Dang, I thought this was all taken in one day and I was like WHAT THE HECK? I've never seen this many falls in refusals at one show.. Then I saw that it was over a 6 month period :) Great video, and that farm is beautiful.
I'm in there at 2:58. I'm so excited! I finally got to see my fall! You know you're a horse person when things like overseeding, new, pretty green square bales, and seeing yourself fall on film make you ecstatically happy. =D
i'vfe recently snapped my ankle due to a horse fall. 17.3hh irish draught bronked in the middle of a busy road, lost her balance and we both went down and then as she got up she stood on my ankle-snapping it and knocking me out as she galloped off. i'm on crutches for 12 weeks and have had 2 operations. i just wana say well done to all riders who get back on after a fall! great video x
Watching these types of videos reminds me how dangerous ridding can be and so reminds me that I need to remain careful and observant to my surrounding when I'm out ridding.
It happens to the best of us. You learn to dust yourself off, grab your horse, and get back in the saddle as soon as you can. We all have those days where everything goes wrong, wether it be in training or on a showday. If you are nervous, odds are your horse will be too. So take a deep breath, do some yoga or meditate or listen to your favourite music and calm your nerves. Singing along to your fave song (even if it is off key) can help to relax both you and your horse.
Goodness, these videos make me realise what a good boy my so much loved and missed horse was. Sure, he would refuse a jump (usually my fault), but he never freaked out like some of these horses did. I thank God that I had the privilege of owning him for 25 years, and I miss him every day.
The only reason why most horses kept stopping At the grey and white jump poles was because horses have trouble seeing the difference between grey and green. So therefore that type of jump colored poles shouldn't be allowed for it may cause injury to both rider And horse
Whew, a few of those were pretty scary for the horse and rider. I know sometimes it can't be helped, but I've managed to never let go of the horse when I fall.
You're actually suppose to let go of the horse. It's far better than being dragged by them and potentially trampled. So I don't really know what your comment is suppose to prove? That they are smarter and safer riders than you?
doesn't prove anything, was just saying. don't have to get all fancy on me. I do not compete, or ride for anyone else but myself. The RARE times I have fallen off my horse, he has never dragged me. He always comes to a complete stop. One time I was trail riding by myself (cause I have no firends that have horses) and I fell off and on this occasion I did let go of him (by choice while falling off I decided it was better to let go) and my boy still stayed with me. He did not run away. So I guess it does prove something, me and my horse has a much better relationship. He would never leave me.
It proves you know nothing about horses. They are flight animals when they become spooked they run away from danger, it's a survival method. You'll also find that most of the time the horse does return to the owner, you just don't see it in these clips. Falling off doesn't make you a bad rider they are clearly doing more technical things then just pony rides. If your horse never spooks when you fall it's because of your own error, so your probably a worse rider. You have no idea about their relationship with their horse, the fact they are willing to do what is being asked by their owners shows deep trust and respect.
Phew your life must be miserable to be bothering other people. I would be sorry to be you. you don't even know who I am, I am a horse trainer. been around horses my whole life, read countless books on behavior and training. I think you ought to mind your own business and throw your little pity party somewhere else with someone else. Besides it's just a comment, why do people like you have to get all hot and bothered by such little things. Bet you sit all day long and hunt for comments and people (who have a life) to torment. Bet your a pain to be around. Why don't you close the laptop and go out and enjoy nature, try to enjoy life instead of sitting around being a sour puss and spoiling everyone else's day.
visvita11 although I have found our conversation very interesting, I have a life and don't have time for rude people like you. So I'm going to mute this. Have a nice life.
Thanks [:. We go thorugh a lot and to keep riding after who knows how many falls is amazing. Falling's apart of learning cuz if you do fall in a show you'll know not to hang on and just let go. I fell three weekd ago and i was like "nothing i can do" so i just let myself hit the ground. its better than strugling and then falling. it hurts falling, but in the end, its worth getting back on [;
