallion. Wanna also say in terms of 360 games, Ace Combat 6 is great and one of the best games on that platform and the Armored Core games released that gen play great on the 360.
Last week I got my Xbox 360 back from a modder, and let me tell you, I never want to go back to a stock system. It can run whatever you want and even bring back that classic Blades dashboard.
I love all my xbox 360s Of course you have to have at least one from each region to play all the games. And who can forget the 5 Gamerscore stack of Ninetry Nine Nights 2 and Bioshock. It's still my favorite console by the sheer amount of content that is avaiable. I would really be sad if indeed they would turn of the live function for it. Loved these retrospectives. Well done.
My fav console of all time, I had 3-4 of them that died in the early years, but later models were a much better quality, my 2009 model still works but I’m afraid it will die on me any day now😩
Amazing video, I was shocked to find out that the Kinect Steel Battalion is worth my time, but I am so damn excited to try it out now. Would you mind going even more in-depth with Japanese exclusive 360 games? I've always found it fascinating that the VERY American Xbox 360 had a TON of Japanese exclusive games, and a lot of them are region free (Virtual-On Force). I'd be curious what are worth playing and what are region locked. I own Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation: Troy, but have yet to play it due to the region locking... :(

The concept of being an antivirus fighting a virus to preserve precious memories of a sentient being is SO. GOOD. Seeing them relive or lose their memories in real time based off your performance could really impact the tension or feeling good for doing a good job. I'm so excited by this idea

Some other 360 games that are worth checking out: Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4 (stuck on 360) Gears series (all on Series X and 2 and 3 are in 4K) Ridge Racer 6 (looks great on Series X with auto HDR) Dead or Alive 4 (BC on Series X) I know you like licensed games so you should check out Peter Jackson's King Kong as well. It's fantastic and from Michel Ancel, creator of Rayman.
Another console retrospective from Hikiko, another list of games I need to track down before they become crazy expensive. Another game that should be on the list is the original Saints Row. Some may decry it for the series at being its most "GTA-clone" status at that point, even though they were working on the game before San Andreas came out, but also because the first game is still exclusive to Xbox consoles and the first 3-4 entries made tons of references to it storywise. Physical copies also go for fairly cheap, and it goes on sale digitally for 2-3 dollars frequently!
a shame there's no easy way to mod them, already had a disc drive die on one so I need to figure something out soon to get backups going, too many good games on this platform to give it up like Ace Combat 6 (literally bought a x360 flight stick just for this ONE game, it's that good) Thanks for another amazing video Hikiko! I still use mines and the fact that I own a Xbox One X, Xbox Series X and a Original Xbox. Feb 7th 2023 they delisted 40 games on the Xbox 360 store I'm not sure if this means that the store is going away slowly.

Great video! I love the 360. I enjoy collecting the controller variants as the 360 controller is probably my favorite video game controller out there. Also, I have started playing games on other systems to only stop so I could pick up a 360 copy for the achievements and gamer score. All around great system/platform.
Even with some titles being missing, I'd still rather play original Xbox and 360 games on a Series X in 2023. Some are enhanced to an incredible degree and there's all the last gen + current gen games to play as well.

The xbox 360 UI you say is ugly is 1000x better than the horrendous wannabe online only UI in xbox one and series consoles. The new xbox UI is totally NOT scaled for a TV it is a vertical phone UI. I love the 360 UI compared to what we have now. Everything went so badly down hill at the end of the 360 with no investment in exclusives and the development of the disappointing xbox one. With Microsoft dropping all interest in games late in the 360 generation let the PS3 win the generation with its consistent focus on high quality games
7th gen was fun, Doritos Crash Course was a fun addictive game. i got Final Fantasy XIII for the 360 instead of the PS3, even though i could've bought the PS3 version, but i already had several RPGS for PS3.

I actually am quite enjoying Operation Darkness. It’s niche and niche for a reason, but if you want an extremely difficult, unforgiving, but satisfying combat system, this is the game for you. I’m nearing the end of the game, and yes, it is very difficult, but most of the time failures seem like a product of a lack of skill or choosing poor perks for the character. I do dislike how using magic attacks and moving are not possible in the same turn tho.

