I'm close to the end on my Vita and I agree...a Parasite Eve 1 & 2 remake combo would rock ( as in remake both games...I doubt Square Enix would do both in the same bundle a la Crash N-Sane or THPS1+2 ) EDIT: I have finally beaten the game since my original reply. Unfortunately I cannot physically play PE2 as I've never been able to do tank controls....so I want both games remade even MORE now
Vagrant Story is a masterpiece! The storytelling and localization stands up to the best of any game these days. Square Enix, please remake this fantastic, unique gem!!
Yes, the only wrong I seen is that all the place you need to go is within the small confines of the building. It would be better if you can run between buildings in an open air environment. Another is that the characters doesn't know what happened to Cooper.
Not me. I haven't been begging for a Dino Crisis remake. I would ask Capcom very politely for one no doubt but beg??? Dino Crisis is not exactly at the top of my list of classic games I want to see remade ASAP.

The Syphon Filter trilogy needs to have a remake. Also the first Medal of Honor games. There are just lots to choose. Also, this may not be a PS1 game, but Popful Mail has to be included to be remade as well, similar as how Trials of Mana was.

Syphon Filter really deserves a full fledged remake. I mean, Sony Bend is still alive and kicking and many original programmers from the PS1 era are still with the company.
Tenchu 1 & 2 Spiderman (2000) (I loved the more cookbook-style feel, before the films came out.) Toy Story Small Soldiers Spyro, but with the more realistic graphical and anesthetic style of Zelda: Twilight Princess
they treat Twin Snakes like crap ( it was a good remake ffs... ) but act like Chrono Cross is some amazing ignored masterpiece when a LOT of Chrono Trigger fans just didn't like the changes to gameplay...

I know it's not a PS1 game but seeing Omega Boost made me think of Zone of the Enders, a PS2 game that I think all of us here would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a remake of. Also, Syphon Filter was my favorite on PS1, Days Gone was actually based in the same universe
I know Tomb Raider got a remake in 2007, but you can’t even play it on a PS4 or 5, and another remake could be AMAZING if it took advantage of all the breakthroughs both the series and the industry have made as a whole since then, like RE2!

I completed Days Gone a few months back and something that caught my eye about it was a skin for your bike that has a Syphon Filter design. Hopefully that's a sign of something being in-store for this franchise. Legend of Dragoon is definitely up there for me too, I'd love to complete that game with a remake because my PS1 copy's final disc had a game-breaking bug that wouldn't let me reach the finale (got stuck in some desert-type area). I'd also love to see remakes of the first-two Driver games and the Twisted Metal series.
Appreciate the Syphon Filter love. Syphon Filter 2 was literally my favorite game growing up, and it's sad how many people forgot/never heard of it. Amazing series if brought back correctly.
Honestly i would prefer a Metal Gear remake based the first two games from the Msx system using the open-world mechanics from The Phantom Pain with Snake Eater's survival mechanics rather than another "Twin Snakes" disaster.
Metal Gear, Snake's Revenge, Metal Gear 2 and Metal Gear Ghost Babel can get the treatment as the final fantasy pixel remaster versions like how square enix did. See how it worked for final fantasy, so it can work the metal gear games. Fingers crossed!
I happen to agree. Dino Crisis was one of my favorite games growing up. I would absolutely love a remake. And I don't just mean a fan remake although that would be cool too I mean a legitimate Capcom remake.
Surprised Final Fantasy IX wasn't on this list. That game got me in to the series. Also another game not many people know about that deserves a remaster is Future Cop LAPD. For those who haven't played it, you need to try it. Another is Hogs of War. Definitely deserves more appreciation.

They already had a Metal Gear 1 remake. Metal Gear Solid twin snakes. It was for the Gamecube. It was actually really great. I feel it was underated however, 'cause I remember no one I knew had/played it. Maybe port it to current consoles?

Metal Gear Solid ready got a Remake on the Gamecube, it didn't change much besides adding graphical updates, minor voice changes and lines, non-leathal weapons from Metal Gear Solid 2 and stunt double actions in Cutscenes.
Azure Dreams. Roguelike, monster raiser, city builder, dating sim, this one tried to do it all. I think the first time I ever cried over a video game, was the scene where Cherrl, who's bedridden when you meet her, feels well enough to go for a walk.
Legend of Dragoon bro!! I was just 10 years old and only could finish it when I was in High School (10th grade). It was really an accomplishment!! I still enjoy relieving those memories.
I never had an original Playstation (I had a Nintendo 64), so I've only heard of the Top 3 games on this list....but watching this video, with those style graphics, took me back to the days of 1998 to 2000. Man, who's up for watching some anime on the Scifi Channel or for playing some GoldenEye?
Other games that need it are Dino Crisis 2 (with an extended ending that shows Regina rescuing the others via time travel; especially that way it's easier to ignore Dino Crisis 3), Armored Core: Master of Arena, Ape Escape, Xenogears (if they can bring back some of the original writers to finish up the second half of the game), Parasite Eve, Vampire Hunter D (completely rebuilt by Platinum), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (same goes for PC version), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (same for the PC version), Mega Man Legends 1&2, Toy Story 2, and Twisted Metal Series.
Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia, Guardian's Crusade, Gex Trilogy, Klonoa, Vandal Hearts, Mega Man Legends 1 and 2, Tobal no.1, Einhander, Wild Arms, Legend of Legaia, Jade Cacoon, and Clock Tower.

