I met the big fella in my senior year of high school in 2005 and got him to sign my exercise book. I'll never forget that day.

Unfortunately for me I`m a NSW supporter but can't deny how good the QL team was in these days. Meninga, Lewis, Langer, Renouf, Hancock and Carn were just so painfully unbeatable. Same with Smith, Cronk, Lockyer, Slater, Inglis. Not sure if I hate to love them or love to hate them. The reason I`m such a sad NSW supporter.

You should be a happy one now... and for a few years to come I think.

@@elrey8876 Thanks mate. Yes I am happy. I really thought NSW were going to lose Game 3 this year with QL`s second half come back. Fortunately James Tedesco scored that last minute try. Finally some wins coming our way!

If Wally was the King, Meninga was the Prime Minister and how good was Bobby Lindner in those days?

The young’ns today have no idea how good Big Mal was...GI could be as devastating, but Mal was devastating more often.

    Meet Mal on 1992
    Australia vs PNG
After the game we got behind the locker rooms and got to meet the whole team as they got on the bus
Mal was the only one to stop and talk to is kids
The rest I remember being dickheads
Ever since 1992 Mal's been my hero

Great Origin player until McGaw intimidated him out of running the ball hard.

@@seankiely975 There was not a single highlight showing Meninga breaking a McGaw tackle. Meninga loved to play against Steve Ella and Paul McGregor. However McGaw had the combination of upper body strength, speed and aggression to nullify Meninga, Meninga was actually psyched out by McGaw and used to slow down or pause when he saw McGaw coming at him in defence, On the other hand, McGaw scored or setup several game winning tries against QLD with Meninga in the side. Meninga was the better overall player but one on one could not get over the top of McGaw.
