What an incredible honor to find The Way of Edan here among such excellent stories! I’m grateful that you gave the book a shot at all, and the fact that you enjoyed it makes me happy. I look forward to your eventual thoughts on books two and three, Chance, and I wish you much fulfillment from your reading and writing in 2025.
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy thank you so much! Edan is calling my name back. A lure I wasn’t quite expecting either! Good luck in the new year-hope to chat more soon
Dude, I'm so honoured by the honourable mention!! Awesome video, and it sounds like you had a great year of reading. You completely inspired me to pick up Imperium. I'll be reading it very soon! You know I love seeing Hobb near the top there!
@@ZOMGfantasy imperium was a true shocker. And has such beautifully polished prose. And of course! Riven Earth really kept popping up for me when thinking about top reads this past year
Dude that's a killer list! You gotta keep reading after Imperium, that entire series is incredible, start to finish, I honestly thought it kept getting better with each book.
@@Chance.Dillon I think it's in the book, where Tiro says it, but watching a naturally timid man rise to put his life on the line and defend what is right, time and time again, and defend the Roman republic, is like the most heroic frickin thing I've ever read
@ I’m glad to hear it has helped! I just read Chapter 1 of “The Before” before going to bed and I loved it. Excited to continue and let you know what I think! Thanks for sending it!
@@TomOrange yeah! Ashes doesn’t get a lotta love. But to me to me it truly is a standout as to where Hadrian’s character ends up going. stoked to hear your thoughts when the time comes
Are you going to have someone line-edit your novel? At least with me, the line edit was the most important part which made my novel three times better.
@Chance.Dillon I would be curious at the end to how much this all cost you. My manuscript is only 80k. Three thousand dollars for everything for this project. I am pretty stubborn. My book cover is probably considered a bad one, but it stands out. It reminds me of a standard 1970's or 80's cover, kind of a beat looking cover. It cost me 300 dollars and I'm sure I could have gotten a more contemporary cover for less on Reedsy, but I don't like that stuff. Sometimes standing out from the rest can be good or bad. I am stuck with it now, anyways. Feeling bad about no Kindle Unlimited hits, where I had 500 page reads from a short story a year and a half ago with a Generic Kindle cover creator cover. A week after the news broke about Kindle Covers to be associated with AI, and the KU reads stopped. I was hoping to have a repeat of that, with a better Cover, Blurb, and everything. Nope. I never really expected this novel to do anything. I was excited by my editor's feedback. I am just waiting for it to get into some reviewer's hands. I can't wait to see what they think. What's impeding that is Ingram Spark. 23 days and still not printed yet. We will see how wise the decision was for me to debut the novel solely as a Hardback for a few months. Probably a decision about as dumb as me enjoying old-school cover styles.
