Awesome 👏
Here for Hunter 😆
A race clock on the screen would be helpful...
biceps win races, especially these ones. that was golden! deserved the like
The difference is essentialy on the race, so for hyrox the most important is the big heart ! Without that the tiredness come quickly
It’s a good competition, I hope they prepare the judges better, there were many squats that did not go down 90 degrees as indicated in the rulebook
Lets gooooo!!!
Beast mode for real . Loved it all thank you 🎉❤ 😅you all won I’m my eyes …. Loved what Hunter said . Do scary things . Mic drop .
Hunter is a monster x
Brutal
Too bad the athletes lower on the bracket get so little air time. It feels like this was a Hunter documentary. All due respect to him tho. He's a top ultra human beast.
That's normal. You see the same thing in the tour and marathons.
On the sled pull how many feet allowed to step back per pull before reset?
👏🏼👏🏼
I will be there soon, becoming a world champion representing my city and my country Peru. I decreeded!
Vamos Perú caramba!!! 🔥
It’d be cool if there were details of what’s actually taking place at each stage, for those who don’t know.
Is it 1km runs? 1km ski erg…?
(First time I’ve seen your channel, randomly recommended by RUclips.)
We are pretty happy to welcome you here @AndyLawson.
In the following video you can find information about the Race Format: ruclips.net/video/btOVW8eTdPY/видео.html
If you have any questions, we'll be happy to answer through our different channels

@@HYROX_OFFICIAL cheers. I actually first heard of your events via Mark Lewis (& his above average coverage 😁), but in the moment of watching this video I couldn’t recall specific details of the different distances, weights, etc., so thought it’d be cool if recaps were put up at each stage, even if just a little infographic at different points.
Shouldn’t bother those who know it all already too much, and helps inform / remind newcomers 👍🏼
It's 8K Running, divided by 8 functional workouts between each one of them :)
And it goes like: Skierg, Sled push, Sled Pull, Burpee broad jumps, Rowing, Farmers Carry, Sandbag Lunges and Wall Balls.
There are different weights for each category; from open division to Pro, and as for doubles category, as well! :)
What am I missing on the rule book for burpees?? Watching from 28:43 and comparing with the rule book "In the lower position, the athlete’s chest must clearly touch the ground." Hunters breast quite often does not touch the ground...would not make a big difference, but can somebody explain?
I had the same question when I first saw this video. If you watched the Stockholm video, when they were doing the athletes meeting, they were harping down hard on proper execution for the burpee's and my guess is because they felt Hunter got away with a ton of improperly executed burpees in this video, but I'm definitely no judge.
Are there any doping controls?
Only one athlete actually trains for this event and it’s the sherif
McIntyre is beast!
Are you allowed to move your hands forward during the descent on the Burpees? I saw Hunter using that technique.
Been training for one myself and was wondering the same thing, no rules on it apparently, the only rule is you cant put your hands forward more then an arms length after you make that initial jump.
There now is. Hunter has changed his form as a result.
How can you not love Hunter 🤩
Well, it's refreshing to have someone so brash on center stage in these days of sappy, sentimental niceness. I love it. But it's also how you can not love Hunter. He can be a bit much sometimes.
Hunter McIntyre is definitely a beast from what I can see. I’m new to this sport, for the Burpee broad jump, doesn’t your chest have to touch the ground? When I was watching Hunter, it didn’t look like his touch the ground at all.
Reminds me of his burpees over bar in CrossFit haha
I had exactly the same question, but could not find the answer yet...
Hunter 💪🏻💪🏻
amazing event! Hunter is unbeatable
he missed nearly every burpee...no rules for him? chest touch bottom is not his thing...
What is the depth standard on wallballs?
I think we already have a world championship of the sport of fitness, but this is cool and fun too.
This is not fitness. Hunter was invited to CF games without qualifying a couple of years ago and had nothing to contribute with, so he yet again found a made up ”fitness sport” that suits his skills.
This sport will kill CrossFit if CrossFit keep making the barrier to entry more daunting for newbies with the cooked high skill low fitness movements they keep pulling out
@@jackshipley1605 Yeah, crossover double unders will kill CrossFit. 🙄
crossfiters can't run for shiz loool@@TheBookofDaniel
@@TheBookofDaniel How can you say this is not fitness, would highly recommend going through the different parts of Hyrox and you'll see how much fitness you need for it.
Can anyone explain to me why most people use this "elbow" sled technique for pushing? For example, you can clearly see in Hunter that the sled quite often comes in the rear up of the ground, which means that a lot of the power is wasted on lifting the sled and not on pushing it forward? I would be really interested to know if there is no better technique, or why the straight-arm technique is not used, as I think much less power is wasted lifting the sled.
