JC was always my favorite singer in NSYNC, he has so much soul. And being a child of the 80s, I was all about Richard Marx back in the day. "Right Here Waiting" was one of my favorite Richard Marx songs.
I was born in January 1981, so I was 19 when this song came out, don't discount us early 80s kids! A lot of us were chill. I can assure you that I knew Richard Marx before my mom. I loved you in the 80s and 90s, and This I Promise You is such a Richard Marx song, perfectly written for JC's gorgeous voice. My mom passed away suddenly in 1995, and music saved me in the years after losing her... (Pearl Jam especially, all the way to Nsync.) I was 17 when Nsync got huge in 1998, and had the chance to see them perform at my local radio station's free concert (92 Pro FM 24th birthday bash at PPAC) in spring of 1998, thanks to my best friend. They were AMAZING!! They only performed a couple of songs and had no set or props, just them and their voices, dancing and back flips. They were the real deal, and so fun. They set the bar high, one of my favorite concerts ever. When their Disney concert aired in summer 1998, myself, my friends, sister, niece, and cousins already knew Nsync and watched that live on TV so enthusiastically. I listened to "sailing" every night to fall asleep. Thank you JC for sharing your voice in these ballads, and for all the fun and being the backbone of Nsync. In 1998 and 99 I had already seen BSB once at the same venue about 5 months prior, and also again at the Providence Civic Center and again in Boston in the same year span (all thanks to my best friend's mom, who bought my ticket each time. I had absolutely nothing back then, so the privilege of having a wonderful friend whose mom treated me as her own, and taking me to my first concerts was absolutely life changing. And we didn't scream or stalk them (those screaming girls were cringe and embarrassing to us!) Nsync, and their raw performance at the radio station gig, before they were famous, their 2 or 3 songs, was one of my favorite concerts ever. Thank you Richard Marx, thank you JC. You're forever embedded in music history, and your voices and lyrics are timeless.
I’m a 90s kid and this song was life! BUT I have to say I like this version better than the original... I know I can’t believe I’m saying it either but damn this was perfection!
I always think of my high school sweetheart when I hear this song. We only dated for a few months before he left for Job Corp and we lost touch. Ten years later and he found me again and we became best friends (I know he wanted more but we lived in different states and both understood that was nearly impossible so we compromised and were best friends). He sent me a voicemail that said he'd love me until the day he died and he'd meet me at Heavens Gate when he got there. A week later he was killed in a head on collision. This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
They did an awesome and amazing job singing this song.❤❤❤❤. Richard Marx and JC Chasez has beautiful voices. I can hear them sing all day long and would never get tired of hearing them sing ❤❤❤❤
This is what happens when 2 humble guys go on stage together. Absolute magic. Talent is only borrowed from the generation before. Just a bit of a shame this generation never got the message.
@@ShujjaRizvi Ok I'll step up to the proverbially plate & admit I did exactly the same; ie initially glancing at the name; seeing 'Hemsworth' too. LoL C how powerful our perception can be. . . leeway1331 he probably still can but for this, Richard wouldnt be able to go so low, so this worked out great, richard has always had a high range, so they would offset one another, this was a good blend
Richard Marx's voice has never waned over the years, he is as brilliant live as he is on his cd's. He writes his own lyrics which are amazing, and defines what an artist really is.
That's when singers REALLY had talent! (EXCEPT MilleyVanilly LOL) If you EVER get a chance to see Richard Marx do a show, DONT MISS IT! We saw him a few years ago in MN, it was an intimate setting and it was TRULY ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS that I've EVER seen! Oh, and you'll LOVE his sense of humor too!😉
Pure class. What a wonderful performance of a truly beautiful and touching song. These two guys and the band are such amazing musicians. I love the way JC and the pianist shake hands as he leaves the stage.
Wow, Great memories. Musicians these days just don't write simple beautiful love songs anymore. I guess new generations don't fall in love like the way we did before. I remember times when we would make a cassette or a CD with ballads and give it to our girl with selected songs showing how we feel about her or viceversa, then years later if you were still together or not, you would listen to certain songs and would bring back memories. Record companies are big part responsible for letting great music behind and getting new generations into untalented performers most of them unable to even play an instrument or write music. Just very few out there that are worth listening to. Yes, I said "Letting great music behind" because great music never dies.
JT has gotten better throughout the year though. "Sexy back" is the most awful and boring song I've ever heard but mirrors and can't stop the feeling is quite good actually. Nonetheless, he's the one with most "X-factor" in the group.
Not just in their group but out of all the boybands he said, and it's true. Even when you put him against Brian and AJ from BSB or Nick from 98 Degrees JC still ends up on top.
