@@JeromeJ-vf6pbI would much rather you reply something about ops comment then Talk about the bots Anyways yeah youtube is better on that, even if it's 2 ads they're still like 10-15 seconds long Sometimes a minute but those are skippable
As a grown man with a career and little downtime, I'm not watching anything on twitch. No pausing, ridiculously long ads, and for some reason the video quality is always trash on my devices
Ikr! I watch content on my phone, and twitch UI/quality is AWFUL. I would much rather have the ability to watch on RUclips. I’m fine with multi streaming. I just don’t want to deal with twitch. At all.
I checked out a Twitch stream recently and was hit with an unskippable 3-minute block of ads. Don't know about content creators, but I'm sticking with RUclips streams.
As a die hard maximilian dood fan, i clicked on a stream of him playing a videogame i loved. Then saw i needed to watch like 15 ads to start watching. Closed it right away.
you can go back in a live stream if you go on their channel then past broadcasts and for some reason the live stream is there and you can go to the start
You can only rewind streams that allow it and MOST streamers disable that because it causes MASSSSSSSSIVEEE issues with buffering. If you're ever watching a stream that keeps having weird issues, 99.999999999999% of the time it is because of this.
Ludwig did describe it best for which viewers prefer which platform. The Chatters will prefer Twitch because of the culture there, while the lurkers who just want to be in the background watching the stream prefer RUclips because it has the best player.
@@gabycashy5 true but besides the point, you have to go and download add-ons which will need to be updated every few weeks due to twitch adblocking patching, the fact the user needs additional programs to make twitch bearable shows how out of touch twitch actually is
Lurkers are the silent majority. When I'm watching something, I don't care about chatters and don't even open chat, and therefore I vastly prefer RUclips because of its player, the ability to pause/rewind/2x.
You’re right, but you also sound like an adult. Twitch is catering to parasocial kids who waste hours watching e-girls cosplay rather than living their own life. RUclips is just for normal casual people. Like us.
Twitch might be good for streamers, but bad for watchers. I am pushed away from twitch each time I use it. Terrible ads, no pause or rewind functions, subpar search features
@@TauEnjoyeridk about pc but twitch mobile is a nightmare to use and I don’t own a pc or laptop. You can’t even sub with prime on mobile and it’s just not user friendly
One of the greatest thing on youtube streaming, is that by having premium I don’t have to see ads on any streamers I watch, rather than just the people i sub to Edit: people arguing that twitch has turbo, come on now, twitch is just for streaming, while youtube is literally for most things; music, live streams and even twitch vods. Ps: i pay under 2 dollars for it, and i want people i watch to get payed.
As a user; any time I think “hey maybe I could watch this dudes Twitch stream for a bit” I am immediately reminded why I never use Twitch. Genuinely one of the worst user experiences of all time. I love getting hit with six ads every eleven minutes.
It's not even just the ads, there's something inherently repellent about that site for me even before being hit with ads. I don't mean in a visceral disgust sort of a way or anything like that, I just can't bring myself to check or use the platform, then of course the sheer amount of ads seals the deal on that for me lol.
@JayneAFK no yeah why are you so right about this. The guy who made the original comment too, If I ever want to watch a VOD of a streamer I look for an archive channel on yt
i feel that way about the twitch chat, it repels me just as much as the ads. too colorfully distracting, too many moving emotes and emote spamming, it feels like one of those tiktoks where subway surfers is just playing on the side for some reason.
Poor! Plus fell off plus can’t get a job and pay for entertainment then complain and make it other peoples problem when they are having fun . YEP sounds really fun brother ma
As a casual viewer RUclips streaming is by far the best streaming experience that exists. It's higher quality, no ads, and lets me actually go back and catch up or re-watch things live. People go back to Twitch because all the other streamers are on Twitch, they'd rather be on the OG platform than the platform which is actually objectively better for their viewers. I imagine streamers make enormously more money from the bombardment of ads they subject their viewers to, and just make up that RUclips is (somehow) worse. Just be honest - Streamers want those buckets of money Amazon is throwing out.
