This songs has accompanied me through the years, and it still rocks like the first time I heard it.
May it lead you to your goals.
Eric the Red and Ragnarok was on repeat for me during this time. When I found you guys I kind of just forgot there was other bands.
That sound incredible :D
- Heri
This is easily the best track you've made. The lyrics blend from English to Faroese so well.
Thanks, glad you like it 🤘😎🖤🎵🎶
Týr's so atmospheric. So much so, it has become my favorite track when writing my dark fantasy novels. It's so inspiring! Love the band since I've first listened to it; it followed me thorugh my teenage years, and I just can't get enough of the perfect setting established by the instrumental portions and also the lyrics. Great story lines, well told and written, so truthful to the source material. The deep-thought instrumental lines just ties everything together.
Saw you guys play at St Andrews Hall in Detroit, MI about 10 years ago, still have the drumstick I caught. Redsicovering all your amazing tunes has been an awesome trip down memory lane ❤
Thanks, we’re glad you’re still with us on this journey 🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
The year is 2006. I'm sat in my tent at my first viking re-enactment, readying myself for my first combat, and I have this blasting in my ears. Life was good.
Good memories attached to music. There's nothing like it 🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
My God the part at 5:34 gives me goosebumps. Love from Jordan!
Thank you. Greetings from the Faroes, and thank you for listening 🤟🏻😎
2009, sorting through my shoebox full of magic the gathering cards, blasting my ears into early graves with Ragnarok, Eric the Red & Land,, stresses of exams forgotten in the vivid fantasy that's formed when a young nerd meets incredible fantasy media.
2021, I don't give a fuck, I love it more than ever. Thanks for everything!
Here's a damn blogpost worth of praise from me if the band care to read it:
My Picks:
Ragnarok.
The beginning
The hammer of Thor
Brother's bane (singing it with my brother while our blood is half cider)
Wings of Time (the volume dynamics. the bass. the drum panning.)
Lord of Lies (rhythmically very interesting to me, similar to nine worlds of lore)
Valhalla
By the Light of the Northern Star.
By the sword in my hand (chorus is epic)
Ride (sounds like a metal-punk drinking song)
By the light of the northern star (I'm a sucker for guitar melodies that copy the vocal melody)
The Lay of Thrym.
Flames of the free just blasts right off the bat.
Evening Star (wish there was more metal with this kind of sound)
Fields of the Fallen (another "chorus is epic")
Ellindur Bóndi Á Jaðri (somehow inspires me without understanding a word of it)
Nine Worlds of Lore (Madness. Technically brilliant, beautiful, powerful)
The Lay of Thrym (chorus guitar parts are so out there but work perfectly)
Valkyrja.
Grindavísan (sounds like the music of a world just outside of our own somehow)
Into the Sky
Fánar Burtur Brandaljóð (yes, all three are back to back on the album. A straight 11 minutes of joy)
Lady of the Slain (did I say three straight? I meant four.)
Valkyrja (fucking sike, I meant five. Straight. Tracks. What a killer time I had on first listen way back then)
Hel. (Oh look, my most anticipated album ever. Somehow blew way past what I expected.)
All Heroes Fall (by the sword in my hand vibes but with *that* solo)
Garmr (great song but love it more as a buildup to the epic...)
Sunset Shore (Stripped down but nothing missing. Great song)
Empire of the North (I think Tyr have the best choruses in all metal. As always, this one kills)
King of Time & Fire and Flame (both are great, but King of Time starts the build to something...)
Against the Gods (perhaps my favourite* Tyr song, and I don't even care for the intro. Before this, the album was great. When I heard this, the album was guaranteed for looping for a month)
Songs of War (where's my sword?)
*All time favourites: Nine Worlds of Lore. Against the Gods. Lord of Lies. The Hammer of Thor. Valkyrja. The Edge.
I know it was about the floksmenn (or so i hear) but even after nearly 20 years of listening to it, 'it was a year ago...' and 'when they came to bleed me dry' verses hit harder than any tragic love song short of My Dying Bride.
Thanks, we're glad you're still listening 🤘😎🖤🎵🎶
This song and album is fucking amazing
Thank you very much for saying that 🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
I know it's probably not what you want to hear considering all the great music you have made since then, but "The Edge" and "Alive" are my all time favorites, excellent verses and composition.
Thank you :) We appreciate all praise.

God what I wouldn’t give to see alive and the edge remastered with your modern audio.
That may be a good idea :)

@@Tyrband fuck man that would be so sick. The Last few albums have just had some stunning sound and applying that to the early songs would just be 👌🏻.
@@Tyrbandmake it happen.
How Far to Asgaard and Eric the Red are two of the best damn progressive albums of all time. The only word for the two of em is "masterpiece".
Edit: most underrated band ever
Thank you for those kind words 🇫🇴🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
My favorite song of yours, I really wish I had gotten to hear it live
Blood Brother from ATL... Very reflective and meaningful lyrics. You guys are top tier!!!
Thanks, we appreciate that!
This is by far my favorite Tyr song
Thank you, that's a deep cut by now 🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
An old friend of mine showed me this song, and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since then, the Tyr discography is perfect and I am so happy I found this band as a kid, I hope one day to see you guys live in Vancouver
Still your best song in 2024.
Each time I saw you live it was a disapointment that you never play it.
If you dont wanna play cause it lasts 8mins, at least do a Medley of your best songs, and integrate The Edge's ending part
New day, we all pay for our mistakes on our way; lead me up the hillside at
Daybreak, my mistake, don't shed a tear at my wake, just believe it's for my own sake
No turning back now
No tears at my wake, I'll pay for my vow
Just march up the hill till we reach the end
Transmigration calls, I long to ascend
It's for my own sake
Its the best part of all Tyr's songs.
My favourite song \m/
Love this song ❤️
I really would like to hear Tadeusz playing songs like this.
That could be arranged.
Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhh!!!
While The Lay of Thrym is my favourite album, I very much love the experimental and sometimes innocent feel of many of the songs of the firsts albums.
2:47 when it went BREAW goes hard
🤘🏻😎🖤🎵🎶
Brasil Love u 🇧🇷🤘🏽🍻💋❤😁😜🤘🏽😍
We love Brazil!
- Heri
Runsilvald ....I always remember that word and Oven Den Hede (over the horizon) that is from Sinklars Visa though
You guys are fucking amazing

10/10
Brasil, porraaaaaaaaa!!! \m/
Heri отлично получилось.
Does the masterpiece of a song, have anything to do with the Vikings Valhalla TV show?
No. This was written and released long before that TV series.
How bad a beating do you get when you tell actual vikings that real vikings never wore horned helmets.
I tried all I could to make them take the horns off the helmets on this cover. No luck.
