Kitchen renovations are enough to make anyone go bananas! Our kitchen reno almost killed me..lol.. having the floor tiles removed was so messy.. omg.. the whole kitchen reno took a week longer than expected too. But now, I am happy to have had it done :)

Love this vlog Madeleine and don't let those who aren't happy about the talking get to you. Talking is part of you being you and I don't see anything wrong with that. Some people just seem to spend their lives complaining about something and being around that negative environment is going to cause health issues due to stress. I love your channel, having moved to Warwick from Devon last year, it’s wonderful to see and listen to someone from the West Country. I was a registered mental health nurse for 45 years and I can tell you that we all have issues / struggles which could be diagnosed as a mental health issue. If a diagnosis would help you then you should seek one but don’t do it because your audience suggests it. You are a beautiful unique individual and we only see a snapshot of your life, this doesn’t make us experts. Keep being you, the majority of us obviously love you as you are ❤️
Exactly, as far as I can see, it’s just the comments that has made her question herself. Presumably up to this point in her life she’s been okay. She strikes me as a normal bubbly chatty person. As you say, we all have issues no one doesn’t, it doesn’t automatically mean that they have autism or ADHD

I recently found out recently that I am Neurodiverse via a work assessment. They followed through with 10 hours and support therapy. It was an amazing feeling in my 40s to know my struggles and anxieties were just my brain being different, not wrong just different. I'm proud of who I am even without atypical thinking 😁

OMG! I screamed when you painted over the white. I knew you'd do that because you'd talked about matching the other cupboards but still I somehow hoped you'd leave the new ones white. All-white kitchen is still my dream kitchen so :-(
I actually wish you'd talk us MORE through the process of the reno, especially since you do so much on your own. It's a learning process and even if I'm sitting in my tiny apartment with no DIY in sight I'm happy for you to grow and learn. Looking forward to more talking from you. Aww haha well at least half the kitchen will be white but I adore green! Thanks for the vote of confidence for chatting through the reno! I love to share the details so will make sure to keep doing that and not be shy talking through it all! Alex thankfully bought something to put the paint into and spray with so it isn’t a spray bottle like the aerosol cans but instead a spraying device (can’t think of the name!)

For what it's worth, referring to around the 19 minute mark, I love the talking. I like hearing the backstory and the details. I agree, if people don't like it, they can fast forward!

And 28 minutes... it's not my place to say whether you have ADHD (or ASD) or not, that's up to a professional to diagnose. But it's worth checking into in part because if you do have either of these, it can be a huge relief if you've struggled with certain things that seem to not be a struggle for others. And suddenly there can be a lot of new doors opened. In the last few months a few of the RUclipsrs I love to watch have been diagnosed with ADHD and it makes a lot of sense. People with ADHD tend to be very creative and think outside the proverbial box, are great problem solvers, and love doing independent projects and working on lots of different things. It's one of our major strengths! And I think there may be more ADHD folks who are YT creators than the general population.
But basically, if you even remotely think you might have ADHD or ASD, I'd get an evaluation. Keep in mind that things like depression and thyroid disorder can cause a lot of ADHD symptoms. But also depression and anxiety are extremely common co-morbidities with ADHD, so ADHD is sometimes misdiagnosed purely as depression and/or anxiety, especially if it wasn't caught earlier in life.

As someone with ADHD, I relate to you, even though I don't think it has anything to actually DO with ADHD, or you know, it might. I am always my happiest when I am busy, and my favorite coping mechanism is building, painting, crafting. My father is a carpenter (we don't talk about him though) so I grew up building.
Love it! Your dreams and ideas are coming together ❤. Brilliant idea to get a hot tub. You both work so hard it will be sooooo good to relax and destress in there after work 😃. Get a gazebo to cover it and solar lights so that you can use it into dusk - wonderful!

To heck with RUclips algorithms, etc. I think most of your viewers would happily wait until you have time to upload with everything you have going on. Lots of other youtubers post community messages if needs be when they have been too busy to post a video, and you shouldn't worry if you need to do that too. Just my two cents 😊 You and Alex are doing an amazing job! Can't wait (but will!!!! 😉😉) for the end result! 😘😘

If having a label helps you identify and accept your struggles with yourself, lean into it. Otherwise, I would seek out a proper diagnosis. You’d be surprised how far many things your high functioning anxiety can tick the boxes for and match to.
So happy you were able to get the fireplace sorted now! The kitchen is going to be wicked come winter time. Funny enough I’m sitting wearing the navy version of your pinky orange top!

