Large Right Whale Surface Active Group

Researchers from the New England Aquarium document a large surface active group (SAG) on Roseway Basin in 2006.
To protect this species, it is ILLEGAL to approach a North Atlantic Right Whale within 500 yards in U.S. waters and 400 meters in Canadian waters without a scientific permit. The New England Aquarium Right Whale Research Team operates under scientific permits in US and Canadian waters: this footage was collected legally. Please report all right whale sightings from Virginia to Maine to 866-755-6622, and from Florida to North Carolina to 877-WHALE-HELP. Right whale sightings in any location may also be reported to the U.S. Coast Guard via channel 16 or through the WhaleAlert app (available through Apple Store and Google Play).
