okay WOW, a lot is going on in this! so i just turned 18 and have a $13/hour job. i am SO BEYOND STRESSED OUT about the future and finances. i absolutely 100% want to become educated on the stock market & invest. is there any way you can make a basics video on how to navigate the market as well as anything a beginning investor should know? also, you mentioned creating a savings account and putting a percentage of your paycheck in it! would this be something i do on my own, or do i contact my bank and ask them to automatically transfer the funds? as far as the 401k goes, does it make sense to put some of the paycheck in the account which i won’t have access to or a savings account like i previously mentioned? ah sorry! i have so many questions about all of it!

Dang, Krispy, pheNOMenal video!! You are preaching to the choir here. I started investing at age 20 (dad taught me), and by my late 40s, I was able to fully retire, though I chose to continue to work to stay out of trouble. Just a couple of things to note: You can start taking money out of your 401(k) at age 59 and 1/2, not 60. Also, please talk about the importance of taking advantage of investing money regularly in a Roth IRA since it provides tax-free withdrawals. I plan to send a link of your video to a number of young people I counsel on the importance of investing. Bravo to you for doing this!!

I like it but I wouldn’t recommend people who individual stocks of newish companies like Uber, FB, or Tesla. They’re still speculative and in an overvaluation phase. The general advice of owning a basket of stocks was good, but guiding people to low cost index ETFs by a company like Vanguard would help new people. Target retirement date X by Vanguard is the easiest way for those to start. Make more of these videos though, they’re helpful!

Don't really know if the situation is similar in the US, but I'll assume it is.
Don't buy stuff (especially what you really don't need) on payment plans or credit cards. More so, absolutely do not buy multiple things with payment plans or credit cards, do not let it turn into a habit. You'll end up spending a ton in a year in just fees and interest.
Instead of going for the easy way out (granted, you'll have the thing you need/want faster), save up instead. Rather than spending all your hard earned cash on paying for old purchases (again, interest & fees, especially if you have multiple "loans"). It'll also make yourself feel better, once you've actually earned it, plus it makes you feel better putting money aside for yourself, not for someone else.
    Agree?

My Dad was such a whiz at finance but he never taught me what you just talked about since he chose drugs and alcohol over educating his kid. He passed away three years ago and I hope that the choices I made financially, ever since he passed away, were correct. I don't want to regret things I did 20 years from now just because I didn't know how to do something. I would appreciate the information you talked about like credit cards, stock market, etc. I want to be smart with my money but don't know who to trust in the financial world. Thank you for sharing your insights.

Krispyshorts Honestly some amazing advice. I had unlimited call and data for 55 dollar per Month and I’ve cut data, found a new plan. Unlimited call, no data, and K have saved sooo much money. Just a problem about asking my boss for a raise. Even when I’m working harder than normal for long intervals, he still refuses to give me a raise. I know he probably has his reasons and I was wondering what I could either than that to try and convince I’m worthy.

Good work krispy; however, money managers (mutual funds) rarely outperform the market. It would be much better to individually pick an index fund (You mentioned) and invest without the help of the advisers (who you have to pay). VOO is a great choice (Acorns actually uses this one). Next video tell people about Roth IRA's and regular IRA's, these are also great choices with massive tax benefits.
    Either way great work!!!!!

Hey Krispy, quick question. I’m 17 and have currently invested about 500$ of my money into the stock market by means of my fathers Ameritrade account. My stocks are up and I’ve made a decent return on them but I’d like to start investing in my own account. Do you suggest I allow that money to continue to grow there while also opening my own account (probably with Robinhood) or would it be smarter to sell my stocks and invest that money into my own account?
Also really enjoyed the video. Very informative and helpful!

I've been watching a lot of financial youtubers recently and with your first video on this topic you are already killing it!!! M1 is also a great free stock trading platform. The key thing it has over the excellent robin hood is the ability to buy fractional shares !!! Example of how awesome it is to buy fractional shares on a free stock platform is this... I have a a stake in apple which is like $200 a share and amazon which is like $1800 a share and I don't need to fork over all that money at once . I just keep adding money to my m1 account which allocates whatever amount I add and puts it towards the stocks in my portfolio. At some point I'll have full shares but for now with my fraction of apple and fraction of amazon and other big companies I have in my portfolio, so I'm riding those expensive stocks without having to pay full price.

Krispy, I’ve been a fan for years and this is honestly one of your best videos to date. This should be a mainstay on your vlog, and something that you can constantly add to and refine. Millennials struggle to find good financial advice, and the more you can break down the better. When I started investing several years ago, it took me probably 3-4 months to put together all the info you just gave in 15 min. Good job man 👏🏻 KEEP IT COMING!!!

Great video Crispy!! I was in my early 30's and had virtually no money set a side, which I was very concerned about. so I taught myself how to trade the Forex market (and if I can do this then anyone can) I studied incredibly hard as well as having a full time job (a job that I met you on ;) I was absolutely determined to crack it,, and after a couple of years of trial and error I am now consistently profitable, growing my account by around 10-15% per month. I am now 38 and not to far away from buying my dream house cash. For anyone wanting to trade the FX market all I can say is risk management is key! don't ever risk more than 2 or 3% of your trading capital per trade.

Been waiting for a vid like this, glad you did it dude! Excited to see you dive into it more. I skip all other videos that “promise to show you how to make money investing” but by watching the vlog over the years I know I can trust you and you’re not just trying to sell me something! Thanks j’krisp!
