We're really glad you enjoyed it John. :)
@@RoyalArmouries Thanks for the video FAQ. Who made the presenters very nice civilian garb?
Fantastic video!!! Now I want to go and watch a Jousting match(?) They usually hold Jousts at a castle near to where I live, Castle Hedingham, so next time one is on I'm definitely going.
Thanks David. They're a lot of fun! We have a joust every year here in Leeds too.
Thanks!
You're very welcome!
Favorite museum ever.
Lived in Leeds almost 20 years ago and visited very frequently, like weekly.
Off topic question - What are the best online resources to research the arms of the Crimean War?
Wow, you look very handsome =)
at the armouries, in fact, i was clovked at impact at 52 km/h in the middle of the tilt, the oncoming horse nearly as fast, we counted the number of tilt posts in the frame rate.
hence we were slightly less sure as to the speed of the horse coming from the tractor end, but looked to be as fast.
so we collided with 100+ km/h
also i was in the group that hit the pendulum in the research you are quoting, due to various circumstances, like damage to the target eating energy we need to read the numbers as 'more than x'
the peak ones also were a bit higher numbers.
again, the target was static, not voming at you at double the speed.
the test was set up to compare saddles and the use of the arrêt, so it didn't matter much, but energies need to be read as 'more than' with double that amount as quite likely.
this would fit with the damage to vamplates we have seen.
all that is the historical lance dedign i redeveloped as opposed to balsa.
those are based on the very weediest lances extant in Vienna, so the scale goes up from there in that sense too
How were jousting tournaments organized? Were they organized into brackets, some kind of ladder system, or something else? What was the tournament structure like?
What is said in this video on how to start jousting is happening to me at the moment
Where would one get a quality functional suit of plate?
It this channel's interviews the jousters talk very fondly about the White Rose Armoury owned by Dave Hewitt. It is located in United Kingdom.
It would be helpful if the curator read the questions aloud.
this cap like arabian cap .. whats the name of this cap ? and whats the year or age who appeared this cap ?
1 way i can think of by improving jousting armour is by putting rubber under the armour
Ah, miles per hour, music to my American ears
is jousting in Westeros the same as in medieval Europe????
lol had to ask
You dont nead to ride since young age dont lie you can become a jouster eny time
