Poor Aoi San had to cross that ricketty bridge in her city shoes. I thought they might have to fish her out of the creek, but she assured us she can swim ! I like the idea of those candled where they've added diesel to the wax.... they must burn really well!! The pity is that as of today ( 23Jan 2022) Myanmar is still locked down with no tourists allowed to enter the counyry.
Aoi san is always the best guide !!---and this is so much more interesting than just another downtown hotel,or just another "Westernised" big restaurant. This is more like real life,with real people. And Aoi san gives it all extra life and charm ! !

A few questions please: 1) In these days of Covid-19 pandemic, why is virtually nobody wearing face masks in your films? 2) Why is the electricity beeing cut off so often that people need to use candles? 3) Why can't tourists visit Myanmar (Burma) now?
1) As the Omicron symptoms are much less severe than previous versions of Covid people have lost their fear of it. 2) The government cannot supply enough energy to the powerplants so have to shut down the grid quite often. Many households also cannot pay their electricity bills but all households suffer due to this. 3) The current rulers of Myanmar have put in a strict new visa system that requires all visitors to have direct permission from them to enter. Getting such permission requires a valid purpose in Myanmar such as business or a job, lots of paperwork and a 2 month processing time.
