Inspirational video Kim! Thank you for all your excellent videos - they are so concise and jam packed with clear information. I, for one, really appreciate your no-nonsense style of teaching😊😌

I love these ideas- I think this looks more artistic than the ones where one follows the 'rules.'

Hello! I hope you had a fabulous Friday! I was in my sewing room all day dealing with a donation of scrap fabric because I sew Charity quilts. I hope you have an amazing week ahead! Thank you for your talent, time and your happy personality!

Thanks for sharing different versions of free motion. I’m just venturing into that part of quilting, along with experimenting with ruler work. Again thanks👍❤️😊

Thank you for this video. Itnever made sense to me that I should not cross lines. I do all the time.

Your stitching is so consistent. Does your Janome have a stitch regulator?

Nope. I set my speed control to a comfortable pace and then press my foot pedal all the way down and away I go!

I like the crossing, it looks 2 dimensional 2 me.

I don't believe in quilt police and always following the "rules"! You can create so many interesting free motion quilting designs by breaking the rules and crossing your quilting lines. Browse my channel for more videos on free motion quilting designs - where I don't break the rules 😉

What is the gadget called that you are using to hold/push your quilt?

Those are Martelli palm quilting paddles. I love using these rather than gloves as they have a no-slip fabric on the bottom that "sticks" to the quilt sandwich - so helpful when free motion quilting. You can find out details by going to bit.ly/martellicode and searching for "palm quilting paddle set". I am a Martelli affiliate so will receive a small amount of compensation if you order through this link.

You will love any and all Martelli products for quilting. Accuracy becomes so much easier.

AFTER updating my M7 to 2.0 firmware, the icon for free motion quilting is no longer available! what happened? I used your excellent video to learn how to access the free motion quilting, but after updating the machine it's no longer there! do you have any ideas

What needle plate do you have installed? Make sure you have the straight stitch plate or the regular plate installed and not the HP plate and see if you then have access to free motion quilting.

Thank you 😊 I always feel intimidated when it comes to FMQ. I love doing the loopy meander as it lets me enjoy the creative process. I will have to try your suggestions!!!! Have a fabulous weekend!! ☀️🧵 🪡