Well, if you do live streaming as a job, of course you're going to go wherever you get more money. I don't really see even with "real" jobs why you would choose a lesser paying job when the experience for you is the same or even better on the better paying job. Yeah, the technical aspects of Twitch are barebones compared to RUclips, but Charlie mentioned it multiple times, there's a culture on Twitch chats that just doesn't exist on RUclips, the discoverability on RUclips is non-existent so unless you have an audience built beforehand, nobody is ever going to know about your stream, and as a streamer, interactions with an audience are just thousand times more exciting on Twitch and people are more willing to throw money at you. It's clear why people would choose Twitch instead.
@@CoTeCiOtm the discoverability on Twitch is non-existent so unless you have an audience built beforehand, nobody is ever going to know about your stream, I actually knows more streamers who started from nothing on RUclips than twitch, but the numbers are super few anyway. It's always about marketting for both platform a.k.a the "popular friends" you can secure and has 0 to do with discoverability in the first place.
@@Frzned9x yeah, RUclips can sometimes just give you some random 100 view video on the recommendation depending on what you like watching recently. There have been lots of example of RUclipsrs using the algorithm and went from only a few hundred views to thousands and even reach tenth and hundredth thousands of views by being smart with the algorithm.
@@itsarin2166 Video views and streaming are 2 different things, someone can hit millions of videos view yet have very little live viewership when they do stream. At the end of the day, marketting is everything for both platform. It's not about which platform has better "discoverability" they are equally shit. It's about how many friends you can make.
@michealrosen I don't like what they're doing, but I do like the bots ruining Beast's image further. Mrbeast is a scummy buffoon who rigs challenges, promotes illegal child lotteries and most of all, hires convicted pedophiles to work in an industry who's target audience are children.
Its kinda funny that twitch doesnt has this feature, it has it to some degree. IF the streamer has vods enabled (rip to all bathtub streamers) you can go to their channel and see the actual stream as a vod, so you potentially can go back if the streamer is streaming for idk 50min and u missed the start, if the streams has vod disabled then it doesnt work ofc.
Notice how almost all the comments say they prefer RUclips streaming over Twitch? People like the fewer number of ads, the ability to rewind streams, and VODs automatically getting saved and permanently archived. Also, RUclips premium is cheaper than Twitch Turbo and more useful imo since it comes with RUclips music and also allows ad free viewing on both regular videos and livestreams.
Notice how all the comments have 0 traction and most likely not from North America 😅 We will and continue to live the way we want and pick and choose what we do? What’s new we make the way things are done
I understand the streamer themselves but I can't see why a viewer would prefer Twitch. You get like 4-8 minutes of ads every so often and it's a horrible experience. RUclips to my knowledge doesn't do that, at least with the streamers I watch, Charlie being one of them.
I don’t think RUclips Streaming is a failure, I prefer the RUclips interface over Twitch by FAR + not only is it a streaming site, it’s connected to the largest video platform in the world, so audiences transfer over.
Especially after the recent Twitch mobile update, instead I use an app called "frosty" and it literally just gives me pretty much everything from PC (add-on emotes, quick-replies, etc.) and I can also click the little refresh button a few times so the ads fail to load in so in that way it kinda has its own adblock, all that said though RUclips's VOD system absolutely smacks Twitch's VOD system, hands down
I prefer watching RUclips streams personally because I already have RUclips and Twitch ALWAYS bugs out; whether it’s on mobile, pc, or even Samsung Fridge
@@Coffee17990RUclips streaming isn’t like that at all. You get 1 to 2 ads when clicking then you’re good for as long as you stay. However RUclips videos can get ridiculous. Twitch is unbelievably buggy, and I hate the fact that pre-roll ads are almost 6-7 minutes. That’s insane to me, and it pushes people away from streamers in the long run.
certainly the smaller streamers, or discovering new streamers. People will only sit through 6 minutes of ads if they know they will get great content on the other side of them, so Twitch actively shoots itself in the foot for supporting smaller streamers.
It entirely depends on the streamer on how many ads they play. I know because i watch one slightly big streamer who only puts the bare minimum of ads allowed, usually only 1-2, for the entire stream. So i like to watch them more because those ads are played in the start. So 6-7 minute ads every 20 min is entirely the streamer's choice.
@@PekologyPre-roll ads happen on every stream, unless the streamer specifically chooses to do mid-roll ads instead. Pre-roll ads on a livestream when you're trying to join to see what's happening NOW are annoying as hell, but they're the default.

