Hi Rachel it is always lovely seeing you on your channel. Love your coloured hair it suits you. I must say you look different relaxed and taking it easy day which we should all have. Me time with your amazing fabric choice purchase cannot wait to see what you make next. Enjoy the rest of your day ciao for now XXX
Just catching up with videos and loved “spending the day with you”! Any day spent looking at fabric is a fun day, isn’t it. Lovely embroidery work, how fun to do a bit of slow crewel work. I used to do a lot of that. Hugs from Oregon.
Ooh excited to see what you make with your Atelier Jupe fabrics! I think the chevron one would make such a great Mabel dress, The colours are beautiful!
Lovely vlog thanks for taking us with you for the day. I love Stitch and Stash as she always stocks Atelier Jupe which I love and even without her sale she is always cheaper than everyone else. She is also really helpful when I have needed to email her, great indie shop. Loved your flowers too look forward to you growing some next year. 😊
Hi Rachel in my opinion your hair looks FAB I think the softer tone looks great on you . In my opinion I think you are great your talent all you share with us and your down to earth honesty is so refreshing Please please don’t be offended but I hate to hear you beat yourself up , you are such a lovely lady xxxxxx in every way xxxx
I love the thelma fabric. I made the cashmerette club Murcot vest (gilet) with it and used the matching lining fabric. I made mine in the lilac but want to get more as they'd make great Christmas gifts for the family (despite it being summertime then).I recommend using a walking foot! It'll reduce the drag.
At least half my jersey top necklines are just folded in 3/8 inch and top-stitched and they come out beautifully. I like the neckband for sportier tees
Hello Rachel Hair color is quite nice You need to spend a day cutting out some of those beautiful fabrics that you have shown us recently and have a full day of sewing I know that the speed that you sew you can get quite a few garments completed Can't wait to see more makes How do you store your fabrics by type and size of pieces? Like all pieces for blouses or pant weights, desses etc So you can easily pick one and do a project Happy sewing Take care 👗✂️🪡🧵👚
Loving your new hair colour 😍. I made the IAm Hathor earlier this year, it's in a makes vlog that i did. Its a really easy sew, you'll tackle it no problem. I love mine and will definitely be making more xx
Lovely day watching you. Lovely fabrics. Your hair and the colour really suits you up. Also Rachel those patterns of square storage you bought. I also have a real fright when I am making them. However, I have bought some Spencer Ogg patterns her name is Diane and she is based in Manchester. She has lots of bags and storage boxes there isnt a paper pattern but she does a really good tutorial with most of her storage boxes and bags. Im not into making bags myself but the storage boxes for a suit case are really good......................
Love the hair colour. Interested in the bucket hat as I have a grandson à similar age. Wish I had known about the sale😂but probably a good job I didn't know... Will you give sufficient notice of the next Northern sew sisters live as I keep missing them! 😊
Hi Rachel, loved the video. Omg, you buy so much fabric!! I thought I bought a lot but you win hands down 😂😂 I did buy the bargain double gauze you recommended.
i really enjoy this style of video...i feel like i had a visit...im so wanting to shop for fabric though lol...cute bucket hats...i think ill use up my fq for that too
l like your hair that colour Racheal i use a simillar shade on mine and always panic a bit at first ! but after a couple of washes its just right as a retired stylist ive been every colour under the sun too x🤣
I have made a Hathor with hood and welt pockets in a padded fabric from metermeter. The welt with the fabric was tricky but looks great however I couldn't figure out how to do the lining around the armholes and its not great, apparently you have to do the burrito method, for me the instructions were lacking for that but won't be any bother for you, its a great addition to my autumn wardrobe
Love your ash blonde, it softens your face beautifully. 🌹❤️ I’ve gone to ash blonde (even silver at times) there’s nothing flattering about brassy blonde on the mature woman.
Great vlog Rachel and loved seeing your day. Always enjoy your fabric haul but enjoyed seeing your buys from Stitch and Stash which is new to me and I'll go browse.Think your embroidered hat is going to be so cute and looking forward to the finished hat - you've done well for first time embroidery. Where is Piper? And how is Martin doing? Bet you can't wait till the cool fall days when you can take Piper for a walk .
Lovely video and really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your day. By the way the hair looks nice to and the embroidery is coming along lovely. Looking forward to seeing the both yours and Layla's hat. x
Hi Rachel.. I just love a day in the life type vlogs 👌. Really enjoyed coming along with you 😁. Your hair looks lovely 💖. Great fabrics as usual and your embroidery looks gorgeous... Can't wait to see it finished. Beautiful flowers too 💐. Summer is back at last 😜😎🌞.. let's hope it lasts 🙏🌻😘
Awe Rachael, thank you for sharing your day. Loved that video. I love that idea of putting embroidery on the bucket hat. I've made loads of them but they have always been using printed/pattern fabric so I'm going to look for plain fabric and try the embroidery next time. By the way, your hair does look ash blonde to me and it looks great. Give it time, you'll get used to it. xx
Rachel, I love these kinds of videos….a little bit of everything! Also your hair looks great and is so cute tied up. Can’t wait to see your finished hat. ❤️
This was a lovely video Rachel! I have to say that I binged many of your weekly vlogs back when I found your channel and love your style. Would love to see Martin pop in on one in the future. Such a funny guy, especially during “Beer-mas”!