Destruction Derby was eons ahead of it's time. The damage model to go with one of my first 3D car games was epic! Even years following the scale of damage was not implemented until far superior hardware was available.
I am all for a Dino Crisis and Syphon Filter, but my number one remake wish is and always will be Parasite Eve. P.S. I totally forgot about Vagrant Story, I really dug that game. Great combat system.
Soul Reaver needs a remake following the style of GOW. For MGS, i suggest they may a remake of the SNES MGS games so we can replay the zanzibar land mission in full HD GLORY for dragoon, i suggest a prequel to the PS1 game. The story of dart’s father and rose fighting mebu frahma. I think that would be cooler. I really hope all the games on this list including the honorable mentions get a remake. And throw tomba and breath of fire in that mix. Revival of the PS1 games should be a thing while waiting for other next gen titles to develop. There isn’t much to play now.
Remakes for the sake of remakes. These games can still be played, and part of what makes them good is the tech they were made with. Why would anyone want to pay for a rushed graphical upgrade which abuses the original lore? The only PS1 game I can think of that needs a remake is Circuit Breakers. The best top-down, Micro Machines style racing game, that should be kept exactly the same but with added online, 8 player races.
I agree a Dino Crisis remake would be cool. I would also love a remake or continuation of the Colony Wars series. We don't have many Sci-Fi flyer-shooter games and it would look awesome on modern consoles
Twin Snakes is a great game, but the mechanics from MGS2 it uses feel pretty dated. MGS4's Shadow Moses chapter really blew it out of the water in this regard, and MGSV-style graphics and gameplay would go even further.

Final Fantasy VIII needs a remake with voices for select characters. Crawford Wilson for Seifer, Armando Valdes-Kennedy for Laguna, Ike Amedi for Kiros. Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub Zero, not sure if it should get a remake. Castlevania Symphony of the Night, make it 2.5D.

Parasite Eve, it was such a good survival horror rpg and with the engine they used on the ff7 remake(reboot if you ask me) it would look so amazing.

Tenchu should be remade by From Software. The original Tenchu was the same hard as nails, but fair philosophy that guides From Software games.

They already had a Metal Gear 1 remake. Metal Gear Solid twin snakes. It was for the Gamecube. It was actually really great. I feel it was underated however, 'cause I remember no one I knew had/played it. Maybe port it to current consoles?

Metal Gear Solid ready got a Remake on the Gamecube, it didn't change much besides adding graphical updates, minor voice changes and lines, non-leathal weapons from Metal Gear Solid 2 and stunt double actions in Cutscenes.
Outstanding list, and I know it's my personal (not to everyone's taste) I would drop Syphon Filter or Omega Boost for Brigandine: Legend of Forsena

I never had an original Playstation (I had a Nintendo 64), so I've only heard of the Top 3 games on this list....but watching this video, with those style graphics, took me back to the days of 1998 to 2000. Man, who's up for watching some anime on the Scifi Channel or for playing some GoldenEye?

Other games that need it are Dino Crisis 2 (with an extended ending that shows Regina rescuing the others via time travel; especially that way it's easier to ignore Dino Crisis 3), Armored Core: Master of Arena, Ape Escape, Xenogears (if they can bring back some of the original writers to finish up the second half of the game), Parasite Eve, Vampire Hunter D (completely rebuilt by Platinum), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (same goes for PC version), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (same for the PC version), Mega Man Legends 1&2, Toy Story 2, and Twisted Metal Series.
Tell me syphon filter 1, 2 and 3.... parasite Eve 1 and 2, Dino Crisis 1 and 2

Destruction Derby was eons ahead of it's time. The damage model to go with one of my first 3D car games was epic! Even years following the scale of damage was not implemented until far superior hardware was available.
I am all for a Dino Crisis and Syphon Filter, but my number one remake wish is and always will be Parasite Eve.
P.S. I totally forgot about Vagrant Story, I really dug that game. Great combat system.
Soul Reaver needs a remake following the style of GOW.
For MGS, i suggest they may a remake of the SNES MGS games so we can replay the zanzibar land mission in full HD GLORY
for dragoon, i suggest a prequel to the PS1 game. The story of dart’s father and rose fighting mebu frahma. I think that would be cooler.
I really hope all the games on this list including the honorable mentions get a remake. And throw tomba and breath of fire in that mix. Revival of the PS1 games should be a thing while waiting for other next gen titles to develop. There isn’t much to play now.
Remakes for the sake of remakes. These games can still be played, and part of what makes them good is the tech they were made with. Why would anyone want to pay for a rushed graphical upgrade which abuses the original lore?
The only PS1 game I can think of that needs a remake is Circuit Breakers. The best top-down, Micro Machines style racing game, that should be kept exactly the same but with added online, 8 player races.

I agree a Dino Crisis remake would be cool. I would also love a remake or continuation of the Colony Wars series. We don't have many Sci-Fi flyer-shooter games and it would look awesome on modern consoles

Twin Snakes is a great game, but the mechanics from MGS2 it uses feel pretty dated. MGS4's Shadow Moses chapter really blew it out of the water in this regard, and MGSV-style graphics and gameplay would go even further.

I would save all the money i have for a remake of Digimon Rumble Arena! I remember playing it on both PS1 and PS2, it was my first Digimon game!
I’d love it if Vagrant Story got an M-rated remake for PS5, with revamped real-time gameplay and more in-depth outfit customization that doesn’t necessarily affect character stats(like, you could have Ashley go shirtless, or dress him up like characters from Final Fantasy XII).
Monsters, Inc. Scream Team was my favourite PS1 game growing up and I'd love to be able to play it again as a remake on a different console.
