My Death Knight is a level 150 Pure Faith Lightning Character. I use Knight's Lightning Spear, the Death Knight Longhaft Axe, Death Knight Twin axes, and the full Death Knight armor set. Dragon Cult Incantations are the heart of this build - all about massive lightning burst damage.

Some notes on the build in case you wanted to try other variations of it:
This Faith Variation of the Dragon Cult lightning build is the one I think is most optimal for high burst in invasions while maintaining decent defense & utility from faith. Consider these other two options depending on your playtstyle:
1. Strength version: Go 54 Strength, and lower your faith if you want to be more melee focused. Use the Winged sword insignia, Millicent's prosthesis, and Shard of Alexander to pump up the damage of your death knight twin axes ash of war. The multi-hit damage will be crazy! This version of the build will have much less burst damage from incants, but your melee swings will hit harder.
2. Glass Cannon version: Go 80 Faith and use the Priestess Heart to Transform into the Dragon priestess. This gives you 20% increase Dragon cult damage instead of the 8% from the Death Knight set. The downside is you have to be naked to do this you will have no poise and very little defense. Since you're a glass cannon anyway, you can equip the Beloved Stardust talisman to maximize your cast speed without needing azur's staff or any dexterity investment. Add the Lightning Scorpion Charm to fully maximize damage. This build will ACTUALLY one shot anyone in the game, but you will die instantly in return. Use this at your own caution.

@@Archduketank7878 enjoy my friend! I did a few with the dragon priestess heart and the damage is nuts! You have to be very careful about everything though, you get insta bled and murdered by everything
I'm actually a high level. I currently have 60 vigor, 35 mind, 40 endurance, 40 strength, 40 dexterity, 80 intelligence, 86 faith, 20 arcane. Should I go full strength, dex and faith rather than faith and intelligence?
With the added intelligence I'm able to use sorceries that I feel are tied to Death Knight. Stuff like impenetrable thorns, ancient death rancor and vortex of putrescence.

The fight with the guy and his 6 phantoms/hunters was so entertaining 😂 satisfying seeing him finally fight for himself in the end
he put up a decent fight, it's rare that 3 phantoms and 3 hunters get killed in a single invasion

My favorite build now, absolutely trucking my way through NG++, was worried it wouldnt be enough but knights lightning spear is all in one
the lightning spear is so good! If you like, check out my video beating all bosses with this build, a couple of them just die in seconds to the lightning spears. The more aggro ones I had to use my weapons though
@@VonSchnitz definitely, dlc taught me more aggressive bosses have to be taken head on but the lightning stacks add up there too with death knight axes
@@SMLL-crowabsolutely the bosses want you to stay up in their faces. ive noticed so many attacks watching back gameplay that are clearly built to punish rolling away, on radahn and gaius particularly

Finally someone using stuff that’s actually balanced and interesting sick of the same builds being posted every 2 seconds
Just fyi, there's no reason to use Black Flame Protection anymore because it got nerfed in PvP to 15% physical dmg reduction, while still reducing your healing by 20% and it has an fp cost.
Boiled Crab is also 15% physical dmg reduction in PvP, and it doesn't reduce your healing or cost fp to use. It does last 10 seconds less.

This is most likely the best DLC build I have seen so far! Because it is not BROKEN. Most of videos around nowadays, of course they are interesting and entertaining but also they are OP AF. Personally I don't like using anything broken like dueling shields, swift slashes, one shot perfume bottles etc.. This build looks so fun! Awesome plays, awesome fights mate.

Sick stuff! Pretty much exactly what i went through the DLC with, only i didnt have a second gravel stone seal and i didnt think to use godfrey's icon.
Both definitely bring the power level to nuclear levels
Those twin axes ash is ridiculous
they're really good, and I'm not even optimized for them. stacking multi hit talismans and thorny cracked tear makes it even better

R2 on the long axe is great for turn n burns and mix-ups.
I love the greataxe so much, might do a vid on the strength 💪 version and just focus on that weapon

Yep! Covered that in my pinned comment. That's basically the glass cannon route to play a dragon cult build since you have to be naked, will do a separate video on that in the future
Definitely seems much more fun than using my tryhard invasion builds utilizing psgs and things like that but at a same time still isnt a redditor build so im actually gonna try this out.
I've had a lot of success just trying new stuff. The three builds I've put out videos for so far are all fantastic in PvP , including this one. I was pleasantly surprised how useful the Knight's lightning spear is in invasions, being able to just snipe OHKO someone off the bat is a godsend

can you try to do a dragon knight build? ive been trying to make a dragon incation build that mainly focuses into melee combat and the requirement for arcane and faith make it hard for me to figure out a build at lvl 150, would love to see you iteration of it!