@@UnhumanNewmanI agree with both of ya, I just prefer RUclips overall, not that many ads, I can rewind/pause until the stream gets back to a higher resolution, there’s no incentives to spend money, and what I consider to be a bonus, no moderation (as far as I know of) in RUclips streams. There is one thing that can tick me off it’s when I write a long paragraph to answer a question a streamer asks on twitch only to be deleted by a mod. It’s also unlikely to get banned on RUclips or from a RUclips stream. The only thing I can understand about the so called “Twitch Culture” is that they can use Pepe and unique emotes, highlighting messages by using ‘channel points,’ and using ‘Channel Points’ for other stuff like sound effects. Other than that, they are equals in cringe.

Hi 35 but I also have the common sense to see the parallels between RUclips premium and Twitch turbo and I’m not completely regarded that sense oops😂😂😂😂😂😂
@joshuaSand3rs paying premium on twitch gets you one subscription, yt premium is around 14.99. So subs to every single yt channel for the price of three twitch
Thanks to VTubers, I prefer RUclips for streaming by far. The only people I know that don't like RUclips streaming are Twitch streamers that got comfortable with Twitch's layout for years and have trouble adapting to RUclips.
I feel the EXACT opposite about chat on each platform. Twitch chat is such a manic, chaotic mess, I don't even bother trying to talk because my voice gets drowned out by all the noise. On RUclips however, not only have I been able to actually get my chat read by the streamers I've watched, but even more impressively I'm able to actually talk to other chatters and have an actual discussion! And with the ability to highlight your message with super chats, I firmly believe RUclips offers a WAY better chat experience than Twitch! I do believe as a content creator, if you're ONLY focused on streaming and don't do any regular video content, than sure, I can see the argument for sticking to Twitch. But if you do also do regular videos on top of streaming, I really believe RUclips is the preferred platform for long term growth. But like you say at the end, I agree that regardless, using both to dual stream with definitely seems like the best approach, even if it was just for the better vod you get from RUclips honestly.
I would always get raided by this stream that raided people abt to win on Fortnite n I’d always get full of adrenaline seeing the numbers go up lol, found a good streaming community too, I always tuned in and had a good time watching their streams, good times bro, I was sad when I tried to stream one day and it wasn’t even an option

When I saw the creators of Mixer leave, I immediately knew it was over.
I think Hololivers just have a better idea of how RUclips streams are. They give a show for their viewers. I feel like Twitch is more about the interaction between the streamer and audience.
The only dogwater thing about RUclips streaming, especially for vtubers, is that RUclips regularly rolls out updates that culls the concurrent viewers. Last month everyone, especially vtubers, was hit by a 25-100% cull in ccv. Some streamers even showed NEGATIVE ccv.
I can’t speak for the creators but as a viewer I like it because I don’t have to have to keep switching between twitch and RUclips if I want to watch something
Streaming on twitch may be better, but watching on youtube is WAY better. Twitch has LOOOOONG ads (unskipable) you can rewind Twitch's lags way more while watching and you can't select lower quality on small streamers to make it go quicker It is also hard to find sub catagories of games, which I am into.
As the majority of comments I've seen I fully agree that for watchers, youtube is better, while for streamers, twitch is better. Us watchers prefer youtube not only for the ads that we are subjected to on Twitch but also because of the rewind/pause/fast forward buttons; while on the other hand streamers prefer twitch for the discoverability but mostly for the money
9:00 I'm sorry but this is the complete opposite of the truth. As a small-scale streamer the numbers don't even compare. RUclips has WAY WAY WAY more visibility and growth than twitch for small-time multristreamers and much better long-term viewer adoption (subscriber vs follower). The incumbent effect makes being a small streamer on twitch absolutely miserable, you get buried alive in the 0 viewers zone without tremendous effort.
Yeah in my experience YT has been way better for getting new viewers and even people talking in chat than twitch as a small streamer. I think youtube maybe has a bit of an algorithm problem tho where it'll only really recommend small streamers to people who engage with smaller streamers or by chance if they already enjoy the content you're streaming
Most of Charlie's takes are the complete opposite of truth in my experience, but we watch because he delivers them in a weirdly entertaining way. My recommendation is to keep reminding yourself that these are the takes of the ultimate Florida man.