This just goes to show you what kind of risk you are taking when you ride horses. They are powerful animals but in the right hands they can be made into something beautiful and graceful. I am not shunning horse back riding, I love it to death (I think I would die without riding horses) and like crashcourse68 says, I swear if anyone says horse back riding isn't a sport. These are great clips, gorgeous horses and great riders. Grats to the riders who stayed on, sympathy for those who took a tumble
awesome video! great music, good quality clips, nice mix of falls and wicked jumps, beautiful facilities and horses! well done! my favourite "falls" video to date! :)
I love when a horse stops in front of a jump and they just walk away like, "Nope." My horse has done it a couple times, always scares me when I'm riding xD
@WOLFProductionsGA Thanks! I may have to try that (the spray) I'm normally pretty good about smooth shots if they are close it's just when they get far away (like in cross country) that the clips come back unusable XP
my newest horse Snowy is trained as a shower jumper up to 1.8 metres and competing in events like this he usually runs when i fall, but at home he stays. the environment can influence this as they may spook, or it may be just because they're in the open.
i wish my barn had a cross-country course =S we're clearing a trail through the woods, so it could possibly have jumps some day, but still... great video btw!
That's so sad :( But just before anyone says anything, some horses really can't jump, but many are designed for it. Some horses were bred just so that their build is perfect for jumping. Many of those horses developed into a breed of its own. (this is just for those who think jumping damages horses build, not for you ;) )
You never realize how strong a horse's neck is until you're hanging on it haha props to these riders for getting back up and not beating the crap out of their horses. That's a good rider.
about a month ago I was riding and the horse tripped and fell on my leg! I was ok though, I just got kinda scared but got back on and rode some more. no one was hurt thankfully!
@RoguePhoenix6 I dont really know , it looks like the horse tripped or slipped and tried to jump all at the same time :s And yeah I said ouch for all of em too lol . That one just stood out for me the way the poor girl flew :l
hi. i agree with your comment. i have a bond with a OTTB named Francis. i fell off him today and he still ran off at a gallop so did the fall hurt my bond with him? i patted him when i fell off though to let him know i wasnt going to hurt him but he still ran off.
WOW! that must really hurt. i bet that horse was feeling really free :-) hope every1 was okay. i was thrown of a horse 3 times and i know how much it hurts!!
i watch these but i really cant remmends me too much of when i fell of and almost broke my leg because i got stood on twice one front hoof (the horse had shoes on too) on my leg and one on my shoulder without shoes still have scares from 4yrs ago
yeah it's amazing the falls we have to take, i came of my ex- racehorse the other day and fractured my tailbone, i the doctor doesn't want me to ride for awhile but i got on yesterday and kept going, it hurt a little bit but ill see how it goes.
Oh I love to one with the little dog chasing the horse like really are you that dumb to let your dog off leash at a show not only could of the horse and ride got hurt but the dog to my old horse would have stopped and killed that dog he HATED little dogs ppl need to use common sense
My last show I did awful because I saw three horses slip and fall down in the ring before my turn and my trainer said it was because they were unbalanced riders and their horses were undermucled in the most important places, and even though my horse is fit and naturally balanced it scared me because I didn't want her to slip on the slushy overwatered footing and get hurt, so when I overshot my turn to my last line, I didn't want to push her in a tight turn to the fence late and have her slip.
@WildStarPro I agree when I ride some times i will just jump off or "fall off" at the walk or fast trot and so far it has worked they stop and i reward them and its been proven at a show when i fell jumping my pony just backed up like 2 steps stopped and waited
Its strange, why do all these horses run away from there rider. My horse comes over to me and nuzzles my face and if i lay there he goes and trys to get help because i tried that as a experiment, when i fell off, he moved away so he wouldnt step on me. i love him so much! My little benny.
+rosepetal Depends. Some horses are trained to stand when you fall. They might have gotten spooked when the rider came off, the environment, ect. It can be a number of things. There is one horse where I ride for example when you pop off he runs, but that's just because he likes running. Hope this helps.
Some of these, I imagine, are not these rider's horses. Probably riding for a stable and switching horses constantly, the horses have no emotional connection with them.

