This tune, even from episode one was lodged in my brain, not for its beauty but it reminded me of another. It’s clearly influenced by ‘The Day after Tomorrow’s main theme (11yrs prior). Someone better get their legal team in place!!!

Outstanding music and now that he explains the music notes with the plot, I can’t comprehend his brilliance. Bravo👏
When I first heard this it reminded me of Erik Satie but having listened to it a lot I think it is unique and beautiful
I also love the compositions by Eric Satie. My favourite, Gnossienne #1

For non-musicians and non-professionals, I think it's easy for us to forget (or not even think about) the incredible impact that the musical soundtrack has on the experience and understanding of a film (or, in this case, a tv show). This is one of the rare times that I've been so moved and so impressed by the music that I've gone exploring to find out more about the people who have written and performed and engineered the sounds. This music - all of it! - is some of the most evocative and emotionally impactful and precisely relevant of any I've heard in any film......I will never again take for granted the audio experience of anything I'm watching.....

Yes, as Rebecca P says below, this is one of the few most haunting and captivating pieces of music to be heard as a theme for a television series. It fits perfectly. I caught it 'properly' watching the earlier series on catch up where no voice over spoils it. Thank you for uploading both the theme and this insight into how you composed and arranged the theme. It is just a shame that is that it is so short but obviously it has to be. I have heard and enjoyed the longer, differently arranged version here too and will continue to listen ! Many thanks again.