So you're saying on RUclips I get a higher quality stream with little to no intrusive ads and the chat isn't a bunch of children screaming poggers Streamers are focusing on the child audience, not the quality of the content. Kids like twitch, kids give these adults money and put them on pedestals. That's the difference
Man, how old are u? Why are you talking like every stream is Ninja stream, have ever watch one? And like, talking about kids??? are u 70?? Sound like me dad when i use the computer and im almost 30
I would always do everything I could to find a recording on RUclips to avoid having to use and navigate Twitch. Not to mention the more distasteful forcing of ads.
@@raz9305what’s the point of using addons when I can nullify the whole process by just using RUclips. If you need addons to make a website bearable then you should probably just find a better alternative. The only exception to that rule is adblock.

@paulreynolds7103 Yes, fewer ads means less money, but I barely touch Twitch now, so I'm still not giving money to Twitch or Charlie (or other streamers)
Preroll ads kills Twitch for me. They are way too long. I gave up trying to get into Twitch when I clicked a stream and it’s seriously 2minutes+ unskippable ads before I even get the chance to hear the streamer
RUclips is superior as a viewer. I haven’t watched a twitch stream in a year or more. Last time i tried, i got hit with idk how many minutes of unskippable ads. There is no shot i’m sitting through that every 20-30 minutes.
I like RUclips over Twitch because on RUclips, the content will always be there. If a video is made, that video will not disappear like a lot of Twitch VODs do. RUclips has an entire page just for stream VODs, and theyre saved by default. On Twitch, the VODs delete themselves, that content is ephemeral, and temporay, while it lasts much longer, maybe even forever, if on RUclips. I work often, and many of my favorite streamers stream while I'm working, or they stream at the same time as other streamers I also want to watch. RUclips's permanent VOD system means that I don't need to feel pressured to watch them before they're gone. And yes, most Twitch vods do get archived on that streamers YT channel or a separate archive channel, but that still leads back to RUclips.
One thing I will say is I joined your channel from the app. I didn't have to go on any other third party platform or a browser to do it. It is on the app and a simple button
I am an odd one out here: I've been trying dual streaming this year and I've had a lot of fun with it. Discoverability on Twitch has been fantastic for me (have gained ~100 followers there and am almost affiliated, YAY), but I've racked in a bunch of RUclips subs and people that regularly come back to my streams because of my sterams and less because of the videos I post. This is coming from someone who started this year with like ~125 subs on YT and now almost 600. I'm obviously a small creator, but when looking at my analytics, I can credit a substantial amount of that growth and the boost in regular video watch hours to people discovering me via streams. Also, a pretty good number of the people that have come by me on Twitch have moved to RUclips because that is where my chat is the most lively. Obviously it's not the same for everyone, just sharing my experience as a small creator as it seems to contradict what larger creators say in terms of discoverability.
I've also had way better discoverability on youtube than in twitch. The most growth my RUclips channel has had has been from live streams. There definitely seems to be separate audiences for videos and streams though
I’m in the same boat, I would stream more if it wasn’t for work and school, but unlike my times of trying on twitch, I have regulars on RUclips who come by just to chat. I also like doing wacky thumbnails if I have the time to sit and photoshop a fever dream together
The worst part about twitch other than the people running it is they auto delete VODs older than a month or a few months unless you save them which not everyone does. Lot of legendary streams that are lost to time because of this
Twitch is honestly better in just chat integration. Other than that it is terrible in terms of video quality. It either bugs out, buffers a lot, you get ads all the time, and the only way you get the most out of Twitch as a viewer is spending money.
for the price it costs me to buy a couple of things on Twitch to actually enjoy it, i could get a months worth of RUclipsPremium no ads and unlimited music too! its a joke

