Fortunately for Pixy, by 2040 borders will weaken, becoming a thing of the past. Unfortunately for him and everybody, megacorporations are replacing governments and fighting wars with each other.
Amazing video, Strangereal is such a fascinating world. Also, seeing that Erusea doesn't even represent 1/13th of Osea's size really gives us a new perspective on the AC7 conflict. Granted, it wouldn't be the first time Erusea fights something far bigger than itself, since it pretty much took control of all of the Usean continent before.
@@Aqueox Makes me question the "Belka has the best military!" idea that the lore keeps telling us yet they never came *close* to conquering a continent, but Erusea certainly almost did *TWICE!*
This was a really fascinating video! There's a third assumption you made for this map when taking its measurements: that it's a full map of Strangereal's Earth. Unfortunately, that's not the case, because Antarctica does not end on the left and right in the same way, and the islands in the mid-left of the map are not aligned with the islands in the mid-right of the map. There's some area that was cut off on both ends in the map we have. I *really* hope they give us a full, updated, accurate map of Strangereal for AC7! It would be so glorious.
This really puts the campaigns of the ace combat series into perspective. I always assumed for example AC5s Circum-Pacific War was one sided and over in a few months. Yet here Osea and Yuktobania are fighting over 25% of the worlds landmass. I thought Estovakia was a small backwards nation, yet it's bigger than Belka at its biggest. Great job as always AC Fan! BTW, where do you find that Strangereal map with all the borders?
Would you mind making available the borderless map you made? I mean, not that I'm trying to start over from scratch with V2 or anything... But in reality, I have toying with the idea of making a strangereal mod for Hearts of Iron IV and while it was on my agenda to eventually erase all the borders and various guidelines in order to make a version for that game's engine, I saw you beat me to it. :P
The Circum Pacific war stopped being one sided once Wardog was taken out of the fight. If you check the map on the briefings during the Razgriz missions, you can see Yutobania take much of its territory back. Interestingly, Yuke forces could not take back Cruick Fortress. Poetic justice? 'This fortress will not fall'.
The majority of the Ace Combat conflicts are incredibly short for their scale and rarely last more than one year. All of the missions of AC Zero take place within 9 months. The Circum-Pacific war in AC5 only lasted 4 months. The entire Lighthouse War in AC7 lasted about 6 months.
Interesting video. But I think you forgot one way to measure the map. If we are to assume that Strangereal is the same size as Earth, then couldn't we use the geographical coordinates to measure the distance? All we need is distance between two landmarks and how to make it relative to the rest of the world.
What I love most about this is just the sheer size of my beloved Aurelia, it’s bigger than belka before the Belkan war. That really puts in perspective of just how powerful the Leasathian Military and Gleipnir was to swarm so much of the country in 10 days

To test the size of Strangereal, try using the map in the "free mission" in Ace Combat 5. It shows the locations which the missions took place Chain Reaction and Reprisal are (dont remember the said number) miles away from each other.

Good work. It does, to an extent, confirm my thoughts that much of Strangereal's territory was squandered. Yuktobania and Osea are simply unnecessarily huge (and larger still if the map isn't a Mercator projection) - territory that could belong to other nations, with other stories, other wars, other *games*. AC2, 3 and 04 managed to use a single continent for multiple wars with multiple factions across 3 different eras, but AC5 alone "consumes" an enormous amount of the known world, without much to show for it compared to games set in smaller regions. Really goes to show how hastily Strangereal, territorially, was built, and how they could have done much better with it were it planned well ahead. It's a fantastic world for the stories it's produced and *especially* for its underlying concepts, but it's geography really is kind of a mess.
But they can easily write themselves out Osea is seemingly a federation of states same as Yuktobania, so they could make it where one or the other has fractured into several warring factions due to some belkan super weapon that drops asteroids or something.
Had no Idea Aurelia was that large. And we know that Strangereal has to be roughly as large and as massive as earth since humans couldn't live there otherwhise.

