Looking good, seems to be consistent with the original IJA rules set in New Zealand. The RA was selected by he UK arm of the IJA to be our Centre of Excellence by Sir Joseph Barnard the the then President at a ceremony with management present. Callum Forbes in NZ is still the IJA General Secretary who has done a super job with his committee past and present.
Regards and best wishes to all.

I didn't get the baton part. They were taking those shattered pieces and checking if they were shorter than the baton?

The striking tip of the lance is of a separate piece of wood. Like pencil lead in a mechanical pencil. Whatever remains attached to the actual lance is what is measured against the baton.

Not exactly, no. They take the piece of the lance that the knight is still holding, and then they measure that. They can't measure the shattered pieces of wood, as they would all be different lengths.

if the shatterable front piece of the lance remains it will be measured against the batton for a point if what is left of that is short than the batton if the frontal piece of the lance is shattered to small parts rather than falling off depending on the rules used you may get another point in addition to having broken the breakable front piece of the lance if however it has just fallen off and is either only partially broken or still intact depending on the rules the amount of points alotted may be different
