The 1st song & her voice make enough beauty to move me. But her singing in french like everyday spoken by french people is the added unexpected wonder! My, how amazing Jessye Norman was.
Lady Jessie Norman was totally fluent in French. She gave to it the accent she wished...she could speak with Italian accent, or German..whatever was funny to her...another talent she had ....
LA Divina Jessye never sang in a language she did not speak which is why she sang so authentically in so many languages. She was so majestic and absolutely stunning. I miss her terribly.
C'est une merveille que Jessy Norman interprète ce thème. Ce sont ces choses qui font que la vie est cette douce symphonie éternelle à cacher au fond de son âme...
I stumbled upon the album “I Was Born…” a few years ago, and marveled at how masterfully she performed these intimate Legrand songs. It didnt hurt having the composer accompanying her, and he never gets in her way. This led me to her album of Brahms lieder, also intimate for an otherwise big voice. 7:46
Beautiful Rendition, the photo is powerful as well. Looks as if a powerful corrosive tear has torn away apart of her cheek permanently, leaving a scar with a crevice that along with the music reaches deep into the depths of ones soul.
I miss my private friend, Jesse, who felt that her voice was not right for Die hirt auf de felsen, Schubert's last composition. I've performed it many times as a clarinettist. Jesse was wrong! I'm sad to say it.
I miss her warmth and phraseggio you know. We had mutual friends but I never met her nor heard her live . Am 31 baritone. She was an Imperator one of the best songstress of Opera and many other genres who ever lived.

Słucham tego cuda nocą, kiedy za oknem bajkowa sceneria. Ten nieziemski głos topi lód. Cudo.❤
GOSH WE MISS YOU. I BURSTED INTO TEARS
Beautiful voice and exquisite portrait of her - in that headpiece, somewhat African, somewhat renaissance....
I really love her velvet voice. Rest in perfect peace. Mina
Rest well in peace, dear friend for one day.
Una gran voz.
Never knew Lady Norman had sung these 2 easy pieces...funny..
"leicht" (easy...) diesen unvergesslichen Legrand-Song angemessen (!) zu singen ist das ganz sicher NICHT ...😊
Cette chanson se prête aux voix lyriques ,Mme Norman est parfaite