hey ace combat fan, it would not be too bad for you to make a video about what is the political division of the slightly unknown countries of Strangereal. as of the southern countries of Osea, or east of Ustio and Sapin.it would be great
Erusea in ACC4 was mapped to real world east Asia(China, India and part of ASEAN counties) and Japan. Later in ACC5 the 2 super powers expanded the planet significantly larger than earth. There are 2 moons in ACC5 and after, showing the Strangreal world is bigger with much greater mass so it's able to hold 2 moons orbiting around. And the nature of bigger planet prohibited the army technology's development, instead, the air power and super capital air and naval asset becomes popular. That is an convenient way to explain why air battle become decisive in the game.
Hey ace combat fan. I have never played one of this awesome games, but I got some questions. Could you make a video about the Agaion? I am really wondering where that thing is taking of and landing, and how.
Strangereal should be the same size as Earth as all the other astronomical properties of the solar system are said to be the same as ours. Also, I'm really glad you didn't ignore the differences in map projections. I was actually thinking about the sizes of Strangereal countries the other day while making a continent map for my home D&D campaign (and so was thinking of how other creatives arrived at their continent and country sizes), and had to wonder if my map was using one of the two major projections.
Mihaly... Ace of Aces. First game for me was AC7, and some seem to argue it, but Mihaly seems so much scarier than any other ace in the series. I mean... This guy is an 80yo man that is old enough to have seen generations of wars and has lived. That saying "Fear an old man in a profession where men die young?" Yeah. That. Mihaly's just *that good*. His arrogance is earned, and if I remember reading right he trained Yellow 13. Mihaly is, to me, *the* Ace. The Devil of the Skies. Helps with the fact his planes were red and black. Mobius is the Angel of the Skies, I'd say, with how people talk about him. And Trigger? He's either just a crazy nutter with nothing to lose, a bit of a chip on his shoulder, and a gung-ho attitude *or* he's basically the embodiment of chaotic neutral. Caught between the legacy of an angel, the shadow of a devil, and a revolutionary time.
Pretty interesting. Also, did you consider using the AutaGraph Map? supposedly, it's even more accurate than the Gall-Peters map, even. But overall, pretty neat calculations. So, yeah, Belka is a big country, but Osea... Man, leave some land to other countries!
As always this was an awesome video man! BTW what is the name of the song that is playing from about 2:20 to around the end of the vid ( I haven't played an Ace combat game with that soundtrack lol)
@@AceCombatFan Hey. I believe Strangereal and Earth are indeed the same size. Simple: in order to support life, a planet MUST be a certain size and mass. Mass=gravity, after all. Just food for thought.

Actually, for a better visual result, the mapping method that used could not so accuratly to present the actual scale of surface area of earth. So, this idea and concept of comparing is fine, but it might also wrong in mathematics. But, its also so great to have a rough number.
Huge Strangereal Antarctice more or less confirms that it is a Mercator or a similar projection that is not equal surface. Should have found someone who could do proper spherical projection of default map.
1 - Strangereal Earth has a different geography, which allows for different climates than what RL Earth has. 2 - Strangereal Earth’s continents suggest a slightly different series of events during the planet’s pre-history, which could alter the atmospheric composition (though judging by the amount of real world life forms present, I don’t doubt that dinosaurs existed at some point in Ace Combat). That is my explanation, though it’s just a speculation I’ve made.

Honestly, I see Strangereal as less of a planet and more of the name of the universe the games take place in. The world Ace Combat is on is called Earth, but the fact that it’s in another universe alters the physical appearance of the planet. Also I see Strangereal’s Earth as (roughly) the same size as our Earth (~7,900 miles / ~12,700 kilometers). Otherwise it would be pretty hard to explain the way the sun, moon, and stars appear the same way as real life.
This method is flawed. Projecting the surface of a round object like Earth (or Strangereal, in this case) onto a flat map causes quite a bit of distortion. For example, in the commonly used Mercator projection Greenland looks gigantic, but in terms of actual surface area Africa is around 14x larger despite Greenland and Africa looking like they're around the same size. Any flat map of Strangereal is going to be distorted, and so using this pixel = area unit method of determining sizes would never be accurate.
I would like to point out that although the Mercator projection distorts many landmasses near the poles, it does give an idea as to how monstrous Alaska is. From the farthest Aleutian Island to Juneau would cover the distance from San Francisco, California, to Atlanta, Georgia, as the crow flies.
Given that the aircraft in the game behave the same as they do her on earth, then having 1g here and 1g there being the same would indicate that the two are nominally the same in size.
Randy Bentley uhh idk about you but jets in strangereal pull off some crazy maneuvers. An old jet like a Mig-21 can do some insane maneuvers in Ace Combat without the pilot blacking out or the plane ripping itself apart. Unlike in our real world, I honestly think Aces like Blaze and Cipher are literally Demons. But who knows maybe in Ace Combat 7 we will get an answer.
there are a few instances in Ace Combat where an actual Depiction of Strangereal on a Globe can be seen. such as in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, where in the news Cutscene, a Globe of the Planet can be seen at the bottom left corner.

Hey ace combat fan. I have never played one of this awesome games, but I got some questions. Could you make a video about the Agaion? I am really wondering where that thing is taking of and landing, and how.
OHHHHH! THE SECOND BRIEFING THEME FROM ACE COMBAT 2! YES!
Pixy almost saved us from this frustration.

