this definitely has a Broadway musical sound to it. I picture a tenement on a summer's day. the singer sitting on a stoop, telling us the story. Plus, most definitely a late teen/early 20s guy's fantasy. Kind of like Summer of '42.
His sonorous voice is hard to beat. He just has a sense of conveying certain moods in the songs he sings. Whether it's melancholic or happy songs. Definitely an exceptional musician. There will never be another like him.