I really enjoyed spending the day with you Rachel. I think your new hair colour really suits your skin tone and the more I saw of it during your day, the more I thought so. I also liked your hair being “up”, and who cares if your parting is left, right, centre or non existent; you do You. You are a stylish lady. Hugs x
When you relocated to the conservatory, I noticed your hair does look a lovely ash blond. It’s great on you. Your fabric haul is epic! I especially love the black fabric with the white roses arranged in wreaths. So pretty. This is a wonderful video! Very well done. I’m prepping fabric for its pretreat wash by surging raw edges. Thunderstorms are all around. My husky, Astrid is helping by sleeping on my left foot, but my kitty Zoe is asleep in the other room. I’ve had a bit of a low ebb with my sew Jo, so I’m trying to get going by prepping and cleaning up my sewing room, that helps me sometimes. Your video is a great encouragement to get sewing too, as always. I love to embroider. My mom taught me when I was very young. I also like to cross stitch. Take care!
I agree with the other comments that the new hair colour suits you but you have to like it yourself to want to keep it. Also, I like the side parting. It looks nice on you. I’m at home in Suffolk watching this video but I’ve just come back from a week away in the Yorkshire Dales (we stayed in Airton) for a hiking holiday. Your neck of the woods is beautiful 😊
Hi Rachel! I have missed your channel for quite sometime and I do declare - you look different! I focused on you and listened of course and you mentioned your hair color has changed but that is not it - well all of it. I decided it is your lips! They are fuller aren't they? Do you use the substance they are selling now? No matter, you and they look great! Fun to follow you for a day or part of one - if you followed me you would be asleep in a minute! You are always making and buying beautiful things we love to see. I especially LOVE the Rainbow colorful piece and am interested in what you will do with it. Good to see you again.
Hi Rachel! Boyes (don't know how to spell it!) looks like an amazing shop! We don't have anything like that in Belfast, and I'm very jealous. 😆 I loved the black fabric with the pink roses, and £4 a metre!! 😍 It would make a fabulous Vampire's Wife style dress. Lynne 🤩☘️
I love the colour of your hair, it’s much softer on you and looks wonderful. It doesn’t look dark on camera, just looks like a lovely cool blonde. Your outfit looks fab as well. And great job on the embroidery. Looking forward to seeing how your hat turns out.
Hi love the vlog. Wish our Boyes had as nice fabrics as yours! Hope you are still enjoying your embroidery. The needles you use for embroidery vary according to the thickness of thread you use and the fabric. As long as it will take the thread and it is sharp enough to go through the fabric I wouldn't worry. Cross stitch is usually done on open weave fabric so thicker needles can be used. There are embroidery , tapestry and crewel needles available.. The stranded threads you are using can be split into separate threads to suit your needs. I like to use 3 strands in a fine needle. Embroidery needles are usually quite fine with a large eye. Crewel or tapestry needles are thicker and will take wool or thick threads. Hope this is helpful and you fall in love with embroidery. I have done it since I was a child. I am now learning free motion machine embroidery. Exciting!!! Sorry for the long post. Enjoy. xx
@@StitchedUp I tend to use embroidery needles for most hand sewing because the eye makes them easy to thread. If you want to add small beads to embroidery you need beading needles and special thread because they are really fine needles but that is a whole other story! Its addictive!!! xx
Great vlog Rachel, love the new hair colour and I have got to say the lilac in the atelier jupe fabrics really made the colour pop. Can’t wait to see them made up 😊 oh and yes please to the tutorial 😊
Hello Rachel, loved spending some time with you on your day off!! Love the hair, think it suits really well! Don’t forget to show us the hat when it’s done! 🐾🐾
Great video. Love your fabrics. Love the hathor, have made four so far and plan another for this autumn, such a practical pattern. Cross stitch needle is blunt ended, not suitable for embroidery. Just use any normal sharp needle with a big enough eye for a couple of strands of embroidery floss. Well done if you used the Cross stitch needle!
Reading through the comments most people seem to agree with me that your hair colour is lovely and it suits you very well. I was a little disappointed with my sew haley jane box as i can't wear pink, so I'm going to dye it blue. The fabric is lovely quality, just not my colour. Xx
Could you show us your fabric stash? It looks like you have so many beautiful fabrics in the shelves behind you. It would be fun if you could show them to us.
What is the name of the black printed fabric and fabric base ie; rayon, you purchased from Rainbow Fabrics? P. S a fabric stash video would be awesome to see! Thank you :)
I think your hair needs some strawberry blonde highlights to brighten. To me the colour doesn't lift from your natural skin tone. However, my monitor likely is not accurate and the colour could be wonderful in person. I have summer beach y blondes in my hair right now and going in October to get low lights and a bit of red, as I wear more subtle or darker colours in fall and winter.
I love the colour of your hair. Yes, it looks ash-blonde. It really suits your complexion and makes your eyes look sky blue. I always love watching your vlogs. Do you still wear your beach pyjamas? (on intro to vlog) they look super cute and comfy.

Thumbs up for the new hair color. Change is important to us ladies! Thanks for sharing your day!😊
