Lyrics:
You don’t have to try
You’re already like
The life of the party
Your moves, they don’t lie
You’re hot like July
No, don’t even look at me
You say you don’t dance
But jiving your hands
Is the new coolest thing
When we groove together
It’s way more than better
Than any school dance swing
Rocking, rolling
We all come
We all come
Come alive
The hand jive
We don’t need to fight
We hi-igh on life
We’re dancing our blues away
No one to decide
If we’re wrong or right
We’ll be our own protégés
So baby, let’s dance
Focus on those hands
Like it’s high holy day
When we groove together
It’s way more than better
Than any school dance swing
Rocking rolling
We all come
We all come
Come alive
The hand jive
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Rocking rolling
We all come
We call come
Come alive
The hand jive
(Come on!)
Closer, closer, baby
Don’t be shy
Til my heartbeat and your heartbeat collide
Closer, closer, baby
Don’t be shy
Don’t leave no space for the Holy Ghost tonight
Hand Jive
Rocking rolling
We all come
We all come
Come alive
The hand jive
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Knee cap
Give a slap
Record scratch
Churn that butter
Go home to your mother
Rockin, rolling, we’re alright
Rockin, rollin, dance all night
Rockin, rolling
We all come
We all come
We come alive
The hand jive

i love how they made hazel the originator of the hand jive dance at rydell for the “future” movie grease
IT WAS SO COOL
i think the hand jive is just an actual thing. i guess she might have brought the trend to their school. but it's definitely not a made up thing afaik
@@molls127 This is true; the hand jive was an actual dance from the 1950s. I actually love your theory. It works because the episode is taking place pre-"American Bandstand" when regional dances were far more common and it took longer for dance crazes to spread.
@@RetroGirl1967 thats really interesting!!!
@@molls127 yea ik but i still think it’s cool that they made hazel the starter of it being their school dance
This number lives up to the Hand Jive legacy. The dance moves in this number are intoxicating. A new breathtaking high point in this series.
I love that Haze is similarly dressed to Brandy’s Cinderella. Also, LIVING for the Jane/Hazel besties.
I was about to say that myself!
Waittt fr
I just noticed Gil is whacking another guy with a balloon to the beat in the background 😂 the more I watch the show he’s becoming my favourite T-Bird.
Same ❤
Where?
He's also Rizzo's older brother.
Ritchie/Gil are my favorite T-Birds. :)
@@MiskyBeeat 13 seconds he’s in the top left corner
I love how Dot in this episode is like a combination of Sandy and Cha-Cha.
I love dot in this episode, she such a fun character
DOT is very underrated character, for me rob many scenes, she have many JAN vibe!!
Oh dot I first is like she’s a knaving girl and susan henchwoman. But this episode show a different side of dot and I love it
Is she meant to be like Delores from Grease 2?
@@user4658 That is who she reminds me of
So happy that Hazel was the originator of the hand Jive!!! love it!
I love Nancy's funky dress. She is hands down my favorite. She stands out in a good way.
YASSSSSSS Having Hazel show them the hand jive was just so perfect!
THIS SHOW DESERVES A REVIVAL OR SOMETHINGG!!! 😭😭💓💓
So much fun! I wish more people would give this show a chance!
Is it my imagination or does Olivia's and Cynthia's dresses look similar to Marty's and Frenchy's dress in the original movie?
And Dots dress is reminiscent of Rizzos
Fantastic series, I’ll miss her so much! 😢
I love how it combined the chaotic, chicken-seizure craziness of the original Hand Jive with clean, modern choreo! Don't pretend like you didn't see a dancer lifting his partner clear over his head and holding her there! (2:33)
I love the bit when little Johnny Castle discovers dancing. I so love this prequel to Dirty Dancing!
Love this but they could’ve given Hazel and Wally more screen time and story time. I mean, it’s fitting that Hazel would introduce the hand jive to Rydell given that Hazel is the black character and Jive is something black people created. But her and Wally deserve to be more apart of the show. Not just idea people/extra emotions
But then again, Pink Ladies and T-Birds are the main characters.
