@NexisFilms abbath wrote most of (if not all) of this album intending it to be immortal's next album. but there was the whole legal thing and now it's his first solo album. either way, it made it's way to our ears.

Had to turn the quality down to 144p, then it was just perfect.

Fuck. You got it. I was listening to the entire album, and I knew something was off. Something I couldn't actually grasp. I didn't know what it was, but I knew something made this album, particularly this song, different. I hadn't realized the use of major chords until I read your comment. I can't believe how much it changes the feel of the song.
You're right, I have not seen other black metal bands excel in the use of major chords with such grace; it's not an easy genre to do such thing with.

+botG1head This is immortal now, whatever Demonaz and Horgh might come up with, I doubt it's going to be as good as this, though Horgh is a great drummer, Demonaz can't really play extreme metal guitar anymore, and really...don't know how much he can compose as far as music, Abbath always wrote the majority of the music and Demonaz the lyrics.