It’s genuinely two sides of the same neurotic coin.
I am seriously done with Twitch.. getting bombarded with 1,000 ads for the app to crash and then have to sit through them again and it takes the entire screen and I can’t watch the stream until they are done and since I can’t rewind I missed everything that happened. Can’t even watch twitch anymore. The ridiculous amount of ads, the new update for mobile, and the annoying glitch I keep having where VODs kept restarting after I watched an ad.
RUclips is so much better as a viewer. The ads are so long, like 3+ minutes is insane. But I could get over that. And my biggest issue, no playback on live and no pausing where you are. And the player messes up so much more.
YT streaming is dominated by vtubers and they do numbers that these people leaving don’t. The ones switching back just aren’t the biggest and they can’t see that. The biggest are doing it without contracts on YT and just aren’t English speaking.
@@alphakowaclips personal experience, as someone who has created for both platforms, RUclips is more likely to give newer creators a shot, whereas Twitch is horrible about promoting new creators.
Another reason I prefer RUclips over Twitch is because some of the local telco companies have a separate quota for some apps, and RUclips is one of them. That save me a lot of since it's separate from daily quota usage, it's cheaper, and I get to watch RUclips a lot on my phone mostly on lunch break and while I'm driving.
I get around one stream recommended to me per day. Maybe 2 on occasion. Recent stream vods however is 30% of my recommendations. I mightve gotten more recommendations to livestreams but 99% of youtube streamers i watch are outside of my timezone. So its like, most streams are around early af mornings or late af evenings. And thats not something twitch or youtube can change… atleast i can get the vods. Recommendations to streamers i dont watch happen maybe a few times per month. But i also use youtubegaming where its easier to just find streams for games. Since the live tab is mostly for non gaming streams i find. But even as bad as youtube recommended is, its still way fucking easier to discover new streamers than on twitch. To find new streamers on twitch, i just come from youtube anyway.

nah im a youtube livestream enthusiast to my core. twitch is overrun with ads and in my experience just a buggy website at its core. i honestly cant remember the last time i went on twitch.
Entirely different culture, and it's primarily driven by Japanese viewers who didn't start off with Twitch. English vtubers tend to follow the same "Twitch is usually better or do mix streaming" trend, Vshojo and idol does both, and it's really only in the JP side of things where YT streams work well on their own
As a tiny streamer, I have found far more success streaming on RUclips than I have Twitch. I get mostly bots on Twitch. I’m sure it’s different for larger content creators but I personally don’t get the hype behind Twitch
So long as Twitch has 5+ minute ads whenever you try to tune in to a stream, and shitty player options, RUclips will be the superior, but underrated choice. Better to just wait for the VoD to drop to watch what happens on a Twitch stream
As someone who uses both: multi streaming is superior. Twitch is incredibly awful for growth, and I rarely see any success streaming on that platform. However, it is superior for streamers, as it has a much better UI and ways for chat to interact with the creator. Doing multi streaming allows for the best of both worlds, so you don’t have to choose between one or the other
I think it's the main difference between communities, much less direct interactions on RUclips. it's part of the design and philosophy of the websites, no pms on RUclips for exemple. I see RUclips as a library, and Twitch as a TV 2.0.
So the major takeaway from watching the video and reading the comments is that the audience actually mostly prefers RUclips due to the lack of time in their schedules however content creators prefer Twitch for Live-streaming because RUclips as a platform doesn’t cater to them nearly as much as Twitch has
@momomon7662 he kinda did, it took years to get it up and running and then there was hardly any heads up that the machine was up and running. And Charlie didn’t stream on YT or I missed it bc YT sucks and didn’t recommend the stream this weekend which is unfair to people who do not to support Amazon (twitch) for how much effort he put into the claw machine he is not keeping up with it.
Twitch's "ad breaks" still suck. Especially when the stream is still running - it's not a break if the stream is still running! It's just an interruption!
The video player is just infinitely better. INSTANT pause, rewind, skip around. Don't have to dig into videos only to see Parts of a vod of a stream you are currently watching or none at all, waiting 5 seconds for it to load every time you click
I find it funny people compare twitch to what is essentially an unfinished side quest for RUclips. If you are a creator with an audience that live streams and you DONT multi stream on everything you can, you simply are just putting yourself at a disadvantage monetarily. Its pure insanity not to.
Ludwig he ain't right on whenever it comes to multi-streaming and just as I've been saying that people need to be streaming on other platforms other than twitch we need competition in the streaming space like RUclips and Kick because the competition is good and to be around
Imma be honest I got more viewers in YT than I ever did on Twitch.. YT is really good for just casual streaming, and just chatting talking about games and stuff.. When I tried streaming in Twitch literally had nobody to talk to for like 2-3 weeks straight lol
I never thought RUclips would overtake Twitch, as someone that lives on RUclips, uses it all day every day, I still only ever use Twitch for streams, the site just works better for it, feels nicer, has a bigger and imo better community, has better emotes, including my own, etc.. I also don't know if it's due to a higher distribution of kids on RUclips vs twitch but live chats feel even more hive minded and low IQ or potentially botted on RUclips streams and shorts comments than on twitch, the only real negative with twitch is the amount of ads you can get but I don't really tend to have that issue because I don't live in 20k Andy stream chats, I more often watch a friend with a much smaller chat, streamers only responding to donations isn't a stream vibe I enjoy, those types of streams send me to RUclips, not for live content, but for highlight videos (I.E Summit) I also have a lot of friends that stream, a couple of them moved from Twitch to RUclips and at first they were super excited and loving it because they were getting better rev splits but after the initial housewarming gift of subs, so to speak, they got nothing for months after that, RUclips viewers are much more likely to watch a stream and never donate because that's what they do with all the other content they consume on here

