Nice review and setup of this Hybrid Cam. I'm glad to see more of these coming on the market as it sure is a much more light weight option for FPV and Video Recording ;-) See you in the Air!

Just give us one camera that does it all. Im sure manufacturer could make an all in one small good hd fpv with fpv and hd dvr? Instead of wire two cameras glued together and 30x30 control dvr with a jubble of wire. Thanks for the review Mr Newton.😁👍🇬🇧

Shown at 2:18 and 5:35 They come with most (but not all) run cams. Have to buy from Runcam if you dont have one already
How do i change my setting or resolution?
Hey, I'm seeing that the manual has now changed and now you can update the FPV camera through the tx and rx pads via the speedybee app! I already been playing around but in my circumstances and lack of a spare UART, difficult to see the differences. I can't find any information online, but there is currently 4 other firmwares available! Would make for an excellent video... just a thought!

Great vid thank you. My auto record only last only last 3 secs, red light goes away In OSD and HD Preview pops up. Ive updated the firmware and even took off Auto record for manual and it still turns off. I'm I missing something in the setup?
Footage looks great but only for 3 secs.
Change the SD card, format the card, check soldering, check connections. Mine doesn't record at all now.
@@AndrewNewton Hi chaps, I was in contact with Runcam service, they were very helpful. My fpv feed stopped working, after many attempts following their instructions I had to send it back to them and I finally got a refund from Hobbyking. Bought another one and works perfectly, apart from the HD-stop-recording issue. Runcam said that formatting the card helps, which it does sometimes.
So now I am looking into how to re-start the HD recording in-flight, if it stops again.
Andrew, do you have experince wih that? Or does anyone else know? Following the intstructions in the manual weren't successful. I have a Matek 405 Wing and use Ardupilot with the mission planner.

Andrew, i have just got one of these and i have wired it up as instructed.. but wen i power on all i get is a green solid LED.. the instructions say thats the QR setting i have tried for over an hour to get it to read the QR but nothing// any idea or is this a faulty one do you think
Have you tried pushing buttons, or shading your phone screen? Mine is playing up too, cant get the SD card recognised.
Thanks for the video. How do you power the camera? I know the manual says not to power it directly by battery, so how do you power it?
I did use the flight battery balance plug. No problems on a plane, maybe they mean quads

Hi, I'm looking to use one of these cameras attached to a helmet for cycling, is it possible to just attach this camera to a battery and use it like that?
Yes that would work, but Runcam Thumb would be better.
How do you set the date/time on this thing? I can't find it anywhere in the Runcam app.

Any reason why the camera won't scan the QR code? I have mine in QR mode but when i put the code in front of it nothing happens. I've done everything I can about no reflections. I just can't get my camera out of 2.7k @ 30fps
Try closer and further away maybe. No other reason really
I've just purchased a Cinequeen with the run cam hybrid and it is stuck saying "updating..." it won't allow me to change the modes or even shut it off. do you know if there is a way to reset the cam or a fix for this?
Mine has stopped working. Have you tried firmware update through a flight control board?
Andrew Newton I have tried updating it with the SD card method but still no luck. I am currently in contact with runcam trying to figure this out. When you say yours stopped working, nothing works? My fpv feed is perfect but I cannot use the HD feature which was what I intended to use for this tiny whoop. It’s stuck saying “updating...” on my osd and I’ve also left it on as long as I could to see if it were to ever finish updating but no luck!

Reset and try a different card maybe. Contact Runcam if that doesn't help.
I got mine to work finally but the FPV feed looks horrible. Is that your experience too? My Runcam Nano 2 picture is way way better than on this camera.

DId you get this sorted? Im having the same issue and suspect its my SD card thats not compatible or something
@@c0y0te007 I did and I can't tell you what I did to get it working. I just tried it again several days later and it happened to work. Par for the course really. Every last bit of this Chinese made stuff is absolute junk. It's like they're having a contest in China to see who can make the biggest piece of junk and charge the most for it.
Not keen on that cable, or the way it exits the camera...prefer the flat ribbon tbh....
If it's anything like the one fpv.blue used (it looks the same from what I've seen online) it should be quite a bit more durable than the typical ribbons, and more flexible too.
Yes more flexible and durable than the flat ribbon I think.
@@AndrewNewton I suppose it depends how careful you are with it basically...Are the ribbon cables replaceable?
i believe they sell this stuff knowing it will never work. push the buttons on mine nothing happens. cant get it working.
They are all too prone to damage for my use
