I gotta say this!: I absolutely LOVE Sabat holding Vegeta down! He has given me and us some absolutely dynamic, Super Saiyan, zenkai boosts sensational dialogue over the years. But I have to say - I am convinced. Utterly convinced of the reason why we love this show so blasted much. It is because of the Ocean Dub of DBZ! Yeah it has some hiccups dealing with voice changes and all, but even then the voices didn't rob the excitement and intensity and poetic drama that it was setting. Drummond. Young and the original Recoome and Ginyu gave this Ocean version something so special. Far special than many fans fail to either realize or acknowledge. Just listen to Drummond's delivery. Hear how the music plays to every scene. See the energy the Ginyu Force gives off and listen... just listen to Pauline Newstone's version and delivery of Frieza. Can you imagine what Super would be had they allowed Purple Vegeta to remain? Can you understand the change Frost might have played out with that voice? That voice doesn't run away. Such a being with that level of menacing voice does not hide in fear against beings like Hit. This voice doesn't allow for any misunderstanding. When she speaks for Frieza, he is absolutely menacing, terrifying and more! If she is still with us, have her speak the Resurrection F scene of Frieza learning of Goku's strength against Buu and Beerus. Tell me they shouldn't get her back!?
I love the Funimation cast and have grown more used to them, but the Ocean dub cast will always be my favorites because they're the voices of my childhood.

Funimation folks would have to fly out to Canada for every episode recording and once networks asked for more episodes to be dubbed, Funi execs decided to cut costs and do it in-house instead of having to fly out to Canada.

I think maybe the reason I prefer this dub is also because many of the voice actors did other anime shows I grew up watching and while I like dbz I did like those ones more but really like these voice actors especially for captain Ginyu. His voice actor did s great job in one of my favorite video games Kessen.
I said Vegeta was possibly the most evil in this saga, and in the flashback he's shown to be even very mean. He made me feel sorry for the poor Guldo, he knows to be weak but tries to challenge stronger guys who aren't afraid of him. However Guldo must be really weak in power, Vegeta was in disadvantage with Recoome after gaining many power but there, before he is already not scared of him.

Always preferred Ginyu's ocean voice to his Funimation voice. He's more of a leader here where as Funimation he sounded like a typical thug.