"It's all because of borders and policemen who won't let me eat the drywall at home depot."
Wonder if there will be any changes on Erusea's borders after AC7.
I would like to see the result assuming that it is the mercator projection, maybe project it on a globe and recalculate?
Time for some strangereal Class!
Did anyone else see a image of Pixy’s face when he said Borders?
I thought you would use the in-game maps of well known areas in the Ace Combat games and make the comparison from there.
I believe that strangereal and earth are the same size and have the same amount of water on the surface the land distribution is the only difference
"Yet, what is a nation? Can we actually see the physical lines that divide one from another?"
And it was measured before the addition of the belkan state after the belkan war, Holy cow
When you realize New Zealand is in Antarctica
As always this was an awesome video man!
BTW what is the name of the song that is playing from about 2:20 to around the end of the vid ( I haven't played an Ace combat game with that soundtrack lol)
Emancipation from Ace Combat 04
Ace Combat Fan thanks man! I'm gonna be listening to this on repeat all night now XD
@@AceCombatFan Hey. I believe Strangereal and Earth are indeed the same size. Simple: in order to support life, a planet MUST be a certain size and mass. Mass=gravity, after all. Just food for thought.
Pixy intensifies HHMMM BORDERS....
One of my favorite fictional universes!!!! #AbsolutelyLoveIt
I see Strangreal as Identical to Earth just with different landmasses.
1:01, IT IS PIXY FROM THE ACE COMBAT ZERO: THE BELKAN WAR!!!
Nice video ! interesting ...by the way regarding another lead that may help us find the size of the atmosphere and or planet , what are the effect of a bigger/smaller atmosphere on the human body and what kind of anatomy a human in strangereal would need to live normally in such an environment ? Another thing I tough about (this might be far fetch like this entire comment XD) but is 11 G a bit too much for a pilot especially for an old guy like the one in the trailer ? I wonder if something like this being possible would suggest something regarding differences in the biology and anatomy of strangereal (like the possibility of humans in strangereal being more resistant to G and/or more resistant overall)
why is there no distance markers? Surely, strangereal does not have the same surface area as the Earth.
Actually, for a better visual result, the mapping method that used could not so accuratly to present the actual scale of surface area of earth. So, this idea and concept of comparing is fine, but it might also wrong in mathematics.
But, its also so great to have a rough number.
What about Globus for Strangereal? In AC5 we saw how countries look from Space!
Huge Strangereal Antarctice more or less confirms that it is a Mercator or a similar projection that is not equal surface. Should have found someone who could do proper spherical projection of default map.
though, what contradicts this is the fact that Wellow uses the Gall stereographic Depiction of Greenland on a Gall stereographic Projection map.
Strangereal might not be the same size as earth. Check out the equator and the tropics, sub tropics, temperate and artic zones would be.

ERROR 404 "PIXY NOT FOUND"
Here i thought Osea is somewhere along the size of USA...
*Fuckin hell that's a big ass nation*
Eu me pergunto como um continente como ANEA que está quase em cima do ártico tem um deserto??
iago almeida That's a very good question actually.
the desert could be like the atacama or gobi desert. grayish yellow, but not necesarly hot.
this is how i will make a map in minecraft
but your error is smaler since most nations are in the ecuator in stranger real
Up vote for equal area projection presumption.
WHEN you say "Border" i see Pixy's head
lol i just like to drive planes in underground facilities
the map use mercator proyecto the antartida is the same that in a mercator map
This method is flawed. Projecting the surface of a round object like Earth (or Strangereal, in this case) onto a flat map causes quite a bit of distortion. For example, in the commonly used Mercator projection Greenland looks gigantic, but in terms of actual surface area Africa is around 14x larger despite Greenland and Africa looking like they're around the same size. Any flat map of Strangereal is going to be distorted, and so using this pixel = area unit method of determining sizes would never be accurate.
wow they really earned that paycheck with wellow
you could've used the New Zealand near Antarctica in strangereal to measure the strangereal !
On the Map erusea is like 1/3 smaller than osea so Big as Mongolie ?it's hard to believe i think you missed some calculs
I winder how strangereal would look like as a globe
there are a few instances in Ace Combat where an actual Depiction of Strangereal on a Globe can be seen. such as in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, where in the news Cutscene, a Globe of the Planet can be seen at the bottom left corner.
emmeria: *gets compared to brazil*
estovakia: *gets compared to argentina*
i think you may have done something intentionally or not
ユージア大陸、オーシア、ベルカ、オーレリア、ユーク、アネア大陸の空はちゃっかり飛んでます
I love ace combat