I would always do everything I could to find a recording on RUclips to avoid having to use and navigate Twitch. Not to mention the more distasteful forcing of ads.
You can pause and rewind on RUclips, so much better than Twitch
Research what add-ons are.
@@raz9305 Why? you don't need them on youtube to pause and rewind

@paulreynolds7103
Yes, fewer ads means less money, but I barely touch Twitch now, so I'm still not giving money to Twitch or Charlie (or other streamers)
Twitch ads will forever hold it back.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like that's holding it back.

@@ongfrfr249 Well I meant in terms of Twitch's statistics, it's hardly being held back at all.

@@bryconator1021 that is so real
The worst part about twitch other than the people running it is they auto delete VODs older than a month or a few months unless you save them which not everyone does. Lot of legendary streams that are lost to time because of this

Not watching a stream with insane ads even if you just want to check.
Twitch is honestly better in just chat integration. Other than that it is terrible in terms of video quality. It either bugs out, buffers a lot, you get ads all the time, and the only way you get the most out of Twitch as a viewer is spending money.
for the price it costs me to buy a couple of things on Twitch to actually enjoy it, i could get a months worth of RUclipsPremium no ads and unlimited music too! its a joke

I straight up never get streams recommended to me here
yeah, it rarely shows up for me as well
I get around one stream recommended to me per day.

As someone who uses both: multi streaming is superior. Twitch is incredibly awful for growth, and I rarely see any success streaming on that platform. I never thought RUclips would overtake Twitch, as someone that lives on RUclips, uses it all day every day, I still only ever use Twitch for streams, the site just works better for it, feels nicer, has a bigger and imo better community, has better emotes, including my own, etc..
Tbh, I rarely watch streams at all these days besides at early hours of the morning when I can't sleep but even if I see someone live on my RUclips sub panel I never feel the urge to click it.
I also don't know if it's due to a higher distribution of kids on RUclips vs twitch but live chats feel even more hive minded and low IQ or potentially botted on RUclips streams and shorts comments than on twitch, the only real negative with twitch is the amount of ads you can get but I don't really tend to have that issue because I don't live in 20k Andy stream chats, I more often watch a friend with a much smaller chat, streamers only responding to donations isn't a stream vibe I enjoy, those types of streams send me to RUclips, not for live content, but for highlight videos (I.E Summit)
I also have a lot of friends that stream, a couple of them moved from Twitch to RUclips and at first they were super excited and loving it because they were getting better rev splits but after the initial housewarming gift of subs, so to speak, they got nothing for months after that, RUclips viewers are much more likely to watch a stream and never donate because that's what they do with all the other content they consume on here