@@augustrosepriv892. And why isn’t any black kid a pink lady or T-bird? Susan’s neither and she’s in the story a lot. So is Buddy and he doesn’t need to be. I just think it’s weird they can add Hispanic casts to the main characters, add a lesbian character to the main cast, but they draw the line at black characters. They’ve used Hazel & Wally throughout this whole show. The most we’ve ever saw Hazel was when she decided to be Juliet.
just keep wathcing the episodes it will make sense when you watch
I hope you all were doing the Hand Jive at any point during this song
Tiktoker G.A.TURKS says: Wow!!!! The authenticity! The colors, the set! The Detail in choreography! The singing! The acting! The Videography! WHOEVER put all this together UNDERSTOOD the MF assignment!! IT'S THE BEST OF BOTH ORIGINAL MOVIES ROLLED INTO A PREQUEL 😮🥳❤️
cynthia dando tudo de si é simplesmente perfeito
I CANNOT believe this show was cancelled when there are so many terrible shows on the air for 10+ seasons.
Finally best song of the series this far
Can't believe it got canceled. WE deserved better!! BEST VOCALS OF THE MILLENNIUM
I love this show !!!❤😭😭😭
Bring this show back!!!!!
Hand Jive…I know it’s crazy but one song got the vibes. Rock and roll music chuck berry/Beatles.
I LOVE THIS SONG
I loooooove this
they did this cast dirty this was a popular series that was renewed the merger kicked it out completely and no re-reruns!!
Ummm Paramount can you bring this show back… what are you doing???😩😠
No one noticed how the backing track is literally the same as “born to hand jive” from Grease on Broadway
The Hand-Jive was an actual song/dance from the 1950s and there were multiple Hand-Jive songs from that era. It's kind of like The Twist.
My eyeeeeeees 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wait a minute isn’t Cynthia’s dress the same dress Frenchy wore on the movie to the bandstand dance
No...... Frenchy wore a ruffled organdy yellow dress with touches of pink embroidery and tulle...... Cynthia's dress is a yellow tulle dress with a layer of ruched tulle ruffles .........sorry I was a vintage clothing dealer at one time and my favs were 1950s prom dresses......the movie GREASE was the reason for my obsession with vintage clothing
Black people created rock n roll so I think it’s fitting that Hazel created the dance!
2:09 she’s waaaaaaay to into it🤣
Wait did anyone notice when Richie goes to open the doors he’s with Gil and when everyone comes outside potato is the one holding the door
Yes
Yess, I've been very observant of him during this episode. I think that the actor wasn't able to be on set for the whole episode bc they used a stunt for some scenes where you only see the back of this head and during the fight they used a deepfake of him with literally no expression. It messed it up a bit for me but I guess they did what they could with their timing and resources.
the actor playing richie left with a couple of episodes left so they had very inventive ways to make it look like he was still there
With the hair, the glasses and the gloves, is anyone else getting Myrtle Urkel vibes from the girl in blue?
YO THE PANCY KISS!!
Was that ChaCha with the worst reputation at 2:19? 😂
It’s Dot but the outfit was a nod to ChaCha
@@lollipopcorndog thank you. I understood that after I finally watch the series lol
Yes its that good for sure.
Shy Guy and Dot were sitting together? I wonder if they will be together.
I hope they do
Esta canción me recuerda a Born to Hand Jive sobretodo porque tiene un poco de la melodía y de los pasos.
Sé que el Jive es algo real, pero quiero decir que hay escenas que son casi idénticas
That's the point..
@@IsaacCantwell Tiene sentido
I thought they were doing the Gangnam style in the thumbnail until I realized it was the hand jive. 😂
Just realised there was a wardrobe malfunction. Oml😭
where?
@@loveandrespectme 1:19
@@leafii.I don’t see it! What am I looking for? Lol
Oh Olivia zipper
something happened to Richi?? After leaving the frosty palace, he no longer appears in the video, apart from the fact that at first he was the one who opened the doors with Gil and in the next shot he is potato
the guy who played richi left so i think it just made it harder in the people making the show to keep him in the rest. that's my guess
I didn't like the last episode....Pink ladies better reunited, and Ritchie better come back...between Ritchie, and Buddy....I like Ritchie/Jane....
Gee, this is kind of swell
nobody does hand jive like Lauren Boebert.
She didnt want Wally 😢
No Halo season 2?
WHY?