Coming off only makes you that better of a rider tho. Sure made me one.. I remember when I didn't have one lesson at Pony club on the XC where I didnt come off. Or in the ring. And jumping and XC are still my favorites.
@schmickers03 That's a good point. They do end up stopping anyway. I would hope my horse would just think it's another annoying barn dog and ignore it. I suppose it's part of being an event horse!
I completely agree! I was crushed by a horse that fell backwards on me the other day at the beach.. but i just got straight back on and carried on. We have to be tough! If we were weak we wouldnt get past the first ride! :)

This is my absolute favorite video on RUclips! It made me get crazy goosebumps the first time i watched it.

you put this together awesomely. i really like this video, and i like the song a lot. good job :D

u really are amazing at filming, ur footage looks like a pros :o
gr8 job on the vid, seriously u did awsome
This is a nice video. Shows that all riders fall. Those are some nice riders and horses. Enjoyed watching this.
Best horse falls vid yet
I love watching these. I really shouldn't because I ride but I love watching them lol
Love the video and filming, especially the guy at the end!
TBS Please - love throwing the arms up in victory after the fall. FANTASTIC. :-D
The only reason why most horses kept stopping At the grey and white jump poles was because horses have trouble seeing the difference between grey and green. So therefore that type of jump colored poles shouldn't be allowed for it may cause injury to both rider And horse
haha, the end made me LOL!! good video. i really like what you did with the beggining. *have a safe ride* bunch of falls :P
wow amazing vid. the quality the music everything!! 5 stars**

don't you love the days when you're perky and your horse is like, "This is my self-determined day off, you go jump them yourself?"
This video gives me chills but makes me want to ride even more and to succeed. Awesome cross country course
This is a great video, I whatch it all the time. Great done! :D
I like how you have both bad times and good times here
aww that little tiny grey pony at the beginning is SOO CUTE
I love when a horse stops in front of a jump and they just walk away like, "Nope."
My horse has done it a couple times, always scares me when I'm riding xD
@WOLFProductionsGA
Thanks!
I may have to try that (the spray)

+ally2789 Show jumping only goes up to 1.6m...
+megan proffitt he's a show jumper, but he can jump up to 1.8m
after I watch these videos, I' always a bit shaken up on my next lesson. I keep watching them though!
i wish my barn had a cross-country course =S
we're clearing a trail through the woods, so it could possibly have jumps some day, but still...
great video btw!
Love the song! Thanks sis :)
haha horse at 0:31--- "I don't need a rider to finish this course! They were just slowing my down!"
i love this video! the song and footage go great together...what was wrong with the jump at 0:40?
the dapple gray pony at 0:25 looks and behaves exactly like one i know!! looks a bit smaller than the one i know though
Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense.
That's so sad :( But just before anyone says anything, some horses really can't jump, but many are designed for it. Some horses were bred just so that their build is perfect for jumping. Many of those horses developed into a breed of its own. (this is just for those who think jumping damages horses build, not for you ;) )
When the Appaloosa fell I was like OMGOSH IS THE HORSE OK xD
hahahhaa I love how all the horse are failing on the same jump at 0:35
Great video! HOPE EVERYONE'S OK
You never realize how strong a horse's neck is until you're hanging on it haha props to these riders for getting back up and not beating the crap out of their horses. That's a good rider.
Love it when horses stop halfway over a fence (
about a month ago I was riding and the horse tripped and fell on my leg! I was ok though, I just got kinda scared but got back on and rode some more. no one was hurt thankfully!
@Horsestar100 Make me Scream by iRival. Can be found on iTunes
in 2:28 did that girl hit the jump with her mouth or something because im scared that i will fall of and knock my teeth out on a jump. GREAT VIDEO
@RoguePhoenix6 I dont really know , it looks like the horse tripped or slipped and tried to jump all at the same time :s And yeah I said ouch for all of em too lol . That one just stood out for me the way the poor girl flew :l
OMG! i watched that one! it was awsome keep it up! and no it was not to long to watch!
hi. i agree with your comment. i have a bond with a OTTB named Francis. i fell off him today and he still ran off at a gallop so did the fall hurt my bond with him? i patted him when i fell off though to let him know i wasnt going to hurt him but he still ran off.
OOO! The fall at 1:56 was bad! I feel sooooooooooooooo BAD for the rider! Poor gurl! Hope she wasnt hurt!
AWSUM AWSUM VIDEO... it always amazes me how fast horses can stop when THEY want to lol
WOW! that must really hurt. i bet that horse was feeling really free :-) hope every1 was okay. i was thrown of a horse 3 times and i know how much it hurts!!
At 1:20 would you know if the horses name is Permesso?
P.S. AWESOME VIDEO. All of ya'lls videos are great!!!
i watch these but i really cant remmends me too much of when i fell of and almost broke my leg because i got stood on twice one front hoof (the horse had shoes on too) on my leg and one on my shoulder without shoes still have scares from 4yrs ago
yeah! 1:59 was freikin scarry!!!! but it goes soo PERFECT with the music.
@Jukinakalpy Make me scream by iRival. Can be bought on iTunes
I love my horse so much!! Because as soon as I fall off he stops and doesn't canter away!!
That fall at 2 mins reminds me of one I had about a year ago. The impact was all on my left should though. Not on my head.
I hope the riders that got hurt are okay and r still able to ride
@louielover96 I just said ow everytime. Yeah hopefully she is. And what did the horse do? Trip but tried to recover by jumping? I don't know. Anyone?
One of the best "horse fall" videos I've seen, put together very nicely. do you personally go out to these places and record? awesome job :d
@boysrhoterthanu Make Me Scream by I Rival. Can be found on ituens
yeah it's amazing the falls we have to take, i came of my ex- racehorse the other day and fractured my tailbone, i the doctor doesn't want me to ride for awhile but i got on yesterday and kept going, it hurt a little bit but ill see how it goes.
I'm surprised by how barely any horse stayed near his rider after the fall. My horse never ran away, but stood instead.
Oh I love to one with the little dog chasing the horse like really are you that dumb to let your dog off leash at a show not only could of the horse and ride got hurt but the dog to my old horse would have stopped and killed that dog he HATED little dogs ppl need to use common sense
i was at a show where one of the horses when through a standard. both were ok, just interesting jump
0:29 : great dismount!! lol
GREAT video
1:00 you could see that coming, because her arms where flopping and she wasn't in her 2 point position. ^_^
0:35-0:48 i think the jump was spooking the horses. sooo many refusals for that one jump
Wow, what an amazingly honest horse at 0.49. I thought that'd turn out alot worse.
@WildStarPro I agree when I ride some times i will just jump off or "fall off" at the walk or fast trot and so far it has worked they stop and i reward them and its been proven at a show when i fell jumping my pony just backed up like 2 steps stopped and waited
AWESOME VIDEO.
cool. which one are you guys? like tell me what part of the video i am curious. hope to be at that level some day!
the horse is so beautiful
My friend had a pinto and she Is one of the best show jumpers at the yard.
I LOVE THIS VID!!!
He tried to add a stride that the rider had not seen. See pushed for a long spot, and the horse was more comfortable with going to a deep spot!
Its strange, why do all these horses run away from there rider. My horse comes over to me and nuzzles my face and if i lay there he goes and trys to get help because i tried that as a experiment, when i fell off, he moved away so he wouldnt step on me. i love him so much! My little benny.

