Went to this museum in...June or July-ish last year on my military deployment. Super place to go! Everyone was done looking after like an hour, while I was still in like the first room there. I spent a good 6 hours over 2 days in there. As well, there's a little hobby shop close by that I bought a ton of Japanese naval models from there. Fun little fact, the Kure train station, any time a train enters, they play the song from Space Battleship Yamato. This place is a must go.
The last time I have seen this video was like 2 years ago. And now that I´m seeing it again, I´m proud to tell that I visited Kure and bought like 20 Yamato´s Ramunes a year ago.
Damn I want to go there. I plan to save up cash to go to Japan anyway but def need to stop by the naval museum. Also damn, those models are cool as hell.... Might have to look into collecting ship models as well :P

Highly recommend visiting Yokosuka and Mikasa if you get the chance to go back to Japan :) No experience like walking round an over 100 year old ship!