Great timing, I just bought my first Xbox 360 a few weeks back, an Xbox 360 e model. I have copies of Akai Katana, Dodonpachi Resurrection, Death Smiles which I had been meaning to look at for a while. Akai Katana finally just got rereleased so it's no longer trapped there.
even though i still dont have an xbox one i still hang onto the 360 for that there is still many things that you cant play on the newer xbox's. but i will say as much as i like the 360 i sadly never owned one in its prime because i had no idea how much interesting games they had since everyone i knew that had one only played your usual generic 360 games (you know the ones) and also does not help that they never promoted many Japanese titles well. but after discovery what i was missing i can say im glad to have played a bunch. never knew deep purple sang the boss theme for blue dragon thats amazingly hilarious and Ninja Blade i enjoyed what i played but sadly i ran into a glitch where i could not continue for the next QTE or cutscene would not load so i had to stop playing for the time but i do want to go back to it i actually got operation darkness recently and started to play it and i have to say i actually like it but i will admit the graphics are pretty ugly for 360 standards and i actually never died during those early missions. the mission losing condition later is much more forgiving but sadly some of those early characters can die off for good like the old fire emblem games if your not careful. also 1 thing idk if you knew but you can equip skills to your characters and there is one where if a character has any healing items on them and they die or their health is super low they will auto heal wish makes it much easier to play. i do agree that the game should not be as expensive as it to own a copy of and its also not going to be for everyone but i still have fun with it weirdly enough. very well done video and classy way to end with the King games
bro i went to a gamestop near my house cause i wanted to spend 300 bucks in videogames, i ended up buying a 2nd hand 360 , 2 controllers, Ninja gaiden 2, Tenchu Z, Ninja Blade, RDR complete nightmare, Gow saga, some random halos i grabbed without knowing about them ,WET and a funny goofy Fist of the North star Kens fury 2, and some exclusive RPG titles i couldnt care less, Lost Odyssey, Enchanted arms and another one i cant remember, dude insisted that these were hard to find so i bought them anyway 😂 dont care if i got scammed , the boxarts looked cool like final fantasy games All of that for less than 300 euros and i could still go the KFC a buy a full combo menu

For as bizzare a game as deadly premonition is, that final act seriously caught me off guard, certain things are a lot more serious in contrast to pretty much everything else in the game.

If GameStop was smart, they would start selling Xbox and Xbox 360 games with a stickers indicating if it’s backwards compat with the Series X/S
they did for a brief moment, but GS uses generic box art sometime which doesn't identify BC games.

The xbox 360 UI you say is ugly is 1000x better than the horrendous wannabe online only UI in xbox one and series consoles. The new xbox UI is totally NOT scaled for a TV it is a vertical phone UI. I love the 360 UI compared to what we have now. Everything went so badly down hill at the end of the 360 with no investment in exclusives and the development of the disappointing xbox one. With Microsoft dropping all interest in games late in the 360 generation let the PS3 win the generation with its consistent focus on high quality games

7th gen was fun, Doritos Crash Course was a fun addictive game. i got Final Fantasy XIII for the 360 instead of the PS3, even though i could've bought the PS3 version, but i already had several RPGS for PS3.

I actually am quite enjoying Operation Darkness. It’s niche and niche for a reason, but if you want an extremely difficult, unforgiving, but satisfying combat system, this is the game for you. I’m nearing the end of the game, and yes, it is very difficult, but most of the time failures seem like a product of a lack of skill or choosing poor perks for the character. I do dislike how using magic attacks and moving are not possible in the same turn tho.
I'm more of a Disgaea guy, personally.

I have a launch 2005 Xbox 360 console that lasted 17 years before it red ringed. Just had a Korean GPU installed in it and it’ll never red ring again. Hate me but I love the launch 2005 console
Great timing, I just bought my first Xbox 360 a few weeks back, an Xbox 360 e model. I have copies of Akai Katana, Dodonpachi Resurrection, Death Smiles which I had been meaning to look at for a while. Akai Katana finally just got rereleased so it's no longer trapped there.

even though i still dont have an xbox one i still hang onto the 360 for that there is still many things that you cant play on the newer xbox's. but i will say as much as i like the 360 i sadly never owned one in its prime because i had no idea how much interesting games they had since everyone i knew that had one only played your usual generic 360 games (you know the ones) and also does not help that they never promoted many Japanese titles well. but after discovery what i was missing i can say im glad to have played a bunch.
never knew deep purple sang the boss theme for blue dragon thats amazingly hilarious and Ninja Blade i enjoyed what i played but sadly i ran into a glitch where i could not continue for the next QTE or cutscene would not load so i had to stop playing for the time but i do want to go back to it
i actually got operation darkness recently and started to play it and i have to say i actually like it but i will admit the graphics are pretty ugly for 360 standards and i actually never died during those early missions. the mission losing condition later is much more forgiving but sadly some of those early characters can die off for good like the old fire emblem games if your not careful. also 1 thing idk if you knew but you can equip skills to your characters and there is one where if a character has any healing items on them and they die or their health is super low they will auto heal wish makes it much easier to play. i do agree that the game should not be as expensive as it to own a copy of and its also not going to be for everyone but i still have fun with it weirdly enough.

bro i went to a gamestop near my house cause i wanted to spend 300 bucks in videogames, i ended up buying a 2nd hand 360 , 2 controllers, Ninja gaiden 2, Tenchu Z, Ninja Blade, RDR complete nightmare, Gow saga, some random halos i grabbed without knowing about them ,WET and a funny goofy Fist of the North star Kens fury 2, and some exclusive RPG titles i couldnt care less, Lost Odyssey, Enchanted arms and another one i cant remember, dude insisted that these were hard to find so i bought them anyway 😂 dont care if i got scammed , the boxarts looked cool like final fantasy games
All of that for less than 300 euros and i could still go the KFC a buy a full combo menu

Masterpiece upload from the master. Shame 360 hardware was so unreliable. Even my elite, my fourth 360, has disc drive issues.

For as bizzare a game as deadly premonition is, that final act seriously caught me off guard, certain things are a lot more serious in contrast to pretty much everything else in the game.
