That Constellation really is a work of art. Truly beautiful restoration. On a different note, would like to take a moment to offer sincere condolences for the loss of the T-6 and the helicopters. Many somewhat risky endeavors are more forgiving than aviation can be, but the people who love to fly do so out of a unique love of nature and freedom. All of us wish to return to Terra Firma safely, but once in awhile somebody gets their wings and just keeps going - The only thing any of us mere mortals can do then is try to learn the important lessons and do better next time. Sometimes those lessons can be tough, but they are some of life's most important. Condolences to all family and friends. RIP.
my dad runs the company that did a good chunk of the restoration on that constellation. seeing comments like these is crazy! everyone here is so glad you're all likin it

Lockheed VC-121A Constellation.. It's amazing, she just got done with a 7 year restoration. Named "Bataan" she was General MacArthur's personal Connie. Absolutely beautiful.
The Constellation has such a beautiful design. Now, the paint scheme that they make o this one is THE BOMB! WOW! IT IS FREAKING AWESOME! No words to express how beautiful this sample is. FANTASTIC! What a wonderful overall job the guys have done to this Constellation! It pleases your eyes just witching this bird take off. Never gets old!
The Saturday airshow was truly amazing, I’m glad I was there to see it, on the other hand, I would like to highlight the accidents that happened yesterday and all of the people who lost their lives in them, rest in peace.
@@0013bluejay A T-6 Texan flying out over the lake in the morning went down in Lake Winnebago, with both on board passing away. Later in the afternoon 2 ultralights (one helicopter, one gyrocopter) had a mid-air collision over the southern end of the field near the Ultralights runway, killing 2, injuring 2, and damaging a Mooney aircraft on the ground.
From the beginning till the end, I have loved watching this Oshkosh 2023 series. The fact that an airshow can be this massive, is just insane to me. I really wish that one day, I will get to visit the airshow in real life, because it’s so so cool watching this. Thank you for showing us this footage, because, this way, everyone that couldn’t go to the airshow including me, could still kinda enjoy it. Once again, thank you so so much for showing this. ❤❤

Great video. I'm in the UK and wish I could be there for the airshows . I don't know if anyone has noticed, but at 56 seconds ( using precision scrolling) it looks like something came off or was hit by the F22.

From a different perspective: I really like the Constellation. Serving at Elmendorf AFB 1958-1960 as an Air Freight Specialist allowed me to see these beauties from landing, unloading, reloading then take-off. Wonderful to enjoy coming and going. Just a marvelous aircraft. Wonderful to see this one in flight, that really warmed my heart.
Always wanted to go to the Oshkosh air show. There is an air show each year in Georgetown, TX that i used to go to regularly. Such great entertainment.
@@7000fps Clearly a bird. If you freeze the video and go frame by frame by using the "." and "," keys to single step you can see the bird as the aircraft approaches and then see it sucked under the wing.
Marvelous video! I was at EAA in 1995 for the 50th anniversary of V-E day. That was the most amazing fly-by of Warbirds I've ever seen. The show is still the greatest airshow of them all!
That first plane was a thing of beauty.. something very nostalgic about propeller driven aircraft..also did something fall off of the second jet in the video when it climbed?
@@Grim_Prospects After several back and forth comments from viewers we think it was a bird narrowly missing the jet. If you slow down the video you can see something approaching the jet just before it starts to climb then afterwards you can see what looks to me anyway as a bird. That explanation makes more sense than something falling off of it.
The Constellation is the most beautiful three-engine airplane ever built (if you know ANYTHING about them, you'll understand). I have almost 2500 hours on them with the USAF (Intercept controller, 963rd, McClellan AFB, Sacramento, and 79th AEW Sq, Homestead AFB, Florida) But I didn't see any oil leaks on "Bataan"... like a Harley, if she's not leaking, she's not running. 😁😁
During my fathers 21 years in the Navy as a Machinists Mate first class, he flew the "Super Connie" C-121 for 15,000 hours after overhauling and updating the engines onboard this beautiful aircraft......He loved this aircraft as man of the military men who flew it did. RIP Dad.
It's Amazing what people will do and spend to keep theese fantastic flying machines in the Air, As a Kid remember flying in a Super Constellation back in 1963, 440, DC3, DC6, 707,DC8 DC10 and a lot of much smaller and bigger aircraft. The Constellation, the DC3 and a 206 a special place in my heart. Strangelly never in a 747

Kudos to the Fireworks show. Especially Kudos to the Acrobat Airplane that carried & brought their own Fireworks on their airplane to add to the fireworks sky display
I was about to say the same thing. Played at .25 speed and the bird does go up and over but the vapor cone when he pulls up kind of blocks the view of it actually makes contact with the jet.
@@Kindaclear At full speed it looked like a rectangular piece of the aircraft to me, thanks for slowing it down to find it was a bird. edited to add, @0:55 I think the bird is visible in front of the F35, to the right, just above the right wing tip, at a height about even with the vertical stabilizers. Looks like the lighter colored underside of its wings. I could be wrong tho.
Just now saw the C-17 with refueler and watching that tiny toddler😮 go after that sippy cup made my day. Don't want to be near when that baby Brutus is weaned, momma! momma! momma! more!! {~~ break left =☆= break right ~~} What an awesome sight.

I dont think so, no bird on the preceding frame ahead of the plane , they probably forgot to tighten the fuel filler door and it ripped right off.

The constellation was at Aroura Oregon Airport before the airshow. It's coming back here to get more restoration done on the interior.

Yes something definitely falls off and it looks like it's coming from the left side of the airframe
I thought that too however it's a bird strike. You can see it come into frame at 0:55 and impact at 0:56

frame-by-frame using , and . keys will show you definitely a bird, and it actually looks like it got away alive!
