We wanted to give a quick update and let you know what we’ve been up to.
I usually don’t get personal on social media, but I wanted to take the time to explain our absence and acknowledge Johnathan and how he’s gone above and beyond to not only keep BostonCollectors going but also our lives without my help… all while starting a new job.
Over the last few months, we lost my father and I also unexpectedly just spent time in the hospital. As we slowly move away from the those events we want to dive back into what we love, but our lives are a bit busier.
With all that being said, stay tuned for more content and let us know what you all would like see next!

Great review! Keep it up. I might be in the minority here, but I love the clean design! I do agree Hot Toys should include more hands and sets. I don't like it especially when we do not get two fist hands. Other than that this is my favorite Luke from Hot Toys. But I'm really bias since ESB is my favorite Star Wars.
I actually do like the clean design, but maybe it’s going hand-in-hand with the bulkiness of the midsection. It’s so prominent and filled out it draws attention to it without having shadows to “hide” not having weathering. I’m 50/50 on it, but I do like the cleaner look.
Yeah, the hands are a huge thing for me and if they’re sloppy it definitely effects the rating. Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks that.
Great piece though, especially for collectors like you who love Empire Strikes Back! 😄🔥

Even with the slight issues (body is a little bulky, no USB lightsaber etc) I love this release.
My favourite film in the saga and my favourite appearance from Luke.
Now we just need that damn Bespin Han 😅

It's extremely tough to say this was a poor release for sure. If anyone were to say that, they aren't being fair. There are downsides, but Hot Toys managed to skate the line with giving just enough oomph to where we cant say it was a bad release.
Bespin Han hopefully soonish, I'm shocked he was never announced for the 40th, to be honest. 😨
Feels good to be back. We literally have a pile of figures stacked up in the hallway and it's daunting to walk by them, lol! BUT... They're on the way. 🙏🍻

I definitely agree about the hand gestures, it should’ve come with relaxed hands and I don’t know why it took them so long to come up with USB lightsabers? We’re in 2023 that should have been done years ago.
It being 2023 and we’re still scattering hands is a negative too. It’s almost like they throw dice with hand selections on them and go with what the dice say.
I have low expectations for the USB sabers. I think CCFLs will always be king because of what’s used, but I agree. Sure is taking a while, lol!

Wow that intro!! Just sensational BC!! Regarding the lack of relaxed hands I wonder if Hot Toys are looking at ways to reduce cost and assumed that collectors don’t bother with the relaxed hands that most figures have pre-installed out of the box. However a lot of my figures in museum pose usually utilise a weapon holding hand and a relaxed hand! So with this figure my preferences would have been a relaxed left hand! But yeah overall it’s a stunning figure, and agreed the headsculpt is superb. Thanks for video! 😀👍🏻

Does it cost that much to reprint molds used through other figures? I know there’s cost, but I’m wondering how much more. For uniquely designed figures I can imagine it’s more, but a lot of these hands are easily made and shared between multiple releases old and new.
A lot of my figures are posed the same way as yours, but it’s tough when some of them are equally as limited and need to be posed differently for me. If it works for you for the most part, I’m happy for you though! 🔥🙌🏼

@@BostonCollectors yeah it’s an odd one. I’m sure a company like Hot Toys doesn’t need to scrimp and cut corners, and like you say to push out a relaxed hand from an existing mold is hardly going to make the figure less profitable. Soo yeah, curious decision! But at least it means we have to utilise other stuff we may not normally use! So I’m making a positive out of it and yeah, he sure does look cool 👌🏻 😎 looking forward to your Fennec Shand video now!

Always top notch videos! You're right about hand selection. Having many options (and proper ones) can help convey a pose just by the gesture. When you take those options away, you also take away or hinder certain subtle, key elements needed to portray motion or EMOTION in a pose. Glad to see you guys back in the game!

That’s exactly what I mean. It’s already a little tough because of the expression to pose, but to restrict us further with the hand selection makes it worse. Hopefully they come around.

Super clean Luke Skywalker, from the Alternate Universe Star Wars. 😄 Using the waist clamp on the leg is a pretty good solution. I like the light up base better, but hate that nameplate - I don't need nameplates to tell me what figures in my own collection are.

I do wish the nameplate for the base was removable like the other basic versions. Sucks, because I’d like to get a few more for other characters who’ll also be Luke variants. 🗿

If you see closely, the actual figure’s costume especially the pockets are less detail compared to the one printed on the cardboards.
Yeah, the master copy will always be far better than what’s mass produced. It’s unfortunate, but I’ve come to accept it as part of the process.
Luke’s blaster is totally wrong it is modelled on the Denix and should be a real c96 Mauser.

Dose this hand's lightsaber change the position?
If the hand holding the lightsaber is in the initial position, it is not possible to have both hands holding the lightsaber.
However, hand is connected lightsaber.
