It’s a pretty sad day when the comment section of a short video entitled “when it’s time to bug out” and is accompanied by the soundtrack from red dawn.. is compelling me to assign a disclaimer noting to so many of you who are incapable of discerning entertainment from reality! So for those of you who are concerned about my well being as a result of not wearing body armor, or carrying such a small caliber rifle, or the dangers of wearing camouflage… I can assure you that when that door closed behind me, I only found myself inside of a pantry.. not a war zone! But I do thank you all for your concern.. it means a lot! 😢😅

It's been proven time and time again that shot placement is most important you can shoot
(a small target) that generally (has no body armor on it) whatsoever all day long with the 22 Easily.... Zero recoil, ton of ammo, lightweight.
There is zero problem with that. There has also been countless wars and battles were no body wore (armor ) and we're capable of (maneuvering easier) and (further.) It's a personal choice nothing more depending on how densely populated they are you are and you might consider it or get it weigh the cost.
In a situation like this you should be more concentrating on getting from
(point A to point B), then getting into a fire fight with a trained military Force, unless you have a group of trained people. Because alone you will fail against a trained group. Best is to evade detection and get to your safe spot.

@@BUZZKILLJRJR big difference between a fatal wound, and an immediately incapacitating wound. Not to mention barrier penetration of common items such as auto glass, door panels, mailboxes, fences ect.
Its a helluva lot more than shot placement, you don't always have perfect shots on exposed targets.
A Ruger 10/22 loaded with CCI Stingers is more formidable than people give it credit for, but sometimes u need a real fighting rifle.

    Entertaining notional scene.
    Pro Tip:
Start your ruck movement “cold”, I promise you will finish hot and sweaty if you’re covering ground carrying all the weight. 12 Miles will sap the energy out of a grown fit 18 year old.
There’s likely 0 danger in wearing Camo and carrying a fishing rod. I suggest having plenty of those normal capacity tackle boxes in the Kit Bag. That ruck is quite large and will make a lot of motion and noise in the woods. AND When you lose your ruck, you lose everything. This is part of what a belt and harness or chest rig is for. Secure your knife a little bit better or it will be gone. I’ve lost a few knives and lots of gear in the chaos and fog. The lanyard tied to the knife is better than the sheath. A black gun is observable even at night. The radio will be triangulated and listened to, and you will be targeted. Get targeted and you will get kilt. Be good, and have a good day everyone.

Setup looks pretty decent and that 10/22 is the perfect bugout gun. Most people fail to realize the weight of ammo. you can carry several thousand rounds of .22 lr. Its very deadly, easy to get hits on target and alot quieter. I would suggest moving that lil izula though. If you get in a tussel with someone they might end up gutting you with it.😮

@@idahoprepper I’m just saying it’s smarter to not draw attention to yourself. In a shtf situation when everybody is desperate the camo screams things like Tactical, supplies, things we need, etc. I would rather not have anybody paying attention to me. First bag I ever bought many years ago looked just like yours. Then I learned from many other preppers that a plain bag “grey man” sorta look made more sense. I’d not want anybody around me whether I’m armed or not.

    • @idahoprepper

@@tacticalbartender3057 I hear ya, the grey man look has its place.. mostly in urban environments where you might be surrounded with more low impulse control type people who are unprepared and are looking to rob others of their supplies, I get that.. if I were still living in California, I’d definitely be adopting a more grey man look… but here in north Idaho I’m literally surrounded by trees and old white Christian’s who are more than likely as armed and prepared as I am..people dressed in camo and walking around with guns is an everyday thing here! 😆

Picked up a baofang. Living in Sand Diego, CA. I was all stoked until i went to program it. All emergency updated to the new digital frequencies. All it did was drive home my desperate need for a mutual assistance group. It serves no greater purpose than my kids toy walkie talkies.🤔
We can have a lot of friends who are good people, but the "what if" case scenario conversations need to be brought up, and hands on skills building activities need to be worked in to the life schedule.

Because in a INCH situation, it is not practical.
INCH ruck is going to run anywhere from 60 lbs.- 80 lbs.
If youre running the pc then you should be running the Ridgeback level 4+ ceramic plates by Gaurd Dog. They are around 8 lbs. each (8x2=16lbs), plus the weight of the carrier itself, 1-2lbs..
Now lets talk ammo.. you want the AKM, of course, for the reliability. So, 7.62×39 is not a featherweight bullet, I would anticipate probably 10-15 lbs for the ammo, thus, the higher poundage on the ruck weight. Then add another 5 pounds of loaded mags in the pc.
You will need a pistol on your belt to operate as a sidearm (3 lbs) and the AKM weighs almost 8.5 lbs..
This would put you at a grand total of around 130lbs of gear loading you down to a point of a severe loss of mobility. You wouldnt be walking far like this...
Not to mention the fact that some People have families, and will be having to coordinate other necessities like FOOD and WATER for their wives and children.
