    The effort by volunteers to turn out the loco and carriages in such immaculate condition deserves recognition. Well done guys and girls, superb.

    Fantastic film! I was on duty when this was filmed, seeing the 08 go off to rescue 7714 was certainly and interesting sight.
    2968 really is a gem.
    Cheers and keep up the great work - Alex.

      What happened to 7714?

    • @rhysarnold1
      @rhysarnold1  8 месяцев назад

      @@olliestrains841 It was due to run from Bridgnorth to Bewdley light engine, but hit a fallen tree somewhere near Country Park Halt. Hopefully the crew and the loco were okay

      @@rhysarnold1 That’s right, yes. Crew are fine and the pannier got off with minor damage.

      @@greatwesternproductions2857Glad to hear crew and locomotive are okay! Were the movements we see in this video related to that incident at all, like when we see the 08 come off shed?

    • @greatwesternproductions2857
      @greatwesternproductions2857 7 месяцев назад

      @@HeyItsAJOmega Yes, the pannier was due at Bewdley I believe and hit the tree. The 08 was then sent with a gang to cut it free. The diesel then pushed 7714 into the loop at Highley. It’s all fine now and back in service.

      Yes and no methinks! Did he not know that he would get a steam bath? Still, a lovely view of the tender passing by! I bet he cursed! Cheers

    Fanatstic film - trying as hard as possible, and succeeding, to be as near to the steam years so many of us remember and miss.
    Only problem is the engine has a pre-war number, recreating a period virtually no one alive cares about. That would have been a huge novelty back in 1968, but it's a novelty that has grown thin.
