- Check out how tough our Corelle crockery really is versus a standard porcelain plate.
Over 1m drop straight onto concrete and not a single chip, scratch, or scuff. That's pretty tough right?

I dropped a small plate today and it shattered in a million pieces. I have had it for over 20 years though. I have never seen anything shatter that bad.
Nice demonstration on the survivability of a Corelle plate versus a porcelain plate. But be aware that when a Corelle plate exceeds its "shock proof" limit, look out, for the plate will explode into thousands of pieces! Thanks for sharing!
You drop it three or four inches - from the dishpan to the surface of the sink - and the bowl disintegrates?
@@dennisyoung4631 No.
Corelle and similar dishes will dissipate the energy of the impact by "ringing" - that tone the make when dropped. The vibrations will dissipate over a couple seconds. But if you drop a stack of them, the vibrations are damped and they will all shatter. Also, falling on something that concentrates the force to a small area like a pebble etc. This exceeds the dish's capacity.
@@WAL_DC-6B note: I was describing what happened to a 28 ounce Corelle bowl I’d had for a few years. It acted like it simply had one knock too many when I dropped it a few inched due disability-induced clumsiness.
Have replaced that bowl since that time.
We need a 50 foot drop test
Polycarbonate says "bring it"
We had in a restaurant in the 80s and man oh man, they shatter into a million very sharp pieces! In our restaurant we had to clean the parameter like crazy because they would fly 100ft away
corelle plate does break when it gets dropped. i guess it's the angle. i broke one before.
Kis moll me h
My plate broke before I even got it home from Walmart. Two inches of the edge of the plate.
These plates suck I own them and they shatter so easily that's bs
