I absolutely love unpainted natural grain guitars!!!! And have a beat up 1992 Washburn N4 Nuno Bettencourt model that looks almost like his original N4. And of the many times I got to meet and hang out with Nuno I had the luck of actually holding the original N4.
Awesome attitude toward the gear! I recently made a video talking about the idea of the "one guitar to rule them all". It's kind of silly how people are always looking for something else instead of making do with what they have.
In my opinion...Tele's with humbuckers are the perfect alternative to les pauls. The weak point with a LP is that the head stock will break off if the guitar falls over because of the angle of the head stock and it's mahogany neck. With a Fender maple neck and straight angle head stock they are super strong and will not break. Also the strings stay straight going from nut to tuners so there is less friction on the nut and better tuning stability where as a LP veers off to the left and right and catches on the nut. Also people that don't like LP's complain they are too dark or muddy sometimes...possibly due to the heavier mahogany. Humbuckers on a tele will be that little bit brighter so all the cons of a LP are sorted on a tele! And they are not heavy! Perfect!
Check out Brian Setzer playing with Hotei Tomayasu and Char live, some pretty great guitar battles and as good as you thought Setzer was you will find out he's significantly better than even that.

Just got my vinyl in the mail. That's the main riff from Arrows, incase anybody had the same issue as myself.