If JC worked with Richard, his solo career might be one of the best things in the music history. His voice suits this kind of song very well. I wish he would make another album with more ballads in it. Miss his voice so bad.

Richard Marx and JC Chasez should have recorded this song together on Richard Marx album. I love N'sync but I really love this version of the song too.

@@Claymore1977 a CD or compact disc is a medium used by artists that contains studio recorded songs before iTunes and Spotify and online music downloading was famous. You have shops like hmv and goldendisc that sell them. And that's how an artist makes money. The artist income is determined by how many copy of cds, dvds, tapes or vinyls are sold. Today artists could not make much money from these medium since iTunes and Spotify and other online music downloader are botching up their income at a fairly very low price per track instead of a whole album bought. People tend to buy only the popular songs @ 99 cents rather a whole album a 12 or 10 dollars per copy of whole 10 or12 track album. Artists nowadays make more money through other merchandise such as t-shirts and other aesthetics they use or develop and their sold out concerts.

All your Songs is my favorite Ilove so much ❤
One of my fav songs, Richard Marx is pure genius. JC what a voice, he truly honours the song and brings it to life. A beautiful duet.
JC was always my favorite singer in NSYNC, he has so much soul. And being a child of the 80s, I was all about Richard Marx back in the day. "Right Here Waiting" was one of my favorite Richard Marx songs.
Agreed, im 1975, Richard has done so many good songs, for me it also "Angelia" "Hazard" and "Now and forever" Cheers from Sweden!
You can see Richard look over to JC like a proud papa. Very touching song.
Beautiful
I knowww 🥺🥺🥺
They could be brothers
Jc sang one of Richard marcs songs when he auditioned. Hes been a fan of Richard since he was young
❤this is one mother who loves you and your beautiful voice in song ❤️
It's a "2021 and I'm still here for JC Chasez" button.
Such an amazing ,beautiful song ❤❤❤❤
2024 ❤
Love Richard Marx and Absolutely love JC,s Voice!
I love how Richard looks at JC with awe and respect. I 🧡 them both!!! They are both legends in their own right!
hello how are you doing today??
I agree I love them also
We know what Richard and JC can do and they didn't disappoint, but let's have some love for that pianist, what a voice 🔥🔥🔥
Haha yeah the pianist held his own!
No wonder that song was so incredible anything that Richard Mark touches turns to gold
Hello Deb how are you doing today??
Jc was the best singer in that group period idc
so why didnt you buy his album?
Lol 🤣
Agreed! He was the best and my favorite member. I bought his solo album. I liked it. I guess it was mainstream enough.
kenya clarke I agree
Period!!
JC Chasez, what a beautiful voice you have, and those beautiful eyes as well😍😍😍
The same here
I was born in January 1981, so I was 19 when this song came out, don't discount us early 80s kids! (Pearl Jam especially, all the way to Nsync.)
I was 17 when Nsync got huge in 1998, and had the chance to see them perform at my local radio station's free concert (92 Pro FM 24th birthday bash at PPAC) in spring of 1998, thanks to my best friend.
In 1998 and 99
I had already seen BSB once at the same venue about 5 months prior, and also again at the Providence Civic Center and again in Boston in the same year span (all thanks to my best friend's mom, who bought my ticket each time. I had absolutely nothing back then, so the privilege of having a wonderful friend whose mom treated me as her own, and taking me to my first concerts was absolutely life changing. And we didn't scream or stalk them (those screaming girls were cringe and embarrassing to us!)
Nsync, and their raw performance at the radio station gig, before they were famous, their 2 or 3 songs, was one of my favorite concerts ever. Thank you Richard Marx, thank you JC. You're forever embedded in music history, and your voices and lyrics are timeless.
I’m a 90s kid and this song was life! BUT I have to say I like this version better than the original... I know I can’t believe I’m saying it either but damn this was perfection!
I love this version!
I agree!!!
darav naseedfrm
This version will be a song in my wedding.
You are totaly right beautiful lady
I always think of my high school sweetheart when I hear this song. We only dated for a few months before he left for Job Corp and we lost touch. Ten years later and he found me again and we became best friends (I know he wanted more but we lived in different states and both understood that was nearly impossible so we compromised and were best friends). He sent me a voicemail that said he'd love me until the day he died and he'd meet me at Heavens Gate when he got there. A week later he was killed in a head on collision. This song will always hold a special place in my heart.
Bless ur heart, this made me cry. I'm sure he will be waiting for u ❤
I had no idea I needed this in my life. The 90s. J.C. is so so underrated. He killed the vocals on this song and so many of NSYNC's ballads
He definitely did still does
This is the first time I have ever heard Richard .