Yeah my horse will stand by me even when I fell off in a massive open field and even on the road.
Some of these, I imagine, are not these rider's horses. Probably riding for a stable and switching horses constantly, the horses have no emotional connection with them.

Kudos to both rider and horse at 2:35
The look on her face at 1:17...I feel for her, probably the same look I had on my face after my horse fell on me at a show.
@schmickers03 That's a good point. They do end up stopping anyway. I would hope my horse would just think it's another annoying barn dog and ignore it. I suppose it's part of being an event horse!
at 1:59. was scary i remember that. it looked like the horse stepped in a hole or something. i love the video best ever.
i've looked like ALL of these at one time or another!! LOL
i fell off yesterday and got a blood nose and a concusion! man o man it hurt!
I completely agree! I was crushed by a horse that fell backwards on me the other day at the beach.. but i just got straight back on and carried on. We have to be tough! If we were weak we wouldnt get past the first ride! :)
that one rider on the grey had her hands way up, I don't know what happened and all or if she lost control earlier but I'm just saying this because this is what I saw...
Her hands were too high that's probably why the horse wiped.
aww this li9l grey pony at start is soooooooooooooooooo cute!
Great song, great vid :D
@hannahblackwolf14 Hey! Just wanted to say very well written and I completely agree with you!
I doesn't fall of my horse very often but sometimes things goes wrong and I get thrown of, and I am consider a good rider by my trainer and people around me but still, sometimes things goes wrong and that happens when you sit on a live animal that will bolt when its sense "danger".
mmm I see where you are coming from but some people (a bit like me) love this sort of thing :). (not falling off of course just the adrenaline)
you do in some shows depending where you live you can keep going but you would usually be disqualified.
the fall at 2 mins reminds me of a bad fall i had. i broke some ribs and got a bad concussion.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO
very professional :)
LUV THE VIDEO!
That jump at 0:40 really was getting stumping up some horses!
And yes, PLEASE keep dogs on leash!
