Doc what formula is used in estimating weight in a 15 year old comatose patients?
Weight (kg) = 4 x age in years (though this reaches a maximum of 14 years)

Yes it’s the constant so you divided it in equal parts
When calculating for deficit, are we always supposed to use 10% as dehydration??
the assumption is they have severe dehydration (100ml/kg) of fluids
Doc so do we put two IV lines one for the fluids and one for insulin?

It may be indicated on the card otherwise you check on physical examination
By looking at the colour of the under five card. Pink for girl and blue for boy