FYI, you might find the wood filler on any seams might crack overtime. Normally something like a paintable silicone filler is better as it can contract a bit.

Just wanted to jump in as a woman with adhd - I must admit, I always wondered if I should write something, but didn't because I don't like people trying to diagnose someone over the internet. That being said, if you would even care for it, I'd def recommend getting yourself checked. I admit, I see A LOT of adhd-related behaviour in your actions and the way you speak. People rarely realise how complex adhd actually is and just summarise it as being "hyper" (ugh). So (as I said, if you're even interested) don't let the stereotypes you've heard make you instantly cross it of the list, as it also tends to link with anxiety, OCD, etc and finding the root of these problems very often helps in addressing them. I'm so sorry if it's annoying of me, but getting a diagnosis literally changed my life for the better and cleared up so much. Have a great week! 💕

You are doing a fantastic job. Just wonder how much re-cyling you are able to do e.g.changing the cupboard handles,what are you doing with the old ones? And the original windows? I struggle to renovate that much unless I can justify it.

Thanks! Old handles will be repurposed elsewhere in the house and old windows we will keep a couple and I want to make them into mirrors. The windows are justified because of the heating savings over the years will make them far more eco friendly!

I watch you for some time now and I was thinking many times "oh, she is having the same struggles as me, maybe she has ADHD too" 😂 I didn't expect other people thinking that too 😂 And autism and ADHD are having some in common, so I have autistic traits too. I am choosing my clothes by their softness way more than the looks and also cannot stand labels and stuff 😂
Btw, sometimes it's hard to diagnose those contidions if you doesn't suggest them to the doctor or go to the specialist in this field. I was treated for depression for many years, not very successfully, before someone recommended adhd and I went to the specialist in the field/condition, and they confirmed, and I am much happier now, less struggling all the time 😉 And I know why I "talk in weird way" in some people opinions 😂 Much love 🤍
Why does choosing your clothes for practically rather than looks indicate autism, seems sensible to me , I hate labels, cut them out and choose my clothes for softness, the material and so on, I don’t have autism . We don’t know Maddie, she is just chatty , I think we should be careful about diagnosing people that we’ve only seen for a few minutes on a video, and I’m not referring just to you, but to everyone that makes comments of this type. Presumably she been happy up until this point in the way she was, but it’s the comments that people have made, that has made her question herself. She seems like a normal bubbly, chatty person. Anyway as I said, how can we tell from a few minutes..
@@djaneab You're right about not diagnosing people, but she sometimes says in the videos about her struggles, so that probably is the answer to that, why other people and me thought about this. And I personally didn't want to say that there may be something wrong with her, bc being neurodivergent is not wrong in any way. Just replied to the video, because I also was suggested first time for adhd by the normal person, not the doctor 💁
@@mel90212m I can see you’re coming from a good place, but having struggles with anxiety, doesn’t necessarily lead to autism / adhd . And in its own right can sometimes give somebody more anxiety, because it may lead to start worrying about another issue. I’m just wary of those sort of comments. Especially as we only see a very small clip of her life.
@@djaneab sure, you're right, for friends and acquaintances it makes more sense to maybe say something than the person we actually don't know in real life, I sometimes cannot really imagine how much the content creators must get those kind of comments and how they manage not believing and worrying about all this stuff. Most of us want to help but sometimes it can make in worse I presume 😞

If you would like to look into it further, you can do the AQ50 (autistic quotient) self test online. After every one of my close friends had been verified over the last few years, I went through the 50 questions and masking questionnaire, and turns out I'm likely autistic too. I was diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year, and they have a high cooccurence. Getting the ADHD diagnosis has been invaluable, but I'm not interested in investigsting the ASD. It's just a personal preference :)
The kitchen is starting to look great and you looked lovely for your night out. What layers do you get put in your hair as my daughter has similar hair but needs layers to accentuate the curls but not sure what to ask for at the hairdressers?

I don't think you have Autism or ADHD. I Think you are very excited renovations are taking place but that in turn brings a lot of stress. Being happy and being stressed is a difficult combination for most of us to live with. I want to hear all the renovation details so please, chat on 😊