And also this song.
I'm 60 yrs old and I'm so in love now I have butterfly.
Chris Hayworth so true. Also notice that Richard Marx gives JC a chance to sing. He doesn’t try to dominate.
I AGREE
For a moment i read your name as Chris Hemsworth 😆 well rightly said 👍🏻
Chris Hayworth WELL stated: Clear, concise, succinct. . . & I TY Chris:)
@@ShujjaRizvi Ok I'll step up to the proverbially plate & admit I did exactly the same; ie initially glancing at the name; seeing 'Hemsworth' too. LoL C how powerful our perception can be. . . LOL & it is our 'perception' that informs us FAR more than objective facts-- which ARE available--but it does take some 'digging' to uncover good available TRUE material & FACTS.. Just sayin' FACTS R BETTER especially in debating political issues/ points to ponder, doncha think:) I do 🤔😮😃🤩
Richard looks like a proud father with JC. I love this video so much. I can't stop watching it.
Jc: Hey man, my mom LOves you.
xD
I came out my senior year ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@sarahsepanski1986 It’s me. I’m one of those moms 🙋🏼♀️
My dying day. You gave me a song that I can hang on to. I love you both. God bless you ❤️❤️❤️
Jc Bro, you have one of best voice I have ever heard!!!!
God DAMN this version of this is freaking BEAUTIFUL...the way the two of them harmonize is incredible.
+Adam S totally agree ,, and the guy on the keyboards did with them as well :)
I wish JC hit those high notes like before...
leeway1331 he probably still can but for this, Richard wouldnt be able to go so low, so this worked out great, richard has always had a high range, so they would offset one another, this was a good blend
yea, guess you're right. ... ahhh. that voice though...
Richard can go low....he just did....listen again..
Richard Marx's voice has never waned over the years, he is as brilliant live as he is on his cd's. He writes his own lyrics which are amazing, and defines what an artist really is.
His voice is intact becasue he doesnt smoke
untitled memories
Richard Marx has never been celebrated as he should be. He is amazing.
I am so glad its JC, JC you were, are and always will be a unmatched talent.
Man how I wished his career had exploded like JT's!!! JC was always my favorite I just could listen to him all day!!!
Mariana Moreira
Mariana Moreira yep wish that to
Com certeza, Mariana!
Yaaah my fave too JC 😍😍😍
Mariana Moreira very much agree with you
I agree. For all us elderly people growing up in the 80s I can totally agree we loved your music.
hello Lana how are you doing today??
That's when singers REALLY had talent! (EXCEPT MilleyVanilly LOL) If you EVER get a chance to see Richard Marx do a show, DONT MISS IT! We saw him a few years ago in MN, it was an intimate setting and it was TRULY ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS that I've EVER seen! Oh, and you'll LOVE his sense of humor too!😉
JC is so humble and simple with his output. True talent there! So hot!
*outfit
Pure class. What a wonderful performance of a truly beautiful and touching song. These two guys and the band are such amazing musicians. I love the way JC and the pianist shake hands as he leaves the stage.
Richard and JC both have great voices. ....but The guy at the piano did an awesome job too 😊❤💪
Es verdad.👍
+Gilbarwaters Lol you sound exactly like the Music Defener comic kid right now
+Gilbarwaters yes I agree with you. the generation who were born before 1990-1991 might be the last ones who live with such deep emotions.
hoanganh vutran I'm 98% sure you're being sarcastic and therefore 98% sure I love your comment.
spoken so well on classic love
+hoanganh vutran : born before 90's? i'm one of them, sir..., :)
I am teary eyed for JC. I miss his voice so much. I wish he'd released another album. He's so talented!!!
I was a major NSYNC fanatic. Jc was my fav. Best singer of them all and gosh he is still so gorgeous
I forever maintain that JC has one of the best male voices ever! Way better than Timberlake, I've loved him since I was in 7th grade!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
they are in my mind and love two so much
Justin Timberlake maintains that thought too....
JT has gotten better throughout the year though. "Sexy back" is the most awful and boring song I've ever heard but mirrors and can't stop the feeling is quite good actually. Nonetheless, he's the one with most "X-factor" in the group.
delusional
Lol nah, JT has a much higher octave.
I love Richard Marx since I was a kid. His songs are beautiful and timeless.
wow first time seeing this this is awesome rich is still amazing today jc is great as well
My mother loves him😂😂
I dont care, I've watched this like 40 times. Enjoyed it everytime like it was my first.
Me too ... oh my heart!
same!
Jc's voice has always been phenomenal! I don't know if I realized it at 13..
DITTO: 21 times!
