Thank you!! I'm a big fan of the Standard line, it's a bit cheaper but you still get full quality everything so much so I wound up keeping this guitar. Only model I'd point you away from is the Classic NX, they jacked up the price by $700 for what is only a pickup upgrade. They do have a cheaper version of the Classic NX out now too but that's still had a $200 price increase which is also too much IMO. Pretty crappy business practice if you ask me. Good luck!
Haven't noticed bad fretwork on my Boden metal nx 8. The jack has been solid so far but that's a real good point, those should not be cheap components for a 2k+ guitar. The holes around the screws in the back, mine has one small chipped area, similar to what yours looked like. The rest is pretty smooth, but not what I would call perfect. That's a little more forgivable of a thing for me, but it is a flaw. If I have a complaint about mine it's how the strings stick out from the head, even if you clip them there's still potential to scratch yourself. It isn't likely that will happen, it's possible to clip them pretty close. But still I wish they could come up with something to protect that area.. even like just something that clips on and off somehow? A minor complaint overall though, my own Boden is pretty near flawless. Mine's customized with Abasi Fishman Fluence in them. It's a beast of a guitar!
Haha no doubt, I've gotten poked a couple times and that does hurt crazy bad! The new NX nut is a big improvement over the old design. It's a single solid piece and is far more 'road worthy' than the old locking design. It's also got these little ramps around it so you can clip the strings and hide the sharp ends of the strings better. The NX was far more evolutionary than revolutionary in terms of upgrades but it's def better than the older generations in terms of hardware. Appreciate you checking out my Strandberg content...I've got a lot! lol Two new reviews are in the works now too, hope you'll stop on back when they come out.
Awesome video as always. I'm shocked you're not endorsed by Strandberg yet honestly lol. I think the only thing I don't like about the 6 string Strandberg is the neutral fret position
Hi David, thanks for stopping back and THANK YOU for the kind words! I think I'd shit myself if strandberg made me an artist lol Where do you prefer the neutral fret on a multiscale? I think Kiesel puts it in a different stop, and my vader can be a little tough to play in some lower spots on the neck, but that's just me and my tiny little hands I guess lol
@@aminorerror I typically like it closer to the 7th or 9th fret, personally. Sorry you keep getting flaws on your Strandberg. I haven't bought one in 2 years, but I've fortunately never had an issue with them. Also, you got a nice figuring on the back of the neck on that one. Looks gorgeous!
@@davidpeebles1858 interesting, I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I’m trying out some multi scale stuff! I’ve been more picky in recent reviews lately and holding all brands to higher standards, all in all I really like the standard line.
ESP makes a solid instrument, ESP/LTD aren't bad either. Got a new review coming on one of those too. Never heard of Hapas though, I'll have to check em out.
Great point! Idk why they go HH on the fixed bridge and then SSH on the tremolo model...that's the only one I'm aware of that's different like that. I just put out a new video today on things I'd love to see Strandberg change in their lineup and wish I can included that point on the Standard line, thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching, I've got about 15 stomp boxes in for review right now actually! I'll def add the Katana to my list of amps to check out, it would be a good one to shootout against the Spark 40 I reviewed last year too. Hello from Philadelphia, appreciate you watching my stuff!
Nice review, I'm looking to replace my Boden Classic Tremolo 6 chrome bridge and satels with a OEM Strandberg black bridge and satels. Would you know why this item isn't on their website parts list? (The actual Bridge) Also do you or someone you know who would be interested in selling a Strandberg black tremolo satels and bridge?
Thanks for watching! I think you'll need to contact Strandberg customer support to see if there's anything they can do to help you out sourcing a black bridge and hardware. I don't know anybody selling off hardware so going direct is prob your best bet. Rock on!
My Kiesel 2019 built also has bad fretwork. No sprouts but it was not levelled at all. I always knew something was wrong with the frets. I let it check at the luthier and I was right. Soon I will have it fixed. Maybe modern built Kiesels are better but I am pointing this out to make others aware that expensive guitars including Kiesels not always have great fretwork. I had an Ibanez from Indonesia that had better fretwork than my Kiesel.
Damn man that's so surprising and disappointing your Kiesel had rough fretwork! I'd say the quality of the fret level has been very good for all of the Strandberg's I've tested, just nasty fret sprout of some of them. I hope Kiesel get's that sorted out, I love what they offer especially for the price and the fact they're made right here in good ol' USA. Thanks again for stopping back n checking out my review, the support means a bunch. Rock on!
@@aminorerror Look, it is like this. Jeff Kiesel is a great sales man. He knows how to make people excited making is believe Kiesel has the best in the world to offer. People then buy his products. But the expectations are higher than the reality. At least in some ( I believe many) cases.
Hi Chris, I'm not familiar with the OS Limited models, but my Original OS is chambered. Two ways to find out for sure, tap the body and listen to the sound around the area above the bridge pickup and around the arm contour. and then around the pickup selector switch. If it's chambered you'll be able to tell by how the body resonants, it sounds hollow where it's chambered...because it is lol Even better way would be to reach out to Strandberg direct, I'm sure customer support will be able to help. Thanks for watching and giving the channel a sub, greatly appreciate your time and support!
I have nine kiesel Vader's and never had a problem with the jack had to tighten one or two . What are doing standing on the cable and yanking then out ?
Guitars are nice but production quality is appalling I had to return a prog nx 6. I believe with current quality level these need to be priced between £500-1000, definitely overpriced.
Thanks for watching, but I disagree. You're right the QC has been hit or miss on the Indo Strandy's, they've got great customer support and will make sure if you reach out that they get it right in the long run. Expecting a guitar with stainless steel frets and pro level hardware for under $1k is just not realistic and no company is offering that right now. Schecter is getting close with the new John Browne models but they're still over $1k.
going to stream the eff outta that album. great review too!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words! Greatly appreciate the support. Rock on!
Superb...!!! Now I'm really confused on which one I want to purchase🤔 Dude you freaking SHRED...!!!🤘💯🔥💥

wood does not matter. pickups matter.
