I like that he doesn't care much for universe building or crossovers, and just wants to tell an interesting story in these franchises. His take on Swamp Thing as a horror noir Frankenstein-like sounds like fun.

Yeah...I may sound like a heretic, but I would have taken that Boba Fett film over anything Mando and Baby Yoda. But alas...seems they try to get rid of Boba at the moment. Sad that there is no way we will ever see this movie...

@@SandraOrtmann1976 I mean Mando is just a reskin of Boba I wouldn't call ya a heretic lol, I'm semi happy with star wars ATM but Boba was a big let down.

Walking out of the theater after Logan, my head felt as if I experienced the Civil War, WW2 and the Roman War altogether in a two-hour time frame.
For a movie to capture you , take you somewhere unfamiliar, enthrall you with emotional complexes, is simply a work of MASTERY & GENIUS.
Wanting to be in film school since a kid, James no doubt is the Director I always longed to be

@@Robster-1970 I blame the culture we live in. Our reliance on art house centric critics as well as the politically charged voices (both conservative and liberal online). The movie wasn’t 100% perfect, but then again the only one to my eyes that was 100% perfect, and James Mangold admits this, is Raiders of the Lost Ark (Because it brought us into this world for the first time)

Im aware you have a certain audience, yet I'd love to see artists from other countries interviewed. South Korea, Australia and other places perhaps. I guess its a bit more niche

Indy will be fine, despite the toxic fandom wanting it to fail. (How f*cked up do you have to be to _want_ a film to fail, unless it's a truly awful piece of crap?) It made half its budget back in one weekend. It will make money. Not previous Indy films kind of money, but enough. And then more than make that back on all the people who won't go to the theatre but will inevitably rent it on VOD.
The fanboy rage will be amusing. The toxicity since the last one and against the Rings of Power (which isn't great theatre, but isn't a crime against humanity either) has been shocking to me, a longtime fan of both IPs.
Like, find something better to do with your life, you overwhelmingly middle-aged fanboys. You know that outrage culture generates clicks and therefore $$$, which is the same thing you accuse these IPs of doing. And don't you have anything better to do with your lives, like fulfilling careers or raising children? The unfortunate answer is, probably not. It's disgusting and worse, it's stupid.

Then why don’t you do some research before you talk about someone you know nothing about? He’s a credible interviewer who’s been doing this for a decade. This is his job to interview people no matter the quality of the film they’re talking about. So because you don’t like the new Indiana Jones you dislike the people that are hired to talk to the filmmakers about it? You’re a loser. That’s like ordering a food you’ve never tried before and if you don’t like it you complain about the server, who had nothing to do with the making of the food. Grow up, it’s a movie.

I love James Mangold but he missed the mark with Indy 5. It happens to the best of directors. The thing with Indy franchise is that it is pure escapism, no one is looking to shed tear or get a lesson on aging in these films. That's what dours the experience for me.