Yes love it jove richard Marx love jc
Richard Marx voice takes me back to the best years.
june 2024... Brings tears to my eyes... One of my favorite songs ever... So nostalgic
Richard is obviously a classic! And even JT admitted that out of their group that JC always had the best voice and range.
Not just in their group but out of all the boybands he said, and it's true. Even when you put him against Brian and AJ from BSB or Nick from 98 Degrees JC still ends up on top.
islanti I would love to hear Brian and JC sing together my 2 favorites
islanti Brian who
gavin Lambert Brian the lead from Backstreet Boys
gavin Lambert that's a joke right? 😒
If JC worked with Richard, his solo career might be one of the best things in the music history. His voice suits this kind of song very well. I wish he would make another album with more ballads in it. Miss his voice so bad.
JC was always my favorite singer in his group. My son's middle name is Jacy after him.
This made me cry.... JC has the most beautiful, soulful voice. Hearing him sing just touches my heart. I really wish that he would put out some more music. The world needs it!
hello how are you doing today??
80s kid here, and I've always loved Richard Marx's music. I was a teenager when NSYNC was really big, but LOVED the BSB (still do).
But JC Chasez and that voice... always loved him. PLus he's very easy on the eyes :)
devilundercover love bsb wish i could sing aswell not to bad tho
Same here.. im a big fan if richard marx and i love both nsync and bsb..my fave nsync are JC and Lance while my fave bsb are nick and brian..i miss those days where all artists are actually making great music
Oh yea, much more handsome than JT
@@janjones7206 same
Yeah, I thought JC was the best singer in the group, but he was also the best looking, but really modest about it too. He seemed the shy type. :)
I had no idea richard marx wrote this song for them. Then as soon as i hear him sing it.. It all came to me. Yes, it deffinitely has richards feel to it. And damn just listen to jcs harminising. Amazing!!!
hello Jessica how are you doing today ???
I grew up with Richard Marx and then further had grown up with **NSYNC and JC CHA. I was blessed 😊
One of the coolest things about being a huge NSYNC fan was seeing them each work with people they looked up to. JC was heavily influenced by Richard Marx and here they are singing together
Yes love how his MMC audition came full circle!
I'm sure JC's Mom really does love Richard!
mr marx still has those magic vocal chords
Richard Harris right? Love him❤️❤️❤️
Richard Marx and JC Chasez should have recorded this song together on Richard Marx album. I love N'sync but I really love this version of the song too.
hello how are you doing today???
Watching this in August 2024 from Mongolia where I serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
I love Richard and JC was always my favorites. JT even said JC had the best voice of the group.
I smiled so wide when JC walked out onstage. Always a pleasure to hear him sing.
Also, who the fuck are the 1.8k people who disliked this video?
I have no idea who would dislike this. It's fantastic.
Lol
yeah hilarious that that many people would search it out yet hate on it.
People who don’t accept the fact that Justin wasn’t the only member of NSync.
Yes, there are idiots out there who genuinely believe that.
People born after 2004🤷🏻♀️
Jc's voice is so amazing. How i really wish people would give the amount of attention he deserves. Not only is he talented but also he is very very matured person. I know its kinda impossible but i really wish Jc would be back in the "game" soon.
I am 38 and I love you Richard Marx. You raiaed me honey!!!
I actually had no idea that an icon like Richard Marx was actually the one who wrote this wonderful song.
you should check out the writer and music producer under the lyric title of the song. mostly cds have them.
@@AcousticAdd1ct how bout the spanish version? Is it translated from it or another writer wrote the song, because spanish one sure didnt sound translated from english version.
💗
@@AcousticAdd1ct What is a cd?
Ahh, JC was always my fave singer in N'Sync. I had such a crush too!! I wish he would record some current slow songs like this!
Kristina Sterling you're pretty
Gosh, JC's voice still gives me chills. He needs to at least put out videos on RUclips. I miss his voice.
Hehe
Of course Richard Marx would create such a beautiful song. 🙏🔥 & Jc is the most amazing vocalist
This is literally the first time I've ever heard of Richard Marx and omfg his voice is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Like a raspy ANGEL
Same I love it
He was huge in the late 80's and early 90's. All the girls were crushing on him. I still love him to this day and listen to him all the time.
You have a lot of catching up to do
How to say your young without saying your young. Richard Marx. One of the great singer songwriters
Well you are about to be amazed. Richard has a ton of great music.
The man in the piano is Appreciated....
Love their harmonizing. JC was always my favorite, he still has an awesome voice, still handsome too. Wish he would make another record.
I love him so much.
In that same universe, Richard Marx Sings This song with Justin Timberlake
Same here
This song always makes me wanna cry. Such a beautiful song & amazing artist JC!❤
