Maybe I sought it out, I don't know, but I don't think Dave was completely original or the only comic to mine this territory. He had a show that reached the most people, and he's a genius, so it all works. I don't know how ahead of his time he was, i think he was of his time, and still is. he stays current i'm sure you've heard or seen. I think many hip comedians can or at least could navigate racial waters without crashing the ship. I think it's part of what makes you relatable and funny is to not be a hater.