I've not tried Messmer's orb yet, might do a pyromancer build soon and use it. I have had it used against me, it didn't go well for me 😂

do you think there is a way to fanagal a lightning infusion version of this build? Been trying to work with a dex/faith build but it's not easy lol
No, if you're staying at meta level it's either all faith or mainly dex and a bit of faith for buff, you won't be doing that kind of incant damage unless you focus on faith at meta levels
At level 125-150, no way. Not unless you want to be squishy AF. Just go 60 faith and use electrify armament or lightning grease if you want the lightning weapon effect. Or if you don't want to use incants, then go 60-80 dex

Not to be a stickler but I only caught the 60 faith info in regards to your stats. What were the rest? Did you only meet the Str/Dex requirements of each weapon? How much Mind and Endurance?

correct me if im wrong but the set only buff skills and incantations of the dragoncult in the capital. meaning only yellow lightning, not red lightning or blue lightning
Dragon cult refers to all lightning incantations. Google dragon cult incantations and you'll find the whole list on the wiki

the bolt of gransax skill is not buffed by this set btw
@@Fire.and.Forget interesting, I didn't consider that it would be buffed by the set but good to confirm it's not. I can do some testing and ensure it effects the spells

@@Archduketank7878 coded swords and cipher pata are always good for a high faith build. Otherwise you can infuse anything you want to sacred or flame art

Erdtree Seal is good option if you have over 60 Faith for incantations in general.
What’s the lighting incant called that strikes you and burst lightning around?
That's electroshock, I didn't mention it much in the video because I didn't pick it up until halfway through my play session and it seemed kind of disappointing 😕 it replaces black flame protection/barrier of gold which makes you much squishier and only pulses for like 60 damage

What were all the incans you memorized
I changed it up as I went, but the most important ones are lightning spear, knight's lightning spear, fortissax's lightning spear, ancient dragon lightning strike, whatever buffs you like (I keep around golden vow, black flame protection, and barrier of gold), and a heal spell like heal from afar or erdtree heal.
No idea why lightning is so overpowered in this game but holy is whack
Depends on the circumstance, holy has some powerful options too. Coded swords, prayerful strike, sacred blade, wrath of gold are all strong holy tools that come to mind

I'm a noob at PVP but isn't the poise a little low? from what I've seen most builds use a breakcap of 50ish is there a reason this is lower? Again, I'm new to PVP so asking incase theres something I've missed haha
Yeah usually u go for above 51 poise. But I guess he wanted the full death knight cosplay so he used the full armour set. If he wanted more poise he could swap out a piece for a higher poise piece.

@@kurtcobane1762 yep just wanted to stick with the theme. Also, poise seems less useful now, generally speaking. Many poise breakpoints were just adjusted in the last patch so waiting to see how that settles and gets readjusted. More fun to use offensive talismans meanwhile rather than equip load and bullgoat talismans.

@@kurtcobane1762 it'll be a small disadvantage against certain weapons only. Most weapons automatically break poise on the first hit. Some light weapons like rapiers or claws can be poised on the first hit if you stack enough. The notable poise breakpoint is 88 to tank the second hit of things like katanas, curved swords, straight swords, etc. if you play with less than this, all you have to do is not mash out of hitstun vs these weapons and understand that you need to roll away if they hit you first. That's all
whats the other tear in your physic?
You have a lot of good options, but I was mainly using the heal when at low HP

some spell should get hyper armor :sadge: they are so cool but completly usseles in pvp
Fortissax's lightning spear gets hyper armor once you're airborne, got some gnarly OHKO's with it

Hey appreciate the feedback, the intro is edited to be concise and cover the build before jumping into the actual PvP content. I kind of prefer watching gameplay over explanation myself so that's why I structured it that way. Would a slower paced build breakdown be preferable?

What's so cringe about using base game weapon? I know people who still use and enjoy using base game weapon despite them finishing the dlc and have all the new weapon. Let people enjoy the game however they want.