I use this technique too but it's down to personal preference. My gym buddy doesn't like it but I find it a lot easier
I'm pretty sure that lifting the sled up is better though, because a lot of energy is wasted through the friction of the sled and the ground. With lifting you reduce the friction probably by a lot and thus need to push the sled a little bit less.
@Mathis1207 mhh, but if I look at the physical principles, the sliding friction is independent of the contact surface, i.e. only dependent on the surface texture and the weight. However, neither the weight nor the surface texture changes when it is lifted, or am I missing something?
@@klaussobieray When doing this myself it feels like you almost naturally end up lifting the near side of the sled when pushing, and when the friction is only on the front part of the sled it does feel easier to move but does put more strain on you because your lifting the weight. I think it does help overall slightly lifting the weight but only for someone of Hunters build who probably finds it much easier then a lighter person to slightly lift the weight whereas for myself it took a lot more out of me to lift the sled slightly.
@PT_Oskar Yes, I think that with an appropriate physique, the feeling is there that you can apply more force against the sled that way, even if part of the force is actually wasted by lifting. Perhaps it is more than a feeling in real life, but from a purely theoretical viewpoint, I think that any movement/force that is not horizontal is wasted, even if it feels subjectively better for some when the sled is lifted a little. So I'll keep experimenting and find the point where too low is too low for applying the necessary force to move that thing in a decent time ;-)
Music?
Is this an endurance race or speed race?
Yes.
what about top 4?
A lot of no-rep burpees...
Hunter comes across as a massive bell end
@@dpcater worded perfectly 👍
Do these athletes undergo ped testing of any sort ? Seriously impressive stuff
nah hyrox don't drug test
That’s pretty obvious just by looking at the champ
cuantas reps son de cada uno
Wall Balls en categoría Pro/Elite son 100 reps, con 6 y 9 kg, en mujeres y hombres respectivamente.
Más info en HYROX.COM 😉
So of his burpees his coming up on his knees ?? lol
Yey! Olympics 😂😂😂
huh? you couldn't hang with these dudes bum
The amount of ads in this video is a complete joke
How much does this pay? I mean guys participating knowing that they will never beat Hunter?
winner got 20k decent price for 2nd and 3rd
Do they dope test at these events, because clearly some of these guys are on the juice.
Michael Jordan comparison is a stretch
Great athletes but their rowing form is the worst I've seen, and I see many as I am an indoor rowing Trainer... they could improve by 15-20% just adjustying their technique
do you guys drug test at all? Surely all these guys could be on EPO
don't think so but Hunter has always claimed natural and I believe it.
@DepressedGenZer lance armstong also claimed natty lol.
I find it weird how there’s literally no testing for a sporting event that’s getting as big as hydrox is. For the pro event
Did Hunter give Dave Magita the finger as he passed by? He should have been penalized for that, seriously.
Get a grip
such a brenda comment on your part. is that all you got from watching this?
you stil engaged in pacifier therapy?
@@kYA00h😂 I haven’t heard from Brenda in years since Karen took all the limelight.
Come on, don‘t be such a whimp.
So this is like 1 event of 15 for the Crossfit Games. A grueling event but still just one.
you have to have actual cardio for this event and it's safer
Take a look at Hunters burpees compared to the other athletes... shame.
is it forbidden to wear shirts? 😂
Almost 😂😂
This has to be the weirdest "sport" ever created.
Like CrossFit without the strength events.
but with a lot more running and athleticism.
Meaning: friendly for people who's not interested in heavy liftings.
@@Fabominguez running yes, athleticism not at all.
@@RogueCylon I hope you’re not getting confused by its meaning and definition with “athletics”.
‘Good day!
@@RogueCylon I invite you to try the course and see how your quads feel halfway into the lunges. The sled push and pull are the 'easier' ones for me because I'm shorter and stronger than the average Hyrox competitor (not these guys). If you don't have strength those will be your undoing. The burpee broad jump is a torture gauntlet for most. The run afterwards feels like a break.
@@GA-xc9ub I have thanks.
What on earth? So CrossFit silliness only for white dudes but under a different name?
What does their skin color have to do with anything?
Mate this workout would destroy you. I doubt you could even run 1km with a stupid comment like that.
🎉 everyone is welcome 🎉
why the hate? You couldn't hang with any of these guys.
What shoe is hunter using
Puma Nitro 2. Always with the black cat 🤙
