@@CeemPlay am a big fan of ddp but I hate how he really siad he agree with Joey jannella and took his side instead of taker and I remember he said that Bryan danielson is the toughest wrestler in the world now like seriously dude?I can't take him seriously anymore
It's laughable that what Taker said is considered "controversial." It was an opinion and he's entitled to it. The reaction from people in the business and out kinda proves his point about the grit missing with today's wrestlers. Most people today let words get to them and cry about it instead of letting it fuel them to work harder.
Definitely agree with Taker...But here's what I think he means..I think he means soft in the sense that today's wrestler is more sensitive... Remember one of the reasons Taker became locker room general is because he would go over his own matches after his match..he would stay and watch other matches and give critiques.. I believe Taker is referring to the fact that these younger wrestlers who grew up on the Internet..and then social media...think they know more than the vets when the vets critique them.. Now granted today's wrestler and the product as a whole has changed...But there is still value in learning from the old..And I believe that is what Taker is referring to when he means soft...The older vets are going to be very critical of the younger wrestlers..and today's wrestler get thier feelings hurt because they're so sensitive... To everyone's point..the fact that the younger wrestlers are butt hurt over what Taker said..the most respected man in the business..meaning none of his peers have ever said a bad word about him...that tells you about today's wrestler..not only wrestler..just today's man overall...
were there tough people earlier on? yes but let's not act like there weren't many big name talents that were addicted out of their minds and could barely perform. We look fondly on some of these guys but if you go back in time there was a lot of unimpressive performances going on because the "tough guys" destroyed their bodies with a bunch of destructive choices in and out of the ring
Takers right the attitude era was the best time for wrestling that locker room were big hard men they played hard and worked hard they did there own shit in the ring now they are told what to do
I'm no wrestler, but I would also say that today's generation is softer, but can you really blame them? The times have changed and the company has changed. Let's say a wrestler is injured and he wants to be a tough guy and ''walk it off'' - he wouldn't be able to cause the doctors would suspend him if they saw something wrong with him. Same with how wrestlers get to WWE - they have way more oportunities than back in the day, so they don't go through the same ''dirt'' as Taker cause the ''dirt'' Undertaker went through is no longer there...
You ever watch the Shane Douglas shoot on his last days in WWE?? Watch and come back and delete your response to this video. Your cred went out the windo
DDP being a company boy as usual since he works in aew everything undertaker siad is straight up facts
He doesn't work for anyone. He says what he feels. And he is on the pulse of what makes modern wrestling tick

Not controversial at all, he was spot on with what he said! All we have here is 2 people trying to stay relevant and failing miserably.
Taker losing his mania streak still doesn't sit well with me.
It had to be done. But maybe they should waited and made it his last WM and maybe a final farewell match at SS or something with him winning
Taker shoulda done more jobs on his back staring up at the lights on his way out

This is one thing I do agree with Russo on.
There is an element of danger that is missing from today’s wrestlers. Glad the lifestyle is healthier but you lose a bit of edge.
Btw I don’t think you can put that all on the wrestlers. With everything being so corporate and safe could an old school wrestler even stay employed?
Could say the same thing about the fans. Now a bunch of cosplayers who don’t spend a minute in reality
