I’m not sure that you can. It’s a fragile art form.
Use elmers rubber cement. It worked for me

You get feathers on ebay?!...I could send you feathers 😂 we've got a bunch of stray chickens in our yard and I love collecting them, my Mom says one day the fowls will get tired of me taking their feathers 😂😂😂

is there a way to treat the feathers so they dont split from wear?
Not that I know of.
Even if you tried to seal them, they’re going to split apart eventually. I would think sooner rather than later too. Unfortunately, it would be wasted work.
